The only thing that’s more OP is ww1 chemical gasses
I think they removed it from the irl serv--- ohh you mean hoi4
Acckshualiy chemical gasses only caused 91 thousand deaths in WW1. Out of the 20 million total deaths, that isn't really that OP. 🤓
And dog farts.
@@Kozkayn yeah, gas was more a support and mental threat.
Yes, especially if you put it in artillery shells
Yes! Run at Machineguns with horses. Truly the best strategy in ww1
You know, mounted infantry with grenades and rifles doesn't sound too awful.
Of course, charging cavs is debatable.
@@tyvamakes5226 machine gun in trench go brrrr
@@subtrik4575 what trench?🤣
@@TheArklyte it's a joke lmao
@@subtrik4575 The idea is that you're so fast that the enemy doesn't have time to fully entrench, and where they do entrench, they're not able to do so across the entire line so you just go around them and encircle their trenches.
Ah yes the horse a.k.a the first blitzkrieg
Hörsekrieg
@@sherluckholmes1110 youtube translate that into hearing war 🤣
@@arstozka_greatest_country lol really?
@@sherluckholmes1110
Technically The German word for Blitzkrieg in English Means Lightning War.
I did some research and RUclips thought the word Hörse was the German Word Hörde which if translated to English, is translated as "Hearing".
That's why RUclips made it "Hearing War"
Due to Hörde and Krieg
Every time Stakuyi posts it makes my day.
Makes sense that Poland could fight back against Russia in a video about horses
(Winged Hussars)
(I don’t know if Poland ever actually used the winged hussars against Russia in real life, but still)
Poland almost conquer moscow. But winter and politics and rusia advance backward tactics.prevent it.
@@kaka09876543210 what 💀
It's hussars that rode into moscow in 1610 brah
The Hussars have definitely killed some Russians.
Poland captured Moscow with Winged Hussars and nearly had Polish King's Son crowned Tsar.
I kinda want to see a video where you just pick your favorite country and explain historically accurate parallels from your game to reality. Maybe not a whole game but like a 10 minute video would be neat.
In the Great War redux mod Stakyui found a way to bring MLP 🤣
EaW has changed him for better or worse
oh my God, this guy is perfect, a shorts channel about history and a long videos channel about HOI4, I'm crying of happiness rn.
Even though I can't wait for the new OWB video, this was a great watch as well. I haven't actually seen too many RUclipsrs cover this mod lately and you're a great creator for covering these kinds of mods.
Great watch and thanks for all the good content!♥️💛💙
This is technically two pony videos in a row, and I am all for it.
But really, what was the battle/encounter/massacre that made everyone realize Cavalry was useless?
In WW1? That's an interesting question because there is no single battle or action that made cavalry totally useless. The traditional roles of cavalry (i.e. massed formations used to break through infantry) was diminished almost immediately. The battle of Halen and the Battle of Mons showed that shock cavalry were too vulnerable to small arms and artillery in entrenched positions. To quote Maximilian von Poseck in the aftermath of the Battle of Halen:
"The brigade is destroyed.... Rode in against infantry, artillery and machine-guns, hung up on the wire, fell into a sunken road, all shot down."
Cavalry would still play a role in the war, as Cavalry adapted to the times to be more of a force of mobile infantry than the traditional shock cavalry. The Eastern Front would see much more use of cavalry because of the large distances often involved in the fighting, though the Western Front saw it's share in the later years of the war when trench warfare started to break down. It was really after the war when everyone started to see the advances in tactics and technology that arose from the war that cavalry really started to lose it's place on the modern battlefield, to be replaced by trucks and armored fighting vehicles.
The invention of armored cars. And TONKS.
"How the FUCK did poland get Luxemburg"
Sounds like modded hoi4 to me.
*Doing ww1 to escape the ponies.*
*Useing horses.*
"a couple little rebalances, different things for focus trees, etc."
that is quite the understatement on how much is changed between og TGW and TGW:R
1)cavalry works fine unless the enemy has entrenched positions. Which they don't. Because nobody prepared for defensive stalemate;
2)cavalry in HoI4 also represents dragoons, who bring their own MGs along. The only thing they lack is mobile artillery support ie ability to break through emplacements, fortifications and trenches;
3)western front and eastern front of WWI were quite different. That's why on the former tanks evolved while on the latter it was all about heavy armored cars... _/looks at massive armored beast of Putilov-Harford compared to Schneider and FT-17/_ ...or I guess more correctly to call some of them wheeled tanks;)
TLDR inability of cavalry to cross defenive lines is "balanced"(or is it unbalanced in this case?) by the fact that there is none prepared. Cavalry just outruns ability of opposition's command to react and give out orders(and to believe that they are losing) to entrench to units further and further in their rear:D
Well, it is HOI4. There are NO machine guns.
And AI is imbecile.
@@alexzero3736 1)show me better AI for games on this engine
2)wtf do you mean by "there are no MGs"?
@@TheArklyte on paradox copyrithed engine? Very fucking funny. But you can always install expert A.I. mod.
Literraly, No MGs. There are only nominal infantry weapons which receive bonuses from tech level. Machine Gun is more than +5% defense, it was able to keep waves of infantry away...
