    Amazing video as always. One quick trick I learnt recently is when you are in Node selection mode, first select one node which you want to select and then you can press Ctrl + A to select all connected nodes in one go. Lemme know if that works for you! :)

    Awesome indeed, learning a ton and gearing up for real projects. You asked about ideas about projects. The following comes to mind as I have been compiling type of maps out there. A city skyline type poster for any city of the world, themed (world of warcraft type) or fantasy map of a city with vintage texture etc.

    So helpful, as always! Thank you, thank you! Really like the subtle touch of adding the image to the background to continue the Japanese theme. So clever and creative!! Silly question though, is your color palette at the bottom a custom palette? And is there a reason you chose those colors/gradient to have most easily accessible vs others?

    Hi there, I'm wondering if you do private tutorials as I am doing the exact steps and I get the nodes, copy, press escape, click my holder, press delete and then I hit paste in place the only thing it pastes is like a strange item... I'm pulling my hair out, just wondered how much you would charge to show me how to do this. Thanks

    Thank you so much for this tutorial! I tried doing this with Iceland following the same steps but in Inkscape when I clicked the ocean, it's not one thing but a grid of squares. So I go to select same>same fill to get all the ocean squares, and then the node editor, but the nodes are really messy and go into the interior of the island. I try to make a selection of the nodes but Inkscape always crashes (too many nodes I think). Do you know why the grid is showing up in the exported svg? I think that's what's throwing it all off. thanks a ton in advance for any input you have

    • @IronEchoDesign
      @IronEchoDesign  Год назад

      Thanks so much! When this happens to me I try to go back and reduce the file size of the download. Is the Iceland one over 15 MB? That normally crashes my older computer pretty easily. The other idea is to double click the ocean until you see the Fill color on the Fill and Stroke tab show the same blue color. Then try deleting it without the Select same step. Once the big items are gone, things will move faster. Hope this helps!

      I could give it a shot. My goal for this channel is to show alternatives to Illustrator people can use so they’re not locked into subscriptions for life. Are you using Illustrator? It is the industry standard and actually more powerful than Inkscape.

    • @IronEchoDesign
      @IronEchoDesign  Год назад +1

      It's probably the OpenStreetMap ratio. Is it set to SVG for the download type? If so, try 1:1 and hit enter. It will automatically change the ratio to something large. Can you try that download and see if it improves the roads?

    • @IronEchoDesign
      @IronEchoDesign  Год назад

      I went a little too quick on the OpenStreetMap part. The Share button is on the right menu and looks like a little rectangle with an arrow coming out. Click on that icon and you'll see the Share menu.

    • @venable67

      @@IronEchoDesign I don't have one. I had to click on Export on the left side, then the share button came up. My page looks different than yours. I just downloaded Inkscape yesterday, so it's new.

    • @IronEchoDesign
      @IronEchoDesign  Год назад

      Okay, I see. I thought you meant the Share button on OpenStreetMap. Export is the right way if you're inside of Inkscape. Inkscape itself is a little tricky at first, but it's wonderful once you get the hang of it.
