    Nice! Clearly shown and love the tool lists. One thing I aways do when troubleshooting something I’m not 100% sure of electrically is to put my meter on the source of the voltage and the other probe on my ground to ensure that the ground is indeed part of the circuit. Even if the schematic shows a grounded neutral or common doesn’t mean it was wired that way. Always prove your test equipment, too.

    Nice video, thanks for posting. I myself carry the universal switches for replacement, setting them up with the Fieldpiece pump you have in the video. And I don’t use them as temporary, due to the fact I’ve never seen documentation that says they can’t be permanent or are only for temporary use, and they’ve lasted in Lochinvar boilers I have at the school district I work for. I like the fact I have a switch that’ll cover a myriad of switches, kind of like the universal igniters.

      You absolutely can leave them in place. I just usually go and switch them out for the exact one. In this case, it was because I wanted to replace two in case the other would go in the future and they come as a set, thanks tcpHVAC/R!

    Hey brother!! Love you videos.
    I have a head scratcher.
    What if you text the vacuum that the inducer is creating and its strong enough that it should open the valve.
    Then you test the valve and it opens at about 1.6"wc
    But not when its connected to the inducer housing.
    I'm getting the inducer to pull about 4" wc

    Great video @acservicetechllc !!!
    I also recommend double check hose(s), port(s) for any obstruction(spider web, calcification, etc )
    Question: What is that on the top of that 2" gas black nipple before the gas valve??? Is it a kind of flow switch ?
    I never seen something like that before!!

    • @acservicetechchannel
      @acservicetechchannel  5 лет назад +1

      That is a low pressure gas switch for units that run on propane instead of nat gas. These typically come in the conversion kits depending on the manufacturer but should really have one installed regardless if it is for lp. Look up "acservicetech low pressure gas switch" for a video on that, thanks!

    • @acservicetechchannel

    How do I know which pressure switch is right for my furnace? Considering the make/model and altitude?

    • @acservicetechchannel
      @acservicetechchannel  6 лет назад

      A pressure switch can only be replaced with one the exact same wc size. When I order them with the supply houses, sometimes I just give them the model and serial and wait for them to tell me the size and that confirms it for me that they have the correct on, thanks.

    can i check voltage on pressure switch 2 terminal? not with ground with 1 terminal on pressure switch. like if there is 24volt on pressure switch, its open. if 0v, its closed. can i diagnose like that?

    • @acservicetechchannel
      @acservicetechchannel  6 лет назад

      You could check it that way but I prefer checking it by using ground or common along with the hot. It is also easier for teaching someone when they are learning I believe, thanks

    ive had people replace the gas valve, thinking it was the gas valve, later to find it's the pressure switch. Most gas valves can't operate until pressure switch closes

      if you are getting 24 volts at gas valve most likely is the gas valve malfunctioning

      Thank you that video was very helpful. You really are a genius and i definitely learn alot from these. Although i was leaning more towards a zone system for dampers in the duct system. I had a call and could not reach the damper without taking out drywall. I am not so keen on zone board troubleshooting, so my problem was trying to diagnose if the damper motor itself was bad. Or the zone board. One of the two would not allow any airflow and was stuck in the closed position.

      Yeah unfortunately that happens. That is one of the questions I ask them on the phone before coming. This way, if it is the propane empty or power off then they understand why I have to charge them for coming still, thanks

    At 5:19 it gets confusing, you say the pressure is going up but don't you really mean the vacuum is increasing? Therefore , don't you mean the pressure is actually going down?