@@alexzero3736
1)so the answer is no? Thx for admitting it
2)and again the answer is that there are MGs, you're just whiny? Thx for admitting it x2
@@TheArklyte what s wrong with you? Can't read?
These clearly weren't horses, they were KRIEGSTEEDS.
"In life, war. In death, peace. In life, shame. In death, atonement."
Yes, horses were OP during WW1. Forget attacking machine guns over an open field. French cavalry under general Jouinot-Gambetta launched a massive attack in september 1918, from Macedonia to the Danube. The 3000 riders took the fortress of Uskub, forcing Bulgaria out of the war, captured the German 11th army and put massive pressure on the Gerlam High Command.
In less than two months, they charged over 800 kms and left friendly units so far behind that it took reinforcements several weeks to reach them. Because of this, the cavalry only learned of the armistice on the 15th of November.
So yeah, horses are OP
If you do another Great War run, may I suggest doing a run as the United States run by either William Taft or Teddy Roosevelt?
Teddy Roosevelt was so incredibly based. There's a story of him visiting the prototype 1903 springfield, destroying it with ease. And telling the people making them that his troops will not go into combat with weapons day brittle
Funfact: cavalry was infact more effective than infantry in ww1, even on the western front. Taking signifcanlty less casualties for the same ground taken.
The problem was there was a limited supply of horses, which needed to be used by artillery, logistics and cavalry. And cavalry was even more important for counter attacks than regular attacks, so the cavalry tended to be reserved, or fight as infantry, to preserve the horses.
Hoi4 should really add a horse 'manpower' pool.
For anyone interested in reading how cavalry actually preformed on the western front 'Kenyan Horsemen In No Man's Land, British Cavalry & Trench Warfare 1914-1918' provides reliable sources to counter rmany of the myths.
Well, cavalry as mobile infatry would play a big role in WW2.
If anything, commanders held their cavalry back to much. A commander like JEB Stuart would have fared well in WW1 I believe
Machine gun:
Am I a joke to you
Madsen carried by dragoons and Maxim mounted on tachanka:
You have any problems with that?
*cavalry taking barley any casualties from machineguns in ww1 irl* yes you are a joke.
Like seriously, machineguns alone proved ineffective against cavalry, they needed close mortar or artillery support to give cavalry a hard time.
Cavalry could, and did, successfully charge machineguns (and infantry that outnumbered them signifcanlty) across open ground with low casualties. So long as the defenders did not call in defensive artillery in the path of the attack.
We are talking like ~4% killed during such attacks where there were no defensive use of artillery.
Infact we see British cavalry become more effective throughout the war on the western front, as German defensive tactics shifted to be more effective against infantry they became more vulnerable to cavalry. (Kenyan Horsemen In No Man's Land, British Cavalry & Trench Warfare 1914-1918
Cavalry had their own machine guns and horse artillery. Horse artillery in particular could take out enemy MGs quite reliably. Also, an extended order line really isnt very vulnerable to MGs in particular
1:44 false, its not the machine guns that were effective against cavalry. Tripod machine guns were actually very ineffective against cavalry in both world wars.
Its things like mortars, artillery and direct fire cannons which mounted cavalry struggled against. But even then cavalry could and did fight as mounted infantry allowing them to be like infantry but with more ammo and heavy weapons.
Ahhh yes, send out waves of living flesh until the enemy run out of bullets, very ww1
It'd be cool if after the war, if you go down the historical paths, it flips you to the basegame paths.
Like rise of evil, it can flip you to the German Reich tree under Hitler's area. Or if you go down democratic n such, it flips to that tree but under that tree.
And you keep the bonuses from the world war 1 era
Horses: appears
MGs and Barb wires: güten tag
I would want to insert one clarification.
The reasson why cav worked for bulgaria , is basicly because of one man.
He used cav as horse driven motorised infantry .
Using the ireland expanded mod can you take over the entire world and form the grand guiness empire?
I remembered something cool during my high school for metals that my teacher told me and the rest of my classmates that a Canadian diamond mine was under attack (don't remember who it was), the miners were trapped in the mine and they thought "hey we have a lot of metal around us why not create a canon and fight back" this is all I can remember.
3:42 if Austria Hungary is THAT girl, then I’ve been going steady with Austria-Hungary for 3 almost 4 years now 😂 I don’t know what that makes me though
Cavalry are fast, so if they have to do a frontal attack, they aren't exposed to fire anywhere near so much as infantry advancing forward
My greatest achievement in hoi4 was in the great war mod when as Germany I took Paris and ended the war by 1915
I don't know how I think it was this 40 width calvary I had that just shattered French lines of defense
The horse apocalypse takes me back to battlefield 1
French men in Paris see a wave of maneating horses gallop from the east
Somehow, the Great War always start with the Habsburgs, either their heir got killed, or Germany decided to conquer them XD
that historically ironic 😂😂
How to win a war tutorial: Step 1. Make Stakuyi your war general Step 2. Prosper
Yes
Holy Roman Empire? That's the full Roman Empire with added DLCs lol 🤣
THis should be funny with the Ottoman empire, they got a focus to buff cav attack by 5% and even funnier with Italy, they have 3 focus, the first two giving cav +2% attack and 5% movement in forest, desert and urban, making them suck less there AND a huge buff +15% cav attack -5% cav defence and +10% cav speed.
