I’ve never smoked a bowl of tobacco. Not any cigar or cigarettes. I just watch videos of people like you smoking pipes. Looks like fun. Pleasurable. And there’s so many blends. And videos showing anyone interested how to. And reviews. Pipes. Blends of tobacco. Briars. Clay. Corncob. Church warden pipes. It’s all there. But I understand your point. She died from complications of emphysema. But she really enjoyed her smokes. So I don’t really know whether things are no better or worse in regards to tobacco smoking today. Wow!! I like you! New subscriber and great video! You have nailed so many things. I like the advice for how we deal with this - and the emphasis on fighting "Toxic masculinity." Cheers!
I think this is my opportunity to rant on this sore subject because it has really affected me as I have moved overseas to the Philippines. I use a company called FOREX cargo, which has been very reliable getting my boxes mailed here. When I first moved over, I sent some tobacco via air mail through them, and the box broke open in the shipment and they discovered the tobacco inside, even though I had Not listed it. They confiscated the 3 pounds.😑 because by that time tobacco was not allowed to be air shipped. I simply order it now online and send it to them and they send it via sea vessel and it takes anywhere from 8 to 10 weeks to get here.😣😫 The next thing I have to deal with is customs when I ordered tobacco and one pipe last year customs held it up for four months.😠😤 I always buy in bulk but looking ahead, Fortunately, they do grow and sell tobacco here partially processed or ground up for cigarette rolling. Pipe smoking is virtually unheard of here. However, I found a Tourist shop that showed handcarved male and female figures with pipes in their mouth. Ha ha so I guess it is historical here in someway. There’s even a town where the Spanish had a great history there and they do sell cigars. They also sell cigars at my local department mall as well as the airport in Manila so I can order that way if need be but they’re not cheap, I have learned how to process the local tobacco here but it takes quite a while as you may know and I flavor it with some honey and rum. I still haven’t quite got it down to where it’s really good but it’s tolerable so in the future, I may have to resort to only that and miss the beautiful blends that we smoke today. I like to think about the prohibition and how people learned how to get what they wanted despite the restrictions. Last note, I will add that I know all the big wigs who are controlling all this many of them smoke cigars, so they are actually for us and not against us. However, they’re going to manipulate everything in their favor. Anyway, sorry for the long post keep the smoking lamp lit my fellow pipers.🤘👍👆

Great video Dave. In Indiana we have to pay OTP Tax which is Other Tobacco Products. And state excise tax. On top of state sales tax. On a recent order of 1# and 1 tin of tobacco and a Falcon pipe totalling $130 I had to pay $30 tax. And it just keeps getting worse. An order from another company was $160 in product and $40 in taxes. Never be cheaper than it is today for sure. Masculinity is almost forbidden in today's society. Fxxx them I will not conform. I just work harder and more hours to pay for what I want. Just like all you strong men.
Freaking woke ass world! Too bad someone else knows what is better for me than I do! A friend of mine owns a farm in Kentucky that was a tobacco farm forever and now grows hemp because our government chocked out tobacco so the farmers are trying to survive and doing what they must.

Wow!! I like you! New subscriber and great video! You have nailed so many things. I like the advice for how we deal with this - and the emphasis on fighting "Toxic masculinity." Cheers!
Thanks for being part of the channel and for commenting! And thanks for the feedback - it does matter and helps a lot.
Good information about restrictions.
Ha ha
so I guess it is historical here in someway.
WOW! - now THAT was a great rant! Keep them coming - that was awesome!!
You are correct sir! Thanks for sharing.
I fully agree exept for the "cheaper" comment....I would say "less expensive" for sure. ;) A tin of C&D cost $39 here. Cheers from Denmark.
That is crazy money for 1 tin. I guess we are all headed that way ...
We can't let our American heritage of Tobacco be destroyed! It goes back to Native Americans and the crops that our founding fathers planted. TAXATION IS THEFT
A great comment!!! Love you man - thanks for being part of the channel.
@@PiperDave2023 Meant it from the bottom of my Red, White, and Blue heart🇺🇸 I hope more Americans start caring about our country and the damage that is being done.
We are the force - we need to lead this charge. @@R.N.19
@@PiperDave2023 Amen brother!
Agree with you. Thanks.
I’m from Maine too. I’m so thankful that I ordered a good cellar in 2019-2020. I went to continue to collect a few blends, and … “nope, you live in Maine.” I could hear the political-control-door slam on me (and many other citizens). Sure glad I have gathered my cellar before this boot fell.
