Your version is much stronger because it takes memorizing the magazines off the table. If I was doing the multiple editions, I would make a joke about stealing them from a doctor's office.
Yeah exactly. Every other version I’ve seen can be explained by “ he has a really good memory.” It’s unlikely anyone can memorize full magazines like that but more likely than mind reading so I didn’t like that it was a demonstration of amazing memory rather than amazing mentalism.
This is one of the better book tests out there, and it can be made at home inexpensively. Not only that, but you can refresh the props every 6 months so it always feels current. All around just super solid. Well done.

But the thing I really liked the most was the way you explain your mentalism script. This helps me a lot. After the convention I got my hands on prism and things like this really helps selling the tricks.

Rubber cement might be a great idea if you want to reuse the same cover on a newer magazine. Reader’s Digest might not have as many pictures but they are smaller and easier to carry around.

Spidey, I prefer your version. Not knowing the page number leaves the victim guessing as to how you can have ANY clue to what they're looking at. I'd use different magazines, but I'd be tempted to set the page selector one face down on the table when they're done, so there's slightly less chance they'd realize there's a discrepancy in the title and the name at the bottom of the page. The only thing I'd really want to be careful of is the first person seeing the inside covers and noticing that any full 2-page ads are mismatched. Maybe pick two magazines that have the same inside cover ads... It's a beautiful trick, either way.
“Victim” lol… yeah you’ll notice I casually tossed the page selection magazine aside afterwards. It’s unimportant to them. The heat is on the other one. I would worry about inside ads too much. There’s really no time to pay attention to that.

When I do this, I draw what they are 'thinking', but only 80% correct. eg draw a lighthouse, but further away and on a cliff, draw the watch upright, not horizontal and the man diving forwards, not backwards.