Just tested it as italy fully pimped out.
25 width cav have 195 Softattack, 394 defense and 65 breakthrough
26 width infantry has 130 Soft attack 391 defense and 61 breakthrough
a lot of extra soft attack, same defence and a slight edge on breakthrough, plus 50% faster then infantry.
I love all the mod variety lately
Gives a whole new meaning to calling WW1 Germans "The Huns" 🤣
Keep it up, bud. Love your channels.
Hey stakuyi! Which templates do you use outside of this mod? (Vanilla, EaW etc.)
Right around 12:30 is the best part of the video lol!
1:55 The Holy Roman Empire is forcing me to? What if I tell you I'm a descendant of the first Holy Roman Emperor? Still I will be subscribing.
It’s like that one historical skit where they fight over Luxembourg
23:16 DEUS VULT
for the agdir crisis theres a decision to send ships to bypass the focus for it
It seems little Wilhelm learned from the Mongols 🤔
The Kaiser's program to train horses to field strip Mausers has paid dividends.
This needs to be continued and just rock through world.
Dread it, run from it, the ponies always arrive
I wasn't expecting to get so invested.
Obviously the horses had superior german steel horseshoes folded 1000 times which let them deflect the bullets.
Gosh he’s outing himself after flustering about unique facial hair
Never thought the Polaris and the Germans were going to be friends
Lore of Hoi4: WW1 Cavalry is The Most OP Weapon momentum 100
I love the idea of this mod but couldn't figure out good division templates. I think they changed the supply system drastically, because even 9 infantry + support engineers + support artillery gets red supply even when a supply depot is on the neighbouring tile. Even worse with heavier infantry, like 9 infantry + 4 howitzers which, according to my research is supposed to be the go-to offensive template.
Well it s WW1, time of scarce railroads.
Challenge: As Japan on historical
>Only Navy and Air force
>No Army for you
>Puppets only army
>Take all of Asia, Pacific and the rest
I’m actually sad that the other Great War mod has fallen by the wayside for the Redux version.
original great war mod has the worst focuses, germany has the basic focus tree+ it's so sad and boring.
why are you sad? it’s a way better mod
You underestimate it
I'm curious as to what would you do with China and the Qingplosion.
Mobile warfare? In my Dubya Dubya 1? It's more likely than you'd think.
@stakuyi please please to more old world blue’s please 🙏
save the tsar
I'm actually playing with the Metro mod in these days.
That's... That's a mod that deserves a lot.
It's probably a good thing this didn't actually happen in real life. Otherwise every Sabaton song would be about HRE cavalry.
This is Battlefield 1 logic
But he just did a video of all cavalry in HoI4.
Rough Riders go brrrrr
Play as modern day Georgia I DARE YOU 😂
Amazing vid ♥️
Ivan Kolev would be proud
Dude really got the same description for this cavalry run... which came from the other horse game
Buffs don’t add they multiply meaning this is even more op than he knows.
You can try to completely capitulate austria before the event goes away and get more
For someone claiming to not be a fan of MLP, you certainly like your horses.
The Great Redux is way better than the normal Great War mod. I mean I’ve won the war by 1915 in the redux mod.
All hail the glorious Polish-Luxembourgian Commonwealth!
very powerful tactic, just need to find how to make this many horses
Yea yea but where those horses coming from
you could try to Prove Esti is Scandi in hoi4
I like how you lost like 30 men from the Czechs like the Czechs couldn't aim properly and all of the casualtues were actually men falling of their horses and getting dragged
You forgot another which is the lighthorseman of Australia in the middle East
The Mongols would Approve of this
NO ONE HAS TALKED ABOUT HOW POLAND GOT LUXEMBOURG LMAO
The Khan would be proud!
Price of a mile 1 person seems like a good price to me
War Horse intensifies
please make a video where your cat is playing HOI 4, it would be amazing but hard to get him to stay and actually do anything.
The Order of Brothers of the German House of Saint Mary in Jerusalem Grindset be like:
Hello Stakyui I was wondering what would be the best helmet that I can paint purple to wear at my brother's wedding.
HMMMM strange, soviets took advice by using the first cav army extensively
Not making it historical was no mistake, I mean if it was historical we wouldn't have gotten this alternate version of Poland that can beat back Russia while also starving and a communist France.
I wanna be in the cavalry if they send me off to war….
I'm just here for Polish Luxembourg
I love spicy air
it was WW1...not the comeback of the mongols
Ignored rules: #1 in high school, don't stick your d--- in crazy. #2 In HOI4 don't try to stabilize Austro-Hungary....
Release the poles
I decided to redownload hoi4 for the mlp mod. I'm not good with mods so I ended up playing regular hoi4. I wished to conquer the world as a tiny backwater pony country.
You seem to pull ideas from comments a lot: what did musician's use for strings before steel?
I just cant get this mod running but i wish i could play this
