And you're right, she's transported by her music, which is why we don't just hear every song she sings, we feel it. Nightbird and I Know You By Heart are great songs like Autumn Leaves. She has some blues/jazz songs, Blues In The Night, Stormy Monday, You've Changed, and some spiritual songs, Had I A Golden Thread, How Can I Keep From Singing, and People Get Ready. She has so many other great songs, too. I think you'll love them all.
The lyrics of this song use the changing seasons as a metaphor for losing someone. Remembering the the happy, warm days of Summer, then you see the leaves begin to change colour and fall in Autumn and you have the realisation that Summer has gone and Winter is soon coming. Beautiful words. I always thought George Harrison’s Here Comes The Sun was a good sequel to this… it’s been a long, cold, lonely Winter but Summer always returns.
It's rare when someone can sing and play the guitar with the same emotional intensity and sensitivity at the same time. Eva was so good at putting her raw emotion into both her playing and singing, especially in this song and "Over the Rainbow" especially both are among my very special all time favorites. I'm as sucker for an acoustic guitar anyway but teamed with Eva's heartfelt emotional arrangements there is just not much better for me when I really need to feel in touch with my emotions as well. Such a loss to the world.

I just don't know why Angelina Jordan is compared to Eva. Nothing similar between them both. Angelina is good but, Eva is great.
