Such an awesome build. We all definitely want to see updates on this one. It’s the diesel that makes this truck so cool. The wheelbase, lift, tire size all go really well together!
I did a Cummins swap ... I love the way the Cummins Starts, and the best part is when you feed her fuel and she starts building boost and power The Hummmmmmin Cummins !!!!!
It's been fun watching Josh get more and more comfortable around the camera over time. And his joy when that Cummins started (and on that first drive) was awesome! He's like a kid in a candy store. Good on you Rudy for helping make his dream truck come to life! 👍🏼 I also couldn't help but chuckle at the contrast of Rudy getting out of that big ol' truck at the end and walking over to his daily driver for the ride home. 🤣
My favorite part is... just to see an old truck being brought back to life and knowing it will be a true workhorse. The look on Josh's face is priceless. I want to see more as he progresses with this project.
I'm an old Diesel mechanic... You boys did a fantastic job!!!!!!!!!! I have a GMC 6000 and I want to do the same thing to it... Now I know where to come for help. I'm 60yrs years old and can't do it all anymore.. GOOD JOB GUYS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Really!!!!
Excellent! ... a great build on a very cool truck, you guys are doing an awesome job on this project. the craftsmanship going into this build with Josh's vision, Rudy's fabrication of components and all the guys pitching in with labor is really fun to watch. Y'all might want to start wearing rubber gloves in the shop. Trust me, your burgers and fries will taste much better!
I wanted to see this before Matt's video. Way to go guys!!! The truck came out amazing!!! Rudy kicked it out of the park with the designs and fabbing. I love the report of the highway cruising. Nothing beats a relaxing drive when you want to get somewhere and not feel like you can't go as fast as you'd like.
The Cummins engine with the exhaust pipe starting from 2 1/2” , 3” to 4” blowing the black smoke with all that power . The ford truck is looking awesome there gentlemen , good job . 👍🏽
Love the diesel in that truck y’all built. Looks and drives great. My first truck was an F250 Super Cab with 155” wheelbase. Mine had a360 V8 and didn’t have enough power to get out of its own way. It was like trying to park a fire truck in a Kmart parking lot. After seeing your project, I wish I had never sold it. I enjoy all your videos. Thanks.
The Ford Highboy is my all-time favorite Ford pickup. My dad was a Ford guy and had a 70 and years later 72 and I really like them. I personally am a Mopar enthusiast and I love how you combined The Best of both worlds in this truck, it's totally badass!
It's a good idea to have the exhaust get larger as you go aft since the pressure in the exhaust is dropping as it flows aft, so a bigger volume pipe gives it room to expand without increasing backpressure.
The Best Thing about the Truck is y'all put that old iron back on the road better than it was before. Seem like I saw a show about something like that? Weird, Like you can rebuild it Better than before. Stronger Faster than it was before ✓
Always handy to have some sticks around for those gasless times. Really wanna see how close the drive shaft gets to the tank when the diff is fully stuffed. (Max load / flexed out on each side) Love the flat bed vs a truck bed. Truck beds are so useless compared to SUV or flat bed, stuff gets stolen, everything gets wet or blows out and covers or shells suck vs suv or proper flat bed. Suprised there aren't more in the states. V popular in Aus.
Do up the inside much as you want. That's where your spending your time. Be comfortable. But, for me, I wouldn't paint the outside. That rough outside is like callouses on the hands. It shows it works long and works hard. 🙂 Can't wait to see how the rest turns out.
I loved seeing stoic serious Josh from the first couple videos smiling and beaming with excitement! That is one awesome truck and he seems so happy with it!
Tremendous! Good job all of you! I would say the best part is a resurrection of old steel and making it usable! Plus how well you all did working together!
My favorite part is the extended cab - not a flatbed guy, not a cummins guy, not a ford guy really. But I have a TON of respect for that truck, good job folks!
Awesome build. So many things that truck will be able to do. A slide on camper for hunting.. goose neck hitch for hauling cows/horses etc or a car or two. It's like the perfect farm/ranch truck. The Ford Extra Cab design and the flat bed works so well... adding the Cummins... perfect... And I'm a 7tree fan...
The whole thing is my favorite part, it’s awesome! Only thing is need is an old school WARN 8274 winch on the front. I sure hope you do that instead of putting on a Badlands.
@@jdougn2255 I'd go old school and put a PTO winch in. No waiting for electric motors to cool down or fail from water intrusion. With the PTO mounted on the side of the transfer case you put the case in neutral and have engine throttle and as many speeds as the transmission has available. While the electric with their remote controls are nice I really miss the rugged durability and ability to run non-stop all day long with a properly setup PTO winch which to me is important on a Farm Truck. With the PTO winch you take a break when your tired and not every time the winch, wiring and alternator needs to cool down. Best!
