An intense video out of Afghanistan shows a US Special Forces soldier getting treated for a serious gunshot wound and then walking off of his own volition.
This video is actually used as a military training aid for what to do right when things go wrong. As soon as the soldier is shot, he is moved to a relatively secure spot just behind the firing line. The medic immediately starts treating him for his severe bleeding. After applying the chest seal he then goes on to assess his casualty for further hemorrhaging while asking the wounded man about his breathing.
The soldier is quickly stabilized but must be moved even further back from the fighting to await MEDEVAC from the battlefield. Even though he is seriously wounded and drugged with morphine, he grabs his rifle and walks back to the casualty collection point. The medic then returns back to the frontline, ready to treat the next wounded man.
That medic is fucking squared away! Clear communication, establishing fire superiority, directing traffic, quickly assessing his pt and communicating his status, keeping his pt calm and focused, while the whole time staying cool and in control. This dude is a fucking beast!
Well, he's an 18D, so I would expect him to be on his shit. lmfao

Phenomenal footage. I hope the commando fully recovered
Chances are he's good. I thought about whether the op force had any evac or medical. Unlikely. Poor fucks.
The green beret is a brave guy along with all the others there, the medic kept some real control of the situation, saved that guys life and has probably done so many times. Hats off to all 🇬🇧
I like how after he heals him he's like "Zulu get up we gotta move" And he just sits up like the terminator and they start giving him his shit back. Insane
He clearly held down the square button to revive incapacitated teammate.
Morphine is quite literally a hell of a drug.
Kills him? When did he kill him that's the equivalent of just putting a Band-Aid on them. F out of here with that
Morphine and adrenaline is probably a damn good combo lol. Plus its not a good venue to show vulnerability
Morphine fucking rocks, there's a reason we have opiate addicts
It’s funny how the Medic trusted his wounded guy with his own gun way more than the coalition forces
It also mentally empowering for the wounded guy, "you got this" type deal
Like a freaking Viking!
Unless a person is completely out of the fight and could be a threat if they had their weapons, from shock. You always have a tool in your hands. Even your pistol is seen as a means to get you back to your rifle, it's an extension of you and lifeline.

@@m.m14433 I meant the commitment to keep your weapon on you in the face of death... Did you really not understand, or just being a troll?
These guys are cut from a different cloth. They were all so calm about the situation.
This medic reminds me of my dad. He was an EMT on an ambulance from 1988 to 1998. I remember when my sister broke her collar bone, or when I burned my arm bad or when my friend cut himself open, my dad is always the calmest person in the room. He never panics, no matter how bad the situation is or no matter how bad everyone else is freaking out. There is no better feeling than having someone so calm is working on you (or with you). I go to him about everything (medical or not). He always knows when to apply the right amount of seriousness and urgency while somehow providing the right amount of comfort. I told my dad about this one day and he just laughed. He said that he has anxiety too, he's just not good at showing it!
Anyways, a good medic is always the calmest one. You can trust your life in their hands.

These guys are like 10 times the man I could ever be.
Yea also they put up with all the torture in selection and training so this is nothing...
Calm, cool and collected, perfect communication and retreat..purple heart earned.
The realization that overcomes your body when your brain registers the fact that you've got a chest wound is a scary thing. The scariest feeling I've ever felt in my life. Knowing your life is now in the hands of some sort of higher power and time is the only thing that will tell whether you make it home or not, it's just a traumatic thing. If you survive, you think about it everyday. You replay it over and over. Much respect for this dude touching it out and getting on the move. Good thing he had the medic there and his comrads to push him to get up and get his legs working. Your body tells you the opposite. It tells you to just lay down and relax. But you have to fight that sometimes. You either fight, or you die. The only thing you need to force yourself to do is these types of situations, is move toward the help, or somewhere you'll be noticed in case you collapse and can no longer walk or get around. But that survival instinct kicks in and gives you an extra nudge. Well, assuming so. It was the case for me. But yea, what a fucking champ this guy is.

@@buckappel6835 I got that "rubber legs" feeling when I have had a severe anxiety spike, such as when I'm faced with something terrifying. I wonder if that's what made your legs go weak-- almost like a fight or flight panic. I hope you don't mind me asking. After I've had this feeling, ever since, I'm often troubled with what would happen to me if I were in danger and had to run. I have had my legs shake so badly that I was forced to stop walking as I knew I wasn't capable of walking. Almost like they get extremely weak but feel stiff as steel rods. It's terrifying.