Nicely done! Great timing - I think this is going to get worse for those us outside of Maine.
Great video Dave. I’m surprised Commiefornia still allows tobacco shipments.
That is a good point - they may be in such a budget crisis that they simply cannot take any revenue source off the table anymore?
It’s time to find solutions. The truckers took matters into their own hands, perhaps they are a solution for shipping tobacco.
Great video Dave hope you have a great day
Thanks for the Video and your opinion. I like most think you are spot on. Pipe On
Thanks! Thanks for being part of the channel!!
Dave you’re right! I voted with my feet. Moved from MD to NC. So far I’m not regretting it. Like your divorce video, I did this to preserve my marriage. Lol. TN was just too far from her children. ✌️🥃💭
I moved from Seattle to Maryland in 1991 to preserve my marriage. 33 years later I don't regret it, but I do not like Maryland.
It's always a good idea to have a large amount of tobacco in the cellar.
Large! Right on.
Hello Dave,
“SIN” tax 😂
Thank you for the topic information. I agree on budget a cellar and to go deeper is smart.
That is literally what it is called in the legislation process.
I live in the Communist state of Washington. 95% sales tax at a B@M. We cannot receive tobacco out of state. I truly believe if you want tobacco now you had better get it soon. I too, can see a ban for the USPS shipping tobaccos. Im 70 years old and I am pissed that some smart ass, snot nosed 30 year old legislator telling me that smoking is bad for you. Who's greasing his pockets.
I grew up in Everett, WA - went to college at PLU in Tacoma. What part of WA are you in? WA has been a communist state for a long time. I live in the People's Republic of Maryland.
I live on Whidbey Island. I got here courtesy of the USN. I retired here and my kids went to school and graduated from the high schools. I was pretty happy here but it's really blue here and I dont mean just the sky. thanks for responding. My Daughter and Son graduated from SPU. Boy has that college gone woke. Sad to see that but it's like cancer it really spreads.
All colleges have gone woke. I have spoken to the PLU student body on a few occasions and they too are gone and over the cliff now. Whidbey Island!! Love that place. I spent a lot of time on Bangor and on the USS Henry Jackson as an IT guy - they were a major account for me.@@NAVIETVET72
The ever-increasing regulation of tobacco is assured; with the restrictions being justified through the predictable guises of public health, environmental concerns and/or racial inequality.
_Also:_
Is the Chevelle that I caught a glimpse of at the beginning of the video a SS 502?
Yes it is!
@@PiperDave2023 Excellent.
As always, a great (and important) video. Things will need to get legal. Maybe, a right to smoke group needs to be organized. Who did the fighting in Maryland?
Fighting for online wine and alcohol sales came from the general public. That won't happen for tobacco - particularly pipe tobacco - sales.
@@PiperDave2023 Yeah. I’m figuring that we’re going to need the support of our community, the Pipe manufacturers, and tobacco companies on this. Maybe even lighter, firearm, alcohol, other indirectly affected companies as well.
Well done, Dave. Thanks for a great video.
Somebody has say this stuff right?
New to the channel, im rather paranoid about the future of tobacco as i am 21, i actually have started growing my own tobacco because they are not going to tell me i cannot use it.
Love your attitude - nice! Welcome to the channel - thanks for being a part of it. Dave
Very timely video and I think you’re on to something with the “war on masculinity “
I get no credit for coining that phrase. Toxic masculinity has been one vector of the attack for a long time now.
That’s why I’ve been stocking up on tobacco. And jarring them all
Yes! Stock and jar. Stock and jar. Your mom is going to think you’re insane.
@@PiperDave2023 oh they already think that after all the pipes and tobacco I’ve purchased this month!
Hey Dave! Great video on the tobacco shipping information. I appreciate the update. Can we just come shop at your paddock?😂 Just kidding. Happy Smoking!
We are going to have to go with "no" on that one. Generosity does have its boundaries right!!?
Excellent video Dave!💪🏻
Thank you!!
I’m new to pipe smoking and just subscribed to your channel. I like your thoughts on “prepping” tobacco. However some are saying one shouldn’t cellar aromatics. I’m curious how you feel about this.
Welcome to the channel! Thanks for subscribing and for being a part of this. I have heard the same thing - that jarring aromatics does not preserve them well. I can only say that I do it and have some that have been in jars for over a year now with absolutely no loss of taste or aroma.
