  • Located on Rokko Island in Kobe, the Fashion Plaza gets its name from the Kobe Fashion Museum, which depicts the history of (Japanese) fashion but also hosts other seasonal exhibitions and is home to a library. Another museum, the Kobe Artists Museum, is located in the same building.
There is an atrium on the third floor, two floors above street level (note that in Japan, the first floor is usually at street level), where a play area is set up for children. On the upper floors, meeting rooms can be found. An event venue, the Orbis hall, is located on the fifth floor within the UFO-like structure visible from outside. The fifth floor is also the top floor of the Fashion Plaza itself, with floors above that being part of an adjacent hotel.
An escalator in the atrium leads directly from the third to the fifth floor, skipping the fourth floor. Meanwhile, two scenic elevators extend from the fifth floor down to two basement levels, but these do not stop at the second floor, although it is still shown on the floor indicator.
On the outside, a wide set of stairs leads from street level up to the atrium. Next to this, an escalator is placed, which is notable in that it has a horizontal section roughly where the second floor would be. In Kobe, there is also an escalator with two horizontal sections, located at the Umie Mosaic shopping complex.
