- Here's a great beginner/intermediate Tommy Jarrell tune.
It is perfect for learning the "syncopated shuffle."
In this clip, I've broken down the syncopated shuffle as well as the tune with bowings. Enjoy.
Wonderful! I am inspired to keep learning. Keep posting!
thank you this was the exact technique i was looking for a demonstration of
This is such a great lesson. Well done. I wish I had seen this along time ago.
great video, good teacher
Love it!! I am just learning and yours is the best demo i have seen yet!
This is the only explanation of the syncoshuffle I've ever heard that made any sense. Very interesting, you are an exemplary teacher and when I get 1 / 1000th as good as you are I will attempt this song! tx for taking the time to post this!
What a coincidence! I was just working on this tune and decided to check out You Tube to see if I could find any similar versions. Amazingly, yours is JUST like the one I'm learning. What a coincidence, and how timely! ;^)
OMG this is so good ... hard but good. You're a great teacher David. Your explanations are so useful. I loved your class at Fiddle Tunes in July 2018. Waay beyond me but it made sense. Please keep doing these videos. There are no old time players where I am...but I'm determined to learn. This helps A LOT! Especially you saying the bow up-down and slowing it down.😃
Great Job David Bragger on breaking this down! I'm struggling a little bit one the part before the song where you are looping the syncopated shuffle. You said you take off the end part that is the 'down up', but when I'm listing it sounds like when you play it up to speed you are just playing a pushed down followed by two ups. Can you explain a little more exactly what you are playing when its up to speed? I'm banging my head on the desk here trying to break it apart! lol Thanks! :)
Good explanation, but he never actually plays the tune so we can hear how it should sound.
