The main reason was the cost of onion which was Rs.3 or 4 per Kg shot up to Rs.7 to 8. The print and digital media gave an exaggerated coverage for increase of cost of onion. But. in 2008, the very digital and print media did not highlight the inflation. So, people voted Congress + its alliance Govt. Majority of Indian voters either are lazy to vote or influenced by freebies and religion. P M Modi is trying his level best to use modern technologies in almost all fields. Government should encourage small farmers with less than 10 acres of land to pool their land holdings to form a cooperative society and provide technology to do collective farming. Then the collective land can be used for large scale farming with modern methods and profit can be shared by members. Also, the cooperative society can appoint agricultural experts to suggest methods to improve productivity and income. This way everyone will benefit.
The problem with the agricultural development is being affected by the first land availability of land. The population explosion has resulted in the land diversification in house construction and other development such as road bridges and above all city development. I like to quote above with respect Bihar. This state has highest population growth resulting in diversification of land to accomodate housing and other development programmes. This govt failed to revive economy and generate jobs in 10 years in spite of majority then why people expect them to achieve anything while walking on cruthes. They will achieve nothing because they lack will and commitment to implement reforms eg farmers bill. It is a matter of shame for this govt because trade with China doubled. Why this govt in 10 years did not replace imports to generate jobs. They cannot even manage law and order and manage riots which is essential governance.
