The reason this movie is so extremely convoluted is Nu Image/Millenium bought the rights from Insight and re-edited the film. There's a very interesting fan theory regarding the original cut. According to this theory, Seagal's character, Jacob, was actually a serial killer of serial killers. He traveled the world, posing as a cop, killing the serial killers in the area, and using his own investigation of these killers as his cover for killing them himself. This was why the FBI was interested in investigating Jacob as a killer. In other words, the movie was about the FBI chasing Jacob, not so much about Jacob hunting the serial killers. Anyway, this theory, even though I really like it, is apparently not true. When Vern wrote Seagalogy, he said he saw the original edit of the film and had this to say: An early workprint from when it was called Higher Form of Learning presents a different version of the film. Seagal supervised this cut and although not great its a better film than it turned into. The fight scenes are edited a lot better: 1.When the bad guy is thrown from the window it's 2 shots, one from inside and one from out 2.When Seagal curbs the bad guy we see a shocked reaction from people The Earlier cut of the film is shorter but has more character moments and story. Vern mentions nothing about how Jacob was originally a serial killer of serial killers. I actually enjoy watching the film as though the fan theory is true.
Jesus Christ, this movie is pure garbage regardless the fan theory is true or not (btw I suprised this movie has fans and they have time to put theories about it). Better watch some good action thrillers not this shit ;)

Enjoyed the fight in the bar towards the end where they intercut shots of Seagal from the opening where he was wearing a totally different jacket. And when they spliced in shots from the hammer scene too early (before he’s even picked it up), cutting around it awkwardly so you can’t see the hammer in his hand. And the two cops who aren’t in much of a rush to stop Seagal smashing the guy’s arms, legs and ribs to pieces. In summary, it’s a sh1t show, but Seagal makes it all worthwhile.

I ve got a funny feeling that the part of Jacob was originally written with a black actor in mind. Some of his overly "cool" lines makes me think of old blacksploitation movies. Even the ending fits the genre as it tries to reassure you that the guy youve been watching is the coolest one around. It's either that or Steven's ego.
Congrats on 500!!! Next stop 1000 and beyond!! So much wrong with this one, my brother and I watched this one,(1) the"original" killer in the window scene,(2) his partner was definitely drunk for every scene he was in(considering he's in this movie who could blame him),(3) his "Memphis"accent,(4) the fact that there's two killers?,(5) the bar fight scene (he made the pimp eat glass or curbed him on the bar🤔),(6) when he catches Lazarus and beats the living shit out of him, he hit the guy with a hammer on all his joints,(7) Seagal''s "detective" work, (8) the FBI lady's detective work to paint Steven as the suspect,(9) the flashbacks or mention of them, kinda just thrown in there (10) much much more but I'll end it with ten, the secret family, really!!! I think this movie is when he went from shoestring budgets to a thread budgets. You only have about 30 more Seagal movies left 😂
The kerb / bar counter stomp was so out of the blue. Liked how the guy’s teeth reappeared in the next scene! Would be interesting if anyone in the know could rationally explain the ending, haven’t been able to sleep right since 2008 not knowing 😳😳😳

@@RedEyeReviews long, looong way to go yet! Jeff King went on to do Driven to Kill with Seagal which still has issues but is considerably better than Kill Switch.

Asylum studios, should consider getting Steven Seagal to star in some of their films. They are famous for their mock busters, so it seems fitting they get an actor famous for mocking martial arts.
This movie suffers from what I remember as the Bourne movie fight scene disease. Rather than plan and execute any decent choreography, you just skip around with extreme closeups of people's bodies moving in a nauseating clusterfuck of sound and motion blur. Boom, scene done and not a penny wasted on fight coordination.
It's kinda awesome how Steven Seagal movies eventually literally turned into Will Sasso's 90's Mad TV skits, like 10-12 years later.

"I can't BELIEVE this girls a 10!" WTF?
"I can't believe these kids are ten". Years old. Clear ?
@@chrisf1600 Nope it was a voiceover the cutting room thought would go unnoticed, and she didn't say shildren.
jacob stunt double...in the credits..nice lol
3:33 is that the cast of the Lonely Island dudes ?
I ve got a funny feeling that the part of Jacob was originally written with a black actor in mind. Some of his overly "cool" lines makes me think of old blacksploitation movies. Even the ending fits the genre as it tries to reassure you that the guy youve been watching is the coolest one around. It's either that or Steven's ego.

