- Lyrics
Got a high pain tolerance,
Even though it gets me down.
I can't get to sleep at night,
My life's being turned around.
I've counted every reason,
Why I need to carry on.
I ain't got no religion,
Or a shoulder to cry upon.
I think I'll clear my senses,
Breathing in the night times chill.
The stars that shine above me,
Sooth my mind and all my ills.
I've travelled ever distance,
I think I've paid the price.
Took the path of least resistance,
And it wasn't always nice.
I've loved and lost,
Sweet dreams desire.
I swear that I've been cursed,
Every part of me hurts.
I take my medication,
I rattle when I walk.
I live in isolation,
I hardly ever talk.
To everyone who knew me,
To anyone who cares.
I've lived a life I'm happy with,
I'm glad I paid the fare.
You know I still believe in,
The fire that burns in me.
You’ll never see it,
Till I give it you for free.
Am I happy, Am I able,
I'll flip a coin on that.
My cards are on the table,
As I lay bare the facts.
I've lived a life I'm happy with,
I'm well known for my laugh.
It's loud and its proud,
I've never doubted that.
Am I happy, Am I able,
I'll flip a coin on that.
My cards are on the table,
As I lay bare the facts.
I like your songs and your releases !
This song brings me memories about "Hurt" from Jhonny Cash, maybe for the feeling of remembering, the music or the voice. But its a great song on his own style. Bravo!
Beautiful!
Vocal reminds me of Stuart Staples (Tindersticks) - but with MUCH better tuning. Fantastic arrangement - I love it when the pads/strings kick in. So evocative!
Aaand another great song, this time about acceptance (could we really have lived a different life ? or at the end this one perfectly suits us ?) ... I like how the song develops, especially when the background music kicks in, takes the melody to the next level. (i would even liked it louder, it's acceptance kicking in)
