अगजानन पद्मार्कं गजाननं अहर्निशम् । अनेकदंतं भक्तानां एकदन्तं उपास्महे ॥ We worship uninterruptedly, throughout the day and night, that God with a single tusk who provides in plenty to his devotees, and who has the face of an elephant and who is like son of the devi Parvati, who is the daughter of the mountain, and with a lotus like face ( means the one who brings joy to the face of Parvati).
It is not Gan, it is Gam, if you understand sanskrit then you will understand what Gam is and how broad just this one sylable is in our tradition of tantra. This man is confusing pronunciation with the word, that is why many people are mislead into thinking it is gan. This is also why you can end up wasting your time on 1lakh of Ganapataye moola mantra jaap saying "Gan" instead of Gam. We use Gam in other mantras also because it is very powerful.
This is why I said he is confusing the written English translated word with the Sanskrit oral pronunciation. There are rules in the mantra already, that’s why you will start the mantra with Om (Aum) This is used specifically to set the following syllables up in a certain way, meaning each syllable becomes effective as written.

If you think gan should be used, give me your reason but within the structure of the mantra itself?
