This is my favorite LEGO movie, also a great Batman movie.

I am I the only one creeped out by Nick's empty room with just a mirror (possibly to a hell dimension).

What you don’t see is that if he pulls back the mirror it’s the wardrobe into Andy’s room.
I personally enjoyed this movie, I loved all the little references and in-jokes
I'm only 16 minutes in, but you can just see in Greg's face that he's pissed this movie is going to be high on his rankings.

Damn Greg if you hate the movie that much that you can't even bother doing a proper plot recap maybe let Nick do it or something. Maybe he cares about actually try to making us laugh.

Glad I wasn’t the only one who felt this way
I've noticed nearly everyone at KF has had one of these off days on an In Review in the past couple months. I know everything about 2020 is kicking all of our asses, but I'm curious if the crew would mentally benefit from taking a hiatus from In Review. I love the entire team and want them to do what's best for them even if it means a little less (or even just different) content for us to watch and listen to.
I think he just did not enjoy this movie at all

Man Greg and Kev really shit on this, but I get it. It’s super juvenile and if I’m not in the right mood watching it, it bugs me BUT if you really vibe with it it cracks me up!
I wish they were a little more clear on why they didn’t like this movie, I respect that they admit that the movie is not for them. But Kevin liked Sonic, and that was very much a kids movie. Greg, I don’t know what his types of movies other than superheroes, but I assume friendly kids movie is not one of them.

I think the movie is ok and Rises underwhelms compared to Dark Knight, but Rises is still a much better movie than Lego Batman in my opinion. Rises has it’s issues but has some amazing scenes still. I don’t think anything in Lego Batman was amazing.
I love this movie, I love how this movie is a parody of Batman and manages to tell a fun, humorous, and complex story that shows why we love Batman for generations to come.
Any chance they'll add DCEU/Batfleck into these rankings (Batsuit, Batmobile, Bruce Wayne, Alfred, etc, etc)? Seems only right that every cinematic Batman get a fair shake.
I hope so with next week's ranking video. Especially since I think a ton of Batfleck stuff would rank high

Y’all are crazy! This movie is a hilarious, and WONDERFUL love letter to the Batman mythos and it’s endless characters, and while exaggerated, it displays such a fundamental understanding of their dynamics. The Batman and Robin relationship is genuinely heartfelt, and it has a really interesting take on the Batman/Joker relationship as well.
Greg THIS IS THE SECOND Batman Movie Where I Was Like 😱 (First Was Rises) I Can’t Believe You, This Movie Does slow down a bit in the Third Act but I Loved It in Theaters

I liked that the movie went in on batman as a character rather than just referencing specific things from other movies. Like batman throwing a tantrum is such a great way of making people realize he's really just a spoiled rich kid playing dress up. But if they kept just referncing batman v superman and the nolan movies it would have just been boring.
I'm with Andy and Nick on this one. How can anyone not like this movie? The Forever music scene is so hype.

WOW, Greg non-stop complains about how no one on film ever gets the Batman character right yet a movie comes around that does that and he disses it. Sure, they do it in a comedic style but they capture the ESSENCE of Batman. It's just delivered in a comedy movie, but this IS a Batman story at its core through and through. I'm no longer sure Greg actually knows what he wants when it comes to Batman. He's so much of a hardcore fan to actually enjoy anything that doesn't fulfill his overblown batman fantasies.
I understand where Greg is coming from. I had the weird experience of the humor not working for me at all until about halfway through the movie where suddenly it did. I have no idea why. I totally get why Greg wouldn't like the movie and I also get why Nick loves it. It really comes down to whether or not you vibe with it.

They should watch the direct to video Batman movies, like under the red hood, Batman ninja, and Bat thumb.
I think the cast should be able to opt out of watching a movie they dislike and have someone else take their spot for that particular movie especially if it’s a series like these. As a fan of KF content I think seeing someone truly indifferent throughout is less entertaining as someone that watched it with an open mind.
Haven't they done that before? Like wasn't Greg absent from the Harry Potter reviews? I would also argue that there shouldn't be a requirement that you enjoy the movie to be able to talk about it.
It's one of the best Batmen, but it's all so tongue in cheek and satirical, as well as frenetically paced (I get it, it's largely a kids movie), that it lessens the heartfelt/serious moments a little bit for me. Still really great overall, with a great cast, and more funny than not. Maybe number 3 for me.