It was here that the beef stew I had enjoyed moments earlier almost came up. 😎
Seagal “stars? Yea I can draw stars in 5 languages”
Lol of course he can!
Congrats on 500!!! Next stop 1000 and beyond!! So much wrong with this one, my brother and I watched this one,(1) the"original" killer in the window scene,(2) his partner was definitely drunk for every scene he was in(considering he's in this movie who could blame him),(3) his "Memphis"accent,(4) the fact that there's two killers?,(5) the bar fight scene (he made the pimp eat glass or curbed him on the bar🤔),(6) when he catches Lazarus and beats the living shit out of him, he hit the guy with a hammer on all his joints,(7) Seagal''s "detective" work, (8) the FBI lady's detective work to paint Steven as the suspect,(9)
the flashbacks or mention of them, kinda just thrown in there (10) much much more but I'll end it with ten, the secret family, really!!!
@@michaelmyers3709 exactly!! It's just baffling, I watched Decker Shado's review about a year ago which made me go to watch it, idk if I regret watching it or what lol
ONLY 30 Left! Haha, for REAL this movie is...something special. I agree on all of your points. To be fair the only credited writer IS Steven Seagal....so he definitely just did whatever he wanted to do, and no one could say anything..which isn't a great idea, because you know..we get a movie like this one haha. Thank you so much for the support :)
@@RedEyeReviews long, looong way to go yet! Jeff King went on to do Driven to Kill with Seagal which still has issues but is considerably better than Kill Switch.
When he tries to do comedy I can't help but think of his victims .The women that he invited to his hotel room to do a 'script reads ' He just oozes sleaze .
Did he actually do that? I mean, considering the other things he’s been accused of I’m sure that wasn’t off the table, but god, I feel bad for those girls if it did. I also feel bad for any and all girls he interacted with in his life.
congratulations for having 500+ subscribers! Next goal is to reach 1k subs.
Thank you so much! We will get to 1K! I have a great community :)
The longer the vidz the merrier the memes my guy!
You know I'm going through your, and the fact that if this rate you only have 500, is mind-boggling to the amount you have acquired today. Good job
“I’ve been drawing stars for like 57 years” 😂😂😂
I think I heard some M4s in there.
Hahah me too
In the ending their speaking Russian, when Steven Seagal walks in he asks "How are you"
New sub you’ve earned my click, by Steven segalling harder than Steven segal has ever segaled
Hahaha thank you so Much! So glad you found the channel
Da Vinci code Steven Seagal would be pretty awesome, although maybe thats just because I watched that movie recently and it was pretty fun. I've watched kill Switch before and its just so funny when Steven talks in that Ssuuthernn vibe. The editing though is sure hard to deal with.
Oh my god I would put money towards making that movie happen
Have you ever noticed that when his stunts are doing all the fighting, he is seriously on point, focus hahahaha
I died at the drawing of the stars 🤣🤣🤣
19:48 *cartman voice* haha I got it just gimme that donut.... Sir its gone, your fingers b!eeding...gimme the beard crumbs then.... U bit my hand also.... Oh ya I can draw stars....**proceeds to fall asleep without apnea machine**
That editing is a crime against humanity
It physically hurts lol
You forgot Seagals catchphrase in The Onion Movie. "THAT'S MY PURSE! I DON'T KNOW YOU!"
i legit thought you were one of those channels with millions of subscribers.
Awe thank you! Maybe one day. For now we are just enjoying the ride :)
"Oh me im fiiine, theres a dead dude over there, just another day in my life"
for a cop... thats pretty accurate actually lol
Motion sickness activate!! 🤣😂🤣🥰
Asylum studios, should consider getting Steven Seagal to star in some of their films.
They are famous for their mock busters, so it seems fitting they get an actor famous for mocking martial arts.
The cryptic puzzle note reminds me of a Grand Theft Auto cheat code sheet
TODAY JUST GOT BETTER! 🙌🏼
So glad I could be apart of brightening your day friend :)
Thanks bro, This MADE my day!!! I LOVE THESE REVIEWS!!! 😂👏🏼👌🏼 CONGRATS ON 500 TOO! KEEP UP THE GREAT CONTENT! 👏🏼👏🏼👍🏼👍🏼
@@Tony_Colorado thank you so much! :)
You are amazing bro
Thank you so much!
This movie suffers from what I remember as the Bourne movie fight scene disease. Rather than plan and execute any decent choreography, you just skip around with extreme closeups of people's bodies moving in a nauseating clusterfuck of sound and motion blur. Boom, scene done and not a penny wasted on fight coordination.
the double i didnt know i needed
That ending ! lol
Is the bomb guy the singer killer from the punisher
