Tried diagonal pinning and it worked for me! Thanks so much!!

Diagonal pinning works well for me. For seams that I really wanted to get exactly aligned I’ve basted them before sewing, either by hand or machine (just a few stitches, long stitch length, easy to pull out) or glue basting (tiny drop). Also tried fork pins, but jamming those thick pins through multiple layers of fabric was frustrating. Maybe some brands are finer. And maybe pinning toward the raw edges works better. I’ll try that…

Glue basting is another great tip! I forget about it because it involves turning on my iron to heat set it and that feels like a lot of work most days. haha!

What are your feelings about glue basting seam joins?

Very positive feelings! It takes more time because you need to heat set the glue for it to really work, but the wonderful thing about glue is that once you put in the work it's always perfect.
