Lu, THANK YOU!! THANK YOU!! THANK YOU!! I am a data hoarder, and did not even get the Amiga and ST stuff on yet before filling up a 128GB Micro SD card. I had just ordered a 256 earlier in the day, and thanks to you, I was able to cancel it and save the $$$. I am deleting the Assmbyly64 collection from my SD card now, as it ran out of space before fully copying over. You made the tutorial super simple to follow, and I can not wait till files are deleted so I can run the script. and continue. Thanks again!!
I haven't dropped the cash to buying a MiSTer yet... But this is getting more and more enticing all the time. Time to make it a priority and start budgeting for one to pick up in a few months. Thanks for the video. You're doing great!
Thank you for making this video.I heard the problem is when you whenever you do update_all then it messes up with the file structure. As soon as more cd based cores are being added a 1 tb micro add card won’t help that much anymore.
You're pretty much doing the same thing. You just have to make sure the folders you want are shared on Synology and RetroNAS and the appropriate permissions are set.
I pretty much use my network drive for CD ISO's, so I haven't tried the arcade games over the network. I can see how they can cause issues because you don't manually load the ROM in the core. I'll would have to create a separate video for loading the arcade games because it's not the same as PC and Console cores. Thanks for reminding me.
Great video, followed directions and sucessfully mounted a folder on Mister across network. Followed the same naming structure shown in vid for simplicity. My network mounted folders get placed in the root folder above the typical games folder. Not sure how to fix this.
In case anyone watching this has this issue, you can update where the folders are placed at the bottom of the cifs_mount script, where it says BASE_PATH. So my games folder it would be updated to say: BASE_PATH="/media/fat/games" Thank you for the video Lu, it was very helpful!
I believe that has to do with the file saved using windows line feeds. Download notepad++ it's free and before saving make sure "EOL Conversion" is set to "UNIX LF." That option is found in the "Edit" menu. Then select "EOL Conversion"
@@LusRetroSource Yes, that was it. I also posted the question on Reddit, and someone answered pretty quick, so I got it taken care of. Thank you again for the great videos!! I am loving this thing!!
Nice job 👍 Seems Mister development is really shifting up gears recently. Hear more Sega System 16 stuff due to drop soon also, which should be awesome. I'l l be looking to maybe pick up a Mister myself sometime in the near future - thanks for sharing the knowledge✌️

Thanks for the video. You're doing great!
Thanks! Go for it! You wont regret it!
Can you mount save folders this way so you can keep multiple misters in sync? 🤔
I just created a RetroNAS machine and this video answered all of my questions, thanks Lou!
That's awesome! I was waiting for a docker container to setup RetroNAS, but I'm just gonna setup a VM on my UNRAID server just to play around with it.
Another awesome video! I'm storing all of these away for when my MiSTer eventually does make it's way into my collection. :)
Awesome! Happy it can help you out in the future!

Someone, told me about a solution to this that wont overwrite the settings. I have to look for it and I'll do a short update on the fix.
@@LusRetroSource this is the future. Saturn and Playstation cores are coming.
thanks - I was hoping to run this off my Synology SAN - is that possible? Also ideas on the benefits of Retronas vs this method?

Gotta do this before the PS1 core is done. Thanks for the tutorial!
You're welcome! This will be so useful for PS1 games.
Got an video on how to get exodos on Mister? :D
What do you do about the update_all script for downloading MRAs, etc?

Thanks. Not sure why you're folders are being mounted in the root folder. I'll see if I can find out anything regarding this.
@@LusRetroSource I'll keep working on it thanks
I had this same issue. In "cifs_mount.sh" go down to "Advanced Options" and change your "BASE_PATH" to BASE_PATH="/media/fat/games"
