Much more powerful opening, strengthening the brand, finally. Now will someone at ITV tell ITN to use their awesome building for the backdrop of the newsroom, and not a green screen, (yes, we all know its not real, its looks fake) then ITV News will kick ass.
+Shaun Craig Parkinson I think the ITV Newsroom does not look good on screen. Remember from 2006-2009 its was the atrium view of ITN we saw and not the main news room, which is very cramped.
I will always love the ITV News theme as long as it retains this sort of tune reminiscent of my childhood, that's the reason I watch ITV News, because of the music haha But I truly miss 2010 ITV News and the Daybreak theme, was just beautiful
I have that and all the other library tracks by Dave Hewson and Johnny Pearson on a CD-R in The Shed in my back garden. There are quite a few arrangements, with both regional and national, all current.
Better titles and more of a punch to the theme music, but it's nothing on 1992-1999 and 2008-2009. It needs the old theme music (albeit maybe with a remix) and Big Ben at the centrepiece of the titles.
When it comes to punch, they nailed it on the closing sequence. They didn't want to focus on Big Ben too much as (apparently) people outside London find it off-putting - hence the cityscapes from all four capital cities.
Which was based off The Awakening. Note the beginning 5 hits, the main melody, the 6-part hits after that, and the ending notes leading into the reveal of the name.
+Ian Kenworthy ITV News want to make News at Ten a little bit more separate programme, as was the way in the older days of the programme. Making all the bulletins look the same as this would not make this programme that little bit special, stand out programme, the flagship bulletin of the day on ITV. That is why.
I would have liked them to have the skyline night time view of London as their background for News at Ten. Sorry, but London is News at Ten, all because Big Ben has been so much part of the programme since it began in 1967. All the fuss about being too London centric is nonsense. It gives it a better feel. Just look at the 1988-1992 and 2008-2009 look and you can see it fits the programme perfectly.
The running titles for the ITV News At Ten have evolved over the years. Here is a summary of the running titles for the program based on the search results: 1967-1983: The running titles during this era featured variations of the "News at Ten" logo. The clock face displayed the appropriate time, such as 10:08 if the bulletin started eight minutes later than scheduled. 1983-1985: The running titles during this period had a new design, featuring a bold and modern look. 1985-1988: The running titles continued to evolve with a refreshed design. 1988-1992: The running titles during this era featured further updates to the design. 1992-1999: The running titles during this period were associated with the ITV Nightly News, which replaced the News at Ten.
The original opening from 1967 was the best of the lot. It had pomp and ceremony to it and urgency as it zoomed in on the clock with the News At Ten title being shot into it. Bring it back. This one sucks big time.

Channel 4 got it right.
Yes, because they have the real thing and not a virtual version.
The slight change in the tune is verry nicely, and a nice mix was created between the old news at ten titles and the current design :D
This theme song is the only reason I listen to news

Why’s your channel called CBTVideos?

+John King Thank you for your explanation.
it's good to hear it
I prefer the 10 minute regional news opt out with the headline recap and newspaper previews at the end
Best news program in the UK!
Do people realise this is a tweak of the current theme and not news at ten theme of the past

We are bringing ITV and BBC-inspired news at one time!

pure Day Today
Preferred the 90s version with "From the Headquarters of ITN, this is news at Ten with Trevor McDonald"
Like elves or elves whats play
HYPE!!
My funeral song
Drums
Top 10 anime openings
I much preferred the older intro..much more dramatic.
This tune was taken note for note from the 1973 film Beyond Atlantis
It's taken from Johnny Pearson's Awakening and had been used on ITV since the 60s
It wasn’t. This is the original ITN/ITV News soundtrack taken from The Awakening. It’s been used by ITN since the 60’s
Joseph and today 😀

It's ITN news at ten not ITV news at 10. get it right ITV.
ITN name has not been used since 2002
John King I don't care about ITV. any more. I wish the 02 merger ever happened sorry.
Did I say I was happy with it? No I didn't.
Matthew Payton it's, ,ok
ITN is what supplies the ITV news with the news.
Not quite the 70-90s vibe
N3s
