The ride is a lot of fun! Its much longer than I expected and the flow and special effects are great! Its a worth replacement to Kingdom of the Dinosaurs.

These are the kind of nightmares you have if you eat too many Fun Buns.
The graphics on this are better than on Wonder Mountain's Guardian but I prefer WMG because it has the lift hill and coaster section as well as the vertical drop track which took you by surprise.

last time i went Kingdom of the dinosaurs was just close and they were talkimg about this crap what a mistake they made. It's funny how this ride made me just feel old.
I still think they should've just remade Kingdom of the Dinosaurs. I like dark rides that have actual animatronics. This looked like a Wii game that you ride. Sad to see that this is the future of dark rides now. It's pretty lazy in my opinion.
Also I expected this ride to be longer. Kingdom of the Dinosaurs seemed like a much longer ride compared to this.
You obviousley have no knowledge of animation or robotic engineering. Animating an interactive dark ride is actually much harder than making and stiff animatronic. Plus, it looks better in real life.

You obviously have never been to Disney parks. They still manufacture dark rides with animatronics to this very day because that is the original dark ride formula.
+Sir Isaac Justice League Battle for Metropolis, maybe? It has both screens and animatronics.

I agree, and I was anticipating Justice League Battle for Metropolis in Six Flags more, but that opens next weekend. Alright Six Flags, do not dissapoint me.

Iron Reef is cool. Wish it had better set dressing though. The halls look like aquarium halls. Just empty hallways with sea themed decor now and then. I'd have preferred it to be an educational ocean themed ride with full sets like Kingdom of the Dinosaurs was. BUT, as an interactive kind of rude, the game aspect itself is cool, and I do like the theme.
I'm legitimately impressed with this attraction. It looks like an enormous improvement over Wonder Mountain's Guardian. Knott's really has a solid dark ride on their hands. Can't wait to see rides of this caliber spread to other parks throughout the Cedar Fair chain.
I'm just glad Six Flags Parks are getting these types of rides now like the new Justice League: Battle for Metropolis 3D interactive ride. I'll have to visit Knotts soon to check out Voyage!
Busch Dominion I think Wonder Mountains Guardian is a bit diffrent then this. First off all, this seems REALLY directed to families as apposed to the guardian where it is a bit scarier then this. This is much longer, has theming inside of the ride, but dosen't have any surprises or anything like that. Combine the theming with this ride and the length with the guardians surprise ending and its seating and this would be an something very hard to top

Despite the accolades in the comments here, Kingdom of the Dinosaurs always paled in comparison to Beary Tales, probably one of the biggest missteps on the part of Knott's. Iron Reef, while very different from Beary Tales, finally gives me a reason to go back to this attraction/location.
One of my favorites. I scored 120K on my first (and so far only) time on this.

Stupid anxiety attacks! I can't enjoy rides like this anymore.
My expectations were low, but I was wrong. Don't let a video dictate whether you go or not. The ride itself was amazingly a lot of fun!

The only good thing about this ride is the lighting and vibe when you get on the ride. Some of the blasters on the ride were actually broken when I went there, and they didn't have that smoke to project the bubbles in the beginning. So my recommendations; go there when the park instantly opens, or you'll die from complete boredom in line.

Why doesn't Knotts have 1 Horror ride? they make tons of money from Halloween but you would think they would at least put in one legit Haunted house type ride?

holahelio re-watching it, I think there was a freefall drop, and where the 'Kraken Queen' is chasing you, I think it's going up at an angle, but you're facing backwards towards the screen...So, I think that is what the surprise ending might be

Not sure if I could be less impressed with this. What if you don't shoot at anything? What happens? The story is never explained. It doesn't tell you why this is happening. Why is Knott's underwater here, but the park outside is just fine? What went wrong? Why does promotional material boast a "giant, mechanical steampunk squid" as the enemy, when the ads and artwork show the tentacles of something NOT mechanical, and clearly NOT this monster? Voice over is odd and boring. Music is boring. Kraken Queen comes out of nowhere and her mouth doesn't move when she talks. Meh. Bring back Bear-y Tales or KOD already.
***** I would hope so, but my main point was general disappointment in this ride. I would consider getting a season pass if they brought back Beary Tales! That's saying a lot, because I haven't been impressed with much of what they've done.

Oh my goodness I hate this ride . If there is a long line do not even attempt to go.
1. The waiting is extremely boring and it will probably leave you in tears. You just walk through some blue room that takes at least and hour and a half to get through while they play the same clip with terrible graphics over and over again.
2. The ride isn't all that impressive. If you've been to universal and been on King Kong, Simpsons and transformers, the graphics and special effects on this ride are terrible and super cheap
3. The ride is super short
But I mean hey, if there is no line give it a shot, but if there's a line, I strongly recommend you don't.

Wonder mountain guardian is better than this imo cuz Of its surprise drop at the end that comes out of no where. Has grown men peeing them selves a little. Oh and spoiler ;)
