    Another great battle with Tom Cockerill who qualified on pole with a frighteningly quick lap of 1:43.2, this time the result going my way, so after 2 rounds we each have 1 win, 1 pole and 1 fastest lap!
    I think we managed some really good clean racing, we lost several laps to a safety car incident but I suspect we were both grateful for the rest! I need to start defending the inside line, not the outside, as the same mistake cost me at Oulton!
    Onwards to Thruxton in 3 weeks time....

    Awesome race! Just out of interest, do these cars have ABS? And how much brake pressure do you use for each braking zone?

      Hi. No ABS or any other driving aids. Managing the brakes is one of the hardest aspects of driving these, the master cylinder is crap, the pedal throw is overly long making H&T difficult, and they need constant bleeding. From next year the Academy cars will have the uprated master cylinder which should be a big improvement.

      @@chrisskillicorn2506 Haha, knew it. Crazy track. The second half is all just about staying close to enough to make a pass on the first half when you have the tow. See you at Thruxton mate.

    top job mate.... are damages included in the race package?

    • @chrisskillicorn2506
      @chrisskillicorn2506  Год назад

      Hi , damages are not included no, you can get insurance but it’s not cheap ie 2 or 3 thousand pounds for a season IIRC

      @@chrisskillicorn2506 fair enough... is this done with a team so you arrive and drive or you have to take care of logistic/setups/etc...

    • @chrisskillicorn2506
      @chrisskillicorn2506  Год назад

      @@davicci975 lots of stuff online about “Caterham Academy”, take a look. You can get team help with setup, coaching etc on track and test days but you’re not allowed external support at race weekend in the Academy or Roadsport. If you have mechanical issues or crash then Caterham provide direct support (you pay parts only) to get you back on track ASAP.

    Excellent work Chris. Great to see the footage after following only the telemetry yesterday. You and Tom Cockerill are in a class of your own! BTW what are the restraints on your wrists? A type of HANS device for arms?

    • @chrisskillicorn2506
      @chrisskillicorn2506  4 года назад

      Cheers Grant. The wrist straps are connected to the harnesses. They prevent your arms being extended beyond the roll cage in case of a rollover.