CALL JEGS OR SUMMIT. I'm sure they have something or can point you in the right direction about a clutch assembly. Oem style universal is kinda what your lookin for brother
This is the best build on the internet right now in my opinion. - I would preserve the patina and not paint it. - I would put duraliner on the truck bed, and possibly all the underside frame components (salt barrier) - I would put rear-facing lights on the headache rack - IT NEEDS A PROPER GUNRACK
My favorite part is a Cummins that hasn't started in a while coming to life! The anxiety of it cranking then finally barking the first time will never grow old for me! I was factory trained on the 24's but still love all inline 6 cyl diesels. Nice job!
Yall did a great job Mr Rudy. I know the feeling when you big your first truck. I understand how he feels. You just want hammer down. Keep on trucking!
Hard to put a favorite but did appreciate having to reinforce the frame to overcome that weakness just like we had to back then when putting them to heavy use. Best!
Favorite part? Uhhmm dentside ford.cummins.Stick shift. Solid axle. Flatbed. All of it....the answer is ALL OF IT
I concur
Good answer!
Such an awesome build. We all definitely want to see updates on this one. It’s the diesel that makes this truck so cool. The wheelbase, lift, tire size all go really well together!
What year is that?
Favorite part is that you guys built it together,....fulfilling Josh's dream truck since he was a kid......good friends...😊😊😊
the Cummins and the smile on Josh's face were my two favorite parts of this series. He looked so pleased. Great job guys!
Josh's smile said it all. Great build guys.
Josh looking like a kid on Christmas morning.
Rudy the smile on Josh's face is proof all the hard work was definitely worth it
I have my favorite part ,is three young men making a great friendship and one Great Truck ! Well Done
The smiles on Josh's face. Probably my favorite haha
Man, I can’t even imagine how josh feels! One of your best pieces of work so far Rudy you guys are really stepping it up!
This is like the ultimate build.
Manual transmission, 12v Cummins, solid axle, all in a old school ford extra cab 👌🏻
Josh looks like he enjoys both kinds of music. Country and Western 😁 We love seeing the smile on his face as his dream comes together 👍🏼
Seeing a long held dream come true is my favorite part. That, and the first start up and drive. Nothing like it.
There is nothing so permanent as temporary wiring that works.
I did a Cummins swap ...
I love the way the Cummins
Starts, and the best part is when you feed her fuel and she starts building boost and power
The Hummmmmmin Cummins !!!!!
It's been fun watching Josh get more and more comfortable around the camera over time. And his joy when that Cummins started (and on that first drive) was awesome! He's like a kid in a candy store. Ride height is perfect for the tall guy, and I love that repurposed fuel tank
Favorite part..... bringing new life to old metal. Truck turned out great.
Now that's a Truck.. built for doing truck things. It looks tough and it functions like it should. A+
I absolutely love that truck! 🛻
Gotta love Rudy, "Don't let it go to your head"
My favorite part is that y'all did it together all by yourselves friendship that's the key
the best thing about the truck is two life buddies built it togather
My favorite part is... just to see an old truck being brought back to life and knowing it will be a true workhorse. The look on Josh's face is priceless. I want to see more as he progresses with this project.
My fav part is a twofer, the sound, and the stance!
My favorite part? The builder 😆 !!!
Really!!!!
Joshes face says it all man 3 friends building a dream truck and a forever friendship
Rudy I managed a repair shop for 25 years and know that people who have your skills are very rare! You are very talented!
My favorite thing about the truck, is that you and your friend built it. 👍🏻👍🏻
I’m not sure if Josh is happy about it yet. 🤣
It looks great and will only look better when Josh gets all the remaining details completed.
The body, engine, stance and wheels. The truck will look really nice once painted.
I love how excited Josh is about that truck. Great build guys!
That must be such an awesome feeling - when all the hard work is rewarded with a truck that just runs well!!! Congrats!!!
Favorite part - nice to see it fit the height of its owner! Love big rigs!!!
Best part is that friends are building a really cool truck and that 5.9 Cummins, what great memories are made.
Favorite Part: Old ford with a Cummins! I have a 79 f250 standard cab 4x4 and would love to do that! Dream truck!
Favorite part is Josh's face on the first test drive. PRICELESS
Excellent! ... a great build on a very cool truck, you guys are doing an awesome job on this project. the craftsmanship going into this build with Josh's vision, Rudy's fabrication of components and all the guys pitching in with labor is really fun to watch.
Y'all might want to start wearing rubber gloves in the shop. Trust me, your burgers and fries will taste much better!
Such a great build series. How happy your lifelong friend was at the end. Priceless.
Nothing like that first start up! Congrats!

Fine job guy's, that truck turned out AWESOME!!!! I know Josh is really happy with it. And I can't wait to see it done. Thanks for the video guy's.