I guess it was just a throwaway line but when the Brick from the Phantom Zone said that her boss would be not happy about letting Batman out. I thought at the end of the movie it would show someone playing with Batman Legos like the end of The Lego Movie

My two favorite villain cameos are Conan O’Brien as The Riddler and Jemaine Clement as Sauron (which is twice as funny because it’s a reference to the LOTR movies being shot in NZ)
First time I almost perfectly agree with your rankings. Also I agree with Greg that Lego Batman is the much better movie but I have more fun with Batman & Robin too. It is terrible though.

I agree with Greg. I'm not a fan of the Lego Batman Movie either. With that said, I don't want to stop anybody from liking the film. I feel like it's not made for me and that's fine. I think it's more of a kid's film and a parody of Batman rather than an actual Batman film. To be fair, 60's Batman is kind of like a parody, but I felt it was more genuine and fun.

Does Greg like DCAU movies? I feel like he's often pretty lukewarm on animation (See this and MotP), but some of the BEST Batman stories and adaptations come from the medium!

This isn't really a DCAU movie, and Phantasm I think was off because it was before they hit their stride with the animated movies. (Tho I really like Phantasm)

This movie fell short of my expectations. I absolutely adore the Lego stop motion animation Style which basically saves it for me but most of the jokes didn't land for me. This seems like the most divisive Batman movie of this review series so far

This is a fantastic Batman movie, it saddens me Greg’s attitude and all his arguments (It was everything he said it wasn’t. Literally during the telling of the plot they are all refuted), but was so happy for everyone else. It had a complete Kinda Funny humor, I can’t believe there was even a bit of doubt about it. It has so many spot on jokes Greg’s plot makes no service to them. If you haven’t seen it, do it!!!

The moment I started the video I knew some of them wouldn't like the movie and it was the real mystery finding out who didn't enjoy the film. That's fine though not everyone likes the same things and it's a good thing to hear what could be better about something.

I need to disagree with Ragu Bagu this episode. Joker isn't always "wacky" in the comics. Hence why Three Jokers was made while extremely badly written he does have different ways he acts depending on writers.
This is the criminal like personality Joker has used in comics in the past not his zany or murderous one. And he was played great in that till and I believe should have been higher.
But that's just my opinion.
Sidenote: If I had the disposable income I would definitely but a Gonzo for Gordo shirt. Sadly in these times I rarely do.

I’m with Greg, I did not like this movie. I am very meh on the Lego Movie as well, so take that for what you will.
This movie feels like it just appeals to kids. I enjoy when movies are made for kids but you give the parents/adults watching something to keep them invested as well, and I really don’t think there’s enough in this to keep me entertained at all. It feels like those heartless paw patrol/cg cartoons that you just sit your kids in front of to me.

I'm with Greg. I had a more enjoyable time with Batman and Robin than I did this movie. This isn't a bad movie, but I was kind of bored on the rewatch.
That said I love how Batman dealt with his personal issues. Oftentimes he looks to a woman to help fill the emptiness he feels. This time he is just so far up his own ass, it's like he references the hype for Batman that he gets in the real world. I loved that.
I really enjoyed Nick and Andy's take on this (and Mr World Wide Web's too). I can understand where Greg and Kevin are coming from as I too have watched a comedy while in the wrong mood and found it annoying instead of funny. I hope they get a chance to watch it again under better circumstances. Maybe once Greg and Gen have a little Miller running around.😁

This was a rough one, IMO. Greg did not seem to be into this movie and the recap felt like it lacked the usual energy, no wild tangents/non-sequiturs and it seemed like everyone didn’t even want to do the podcasts-within-a-podcast toward the end. I’m gonna chalk this one up to the group being drained by the new consoles, or perhaps the recent news of losing a Best Friend. Selfishly I wish it wasn’t for an episode for which I was extremely excited. Regardless love everything y’all are doing and wish y’all well.

This film was overhyped for me. I love Batman and Lego, so I had high expectations for this film. Unfortunately, I didnt enjoy it as much as other people and I think it's a "just ok" kids movie.
