- I have LOVED working with Unicorn Spit it is so fun! In this video I stain the top of the dresser while painting the base white for a very unique piece. The drawer knobs are faux geodes that I tinted with Unicorn Spit as well.

Watched a few before... Amd yours is my favorite
So beautiful colours and Amazing work! Bravo 👍
Really pretty. Has a south west vibe.
Very beautiful creation! ♥
Very cute. I was curious to see the magenta though, and you never used it. Still turned out very cute.
How much unicorn spit did this take? It looks like your project took a lot. It turned out beautifully.
Love the colors !! Great job
Love your creativity. Thanks so much.💜
Jessica Hannah thank you!! ❤️
Love it !!!
Your video was very helpful in seeking other top coat options to seal in the beautiful colors. Tonight my daughter and I will be using our Unicorn Spit on our very first project! :) I was curious - how well has the polycryic held up? I'm hesistant in the yellowing factor as many light colored projects I've done turned a dingy yellow.
Love your results .
However your volume is very low .therefore I was unable to here your verbal instructions
Yes...more please!!
Did you use the pink? I missed it if you did. Love the unicorn spit gel. May have to invest in some!
It’s an interesting product that’s for sure. I just bought my first bottle - Home Depot had it all on clearance which I thought as odd.
Oh I will have to check my local Home Depot I have never seen it there. I bought it on Amazon but I think it is also sold at Joann's. Have fun!
To me this seems more like paint than stain. Or a glaze. And way too much white base makes it like we’re working with latex paint
Thank you for your video. You did a great job! Please do more.
Thank you so much Susan! 😊
I want to see how the rest of the project turns out
I don't know if you would have the answer but do you happened know how much coverage you get from 1 4oz bottle of Unicorn Spit? I mean just painting a surface. Not the stain method or watering it down.
Love this beautiful! Have you tried the sparkling kind and what do you think of those? I’ve just received both types from hubby for my bday and I’d never heard of this and in like where has this been my whole life. Lol. Thx
Happy late birthday! I haven’t tried the sparkling kind but that sounds fun. There is a Facebook group you can join for inspiration and a ton of videos on RUclips. Have fun!!!
I’ve tried the sparkly kind but only on picture frames. I was a wee bit scared to do anything bigger. To me, not much different than actual paint honestly.
Nicely ✔ done
Thank you!
I’ve never heard of Unicorn Spit but couldn’t the same affect be achieved by blending paint? It can be watered down also. Can you explain why this is different?
A stain soaks in and a paint stays on the surface. With this method, you can see the wood grain. It's almost like a 3D effect with the different colors.
Can u use this product on painted wood or counter tops?
Yes, I have seen others use this product as a glaze over painted pieces, and on countertops as well.
If using this as a glaze over painted wood furniture, would it need a top clear coat to seal or no?
great
What do you seal it with? And how many coats?
I sealed this dresser with polycrylic but I believe they recommend you seal unicorn spit with a non-water based product.
@@DIYWITHASH
That would make sense. Maybe a yacht varnish would work, or a Polyvine varnish.
Great job! Did you sell this piece or keep it?
Thank you! I sold it 😊
Sometimes you call the Unicorn spit stain another times you call it paint, which is it?
FREEDOM6427 it’s a very versatile product. The company calls it a stain and glaze. But I use it like a stain, glaze, and paint. A lot of it has to do with if you dilute it. You can add equal parts water to use it as a stain or glaze but if you don’t add anything it can be used like a paint.
Hi ... I love what you did with this ... 2 questions ... the paint/prima you use ... is that the same as chalk paint? Also,,, when you seal the spit you mention using Polycrylic ... is that water based? If yes .. how come your spit doesn't spoil? I'm a newbie spitter lol xx
Sue Randle thank you! To answer you first question it is not chalk paint it is just what I prefer for painting furniture. And yes I did use polycrylic you are correct that water based is usually not the best when working with unicorn spit and you can see in the video that it transfers a little to my roller. So I would just suggest that if you don’t want your spit extra blended use a polyurethane spray top coat as I did in my first spit video. I didn’t mind though for this project if it moved around a little bit. Thanks for your comment! 😊
@@DIYWITHASH Thank you :)
👍👍👍👍👍
Is that dresser real wood or veneer?
It was sanded down veneer
@@DIYWITHASH I did a veneer coffee table but I can't get it to shine like I want. Any suggestions?
Volume is way too low!!
Sorry.....I am just not impressed with Unicorn spit....it looks like just a normal dry brush that you can do with a normal acrylic and some water.
I personally like the Shou Sugi Ban look.
But nice job though.