Cummins dentside is such a dream truck. You can tell Josh is in love.
I love all of it you guys built my dream truck ,it's absolutely gorgeous.
The Cummins engine with the exhaust pipe starting from 2 1/2” , 3” to 4” blowing the black smoke with all that power . The ford truck is looking awesome there gentlemen , good job . 👍🏽
My favourite part of the truck is the sound.
That truck is so freaking cool! Nice job!!
You guys built a sweet truck! Cant beat the sound of a Cummins
Currently the coolest build on youtube
Best partis truck is on the road and you 3 amigos make a great team .like Zach’s dry short comments and his laugh
I actually want one now. I have never wanted one before, but seeing this completed made me rethink that. Job well done, guys!
Josh is very excited about his truck. It sounds good and looks good.
That classic Ford extra cab and the Cummins..so much personality in this old rig.
You guys done good. A bunch of happy campers.
Awesome video! Couple old friends making dreams come true.
a whole better welding then before. Josh you are getting better

Great video Rudy. All good friends working (playing) together shareing in the joy of the successful build. Nice job guys.
It's a good idea to have the exhaust get larger as you go aft since the pressure in the exhaust is dropping as it flows aft, so a bigger volume pipe gives it room to expand without increasing backpressure.
WOW!! what a truck! Great job boys!!! …and my favorite part is the TRUCK! “FAST ON RACE DAY” FORD!!
That truck is the total package. 🍻
Awesome Custom suspension mounts, super stout and artistically designed. Form and Function!!!!
The Best Thing about the Truck is y'all put that old iron back on the road better than it was before. Seem like I saw a show about something like that? Weird, Like you can rebuild it Better than before. Stronger Faster than it was before ✓

The truck is experienced but I love it .
I loved seeing stoic serious Josh from the first couple videos smiling and beaming with excitement! That is one awesome truck and he seems so happy with it!
Kinda amazing how well it's turned out, good work guys......
Can't wait to do this to my 89 crew cab.. just need to find a 4x4 stick trans..already got the 1992 12v
Guys, the truck rules. Good job.
Tremendous! Good job all of you! I would say the best part is a resurrection of old steel and making it usable! Plus how well you all did working together!
The best thing about this diesel is there's no bs epa crap on it. Will last a lot longer and more reliable.
Josh and crew, congrats, it looks great!
Looks great! You guys do great work together! I really dig the patina! Don't paint if possible, just smooth it out and hit it with some clear.
That work of art deserves a vintage Train Air Horn
My favorite part is the extended cab - not a flatbed guy, not a cummins guy, not a ford guy really. But I have a TON of respect for that truck, good job folks!
The comments are full of love for Josh, Something to think about Rudy
The stance is perfect
Awesome build. So many things that truck will be able to do. A slide on camper for hunting.. goose neck hitch for hauling cows/horses etc or a car or two.
It's like the perfect farm/ranch truck. The Ford Extra Cab design and the flat bed works so well... adding the Cummins... perfect... And I'm a 7tree fan...
I am a sucker for a 70's ford truck. I like the flatbed and no dinging.
No dinging! Looks great.
The whole thing is my favorite part, it’s awesome! Only thing is need is an old school WARN 8274 winch on the front. I sure hope you do that instead of putting on a Badlands.
An 8274 winch would match the vibe of that old Ford a lot better!

Agree...!save the patina!
Man I love that truck , it’s what I learned to drive on !
Bump sides and dent sides are always my favorite brings back fond memories!
My favorite part is a Cummins that hasn't started in a while coming to life! The anxiety of it cranking then finally barking the first time will never grow old for me! I was factory trained on the 24's but still love all inline 6 cyl diesels. Nice job!
Man this is an amazing build. I think the way the tray looks on it and the suspension components you designed. Extra little details are amazing.
It’s going to take a week to get the smile off Josh’s face.
If you ever want to see one already done, and how I did things, feel free to reach out!
Yall did a great job Mr Rudy. I know the feeling when you big your first truck. I understand how he feels. You just want hammer down. Keep on trucking!
Looks great. Such a great build series!
Cant wait to see once its fully done with all the bells and whistles!
Turned out amazing!! Ti see Josh smile like that u know that truck will be loved by him
Josh's dad is going to look cool in his second going to town rig.
Favorite: 12 valve with an NV4500
Great work you guys. Nothing but love for a custom fummins !!!!! I am looking forward to seeing the final finish work.
Hard to put a favorite but did appreciate having to reinforce the frame to overcome that weakness just like we had to back then when putting them to heavy use.
Best!
Wow, Colorado City has changed a bit. Awesome job on the Ford project.
Good to hear a 12 valve rippin!!
Amazing job guys!
"Why would anyone ever need a truck" --- Asked no farmer ever. --- Thanks for the great upload, guys.