Well said and spot on!
Somebody has to say this shit out loud right?
@@PiperDave2023 yep for sure
Great video Dave. In Indiana we have to pay OTP Tax which is Other Tobacco Products. And state excise tax. On top of state sales tax. On a recent order of 1# and 1 tin of tobacco and a Falcon pipe totalling $130 I had to pay $30 tax. And it just keeps getting worse. An order from another company was $160 in product and $40 in taxes. Never be cheaper than it is today for sure. Masculinity is almost forbidden in today's society. Fxxx them I will not conform. I just work harder and more hours to pay for what I want. Just like all you strong men.
I love that - f them and do not conform. I am right there with you brother!! Great comment. Horrible taxes - only going to get worse.
Quite uh, interesting ideas there
Freaking woke ass world! Too bad someone else knows what is better for me than I do! A friend of mine owns a farm in Kentucky that was a tobacco farm forever and now grows hemp because our government chocked out tobacco so the farmers are trying to survive and doing what they must.
No crop is as profitable as tobacco to the farmer - so sad to kill that industry and make farming just that much harder.
Like the pipe, and the cars!!
Thanks - I need to do some car content - as soon as the weather gets a bit better.
Dedollarise the companies that mess around... let them find out! It's always a good idea to buy as much as you can store, taxes alone increase here twice yearly!
All governments live their tobacco tax! Bastards.
@@PiperDave2023 that they are
You have it easy in the US compared to Canada or many other countries….
So true - we can see our future in you.
@@PiperDave2023 Yeah … us Canadians often rely on our US brethren to send tobacco care packages … as it just cannot be found up here. Sad … one can drink themselves into oblivion, and that’s perfectly fine. However, enjoying a relaxing pipe is far too dangerous lol.
Drinking feeds the pharma system - pipe smoking does not ...@@RichardT2112
Thanks for the info.
Replacement parts…..clothing……books…..list whatever. 😡
I put something else in the box and only list that and get no argument so far.
Me too but officially that is a federal crime when we do it shipping with the USPS.
@@PiperDave2023 yeah I don't use them
Utah...sooo....yeah. smh
Very good video sir, I live in communist Washington State, everything California does, Washington, and Oregon eventually follow suit. Here in Eastern WA. Brick and Mortar tobaccanists are almost extinct. I have one store locally Thankfully. He sells Pipe Tobacco but is predominantly a cigar store. He will only carry Cornell and Diehl so all the other blends out there are not available to me. He in WA, we can not ship across even county lines. Totally Pathetic. This was an important video, I hope many people get the opportunity to watch it. Thanks for being out here. Regards, Doc.
I grew up in Everett. Very familiar with WA. It’s funny how red the state is except for the Everett - Seattle - Tacoma corridor. King County murders any shot at reasonable politics out there. What part of Eastern WA do you live in? I spent quite a bit of time in Spokane.
I'm in California East aka Massachusetts. They banned flavored tobacco to stop vaping. Because of course, vape is somehow tobacco. I don't smoke many aromatics but I can't stand the government when they push alcohol and pharmaceuticals etc. Stand strong brothers and the we will always have the black market
@@PiperDave2023 I live in Tri-Cities Richland specifically, born and raised here, I also lived in Spokane, most of mu siblings still live there, I also worked for Banner Fuel back then. Did you ever have a chance to go to the flour mill, and visit Tobacco World? They are an excellent tobacconist, however they also can not ship to me here. I would have to go up there. I no longer drive so I do not get up there as much. But what a fantastic shop, I spent hours there.
@@PiperDave2023 Sorry Piper Dave 2023, somehow I do not think I replied correctly to your question, 7mdays ago you were kind enough to reply to a comment I ,are, and asked where 8n Washington State I am at, I replied but I think I did it incorrectly. I think I have it figured now. Anyways, I live in Richland Washington, part of what is called the Tri-Cities, in Benton County. As far as conservative counties Benton is one of just a few now, in Washington. We would leave if we could, but that is not possible right now. We re surr9unded by commies on every side it seems, even here in Richland which was mostly conservative when I was a kid, now we have had more of the cool aid drinkers here. It make me sad and sick at the same time. Anyways, I felt I owed you a reply, since you were kind enough to ask where in Washington I am at. Love your content, and I sincerely appreciate you being out here. With kind Regards, Doc
