- 7 minute extended mix of the classic "The Air That I Breath" by The Hollies
Lyrics:
If I could make a wish
I think I'd pass
Can't think of anything I need
No cigarettes, no sleep, no light, no sound
Nothing to eat, no books to read
Making love with you
Has left me peaceful, warm, and tired
What more could I ask
There's nothing left to be desired
Peace came upon me and it leaves me weak
So sleep, silent angel, go to sleep
Sometimes, all I need is the air that I breathe
And to love you
All I need is the air that I breathe
Yes to love you
All I need is the air that I breathe
Peace came upon me and it leaves me weak
So sleep, silent angel go to sleep making love with you
Has left me peaceful, warm, and tired
What more could I ask
There's nothing left to be desired
Peace came upon me and it leaves me weak
So sleep, silent angel, go to sleep
Sometimes, all I need is the air that I breathe
And to love you
All I need is the air that I breathe
Yes to love you
All I need is the air that I breathe
Peace came upon me and it leaves me weak
So sleep, silent angel go to sleep
Sometimes, all I need is the air that I breathe
And to love you
All I need is the air that I breathe
Yes to love you
Sometimes, all I need is the air that I breathe
And to love you
All I need is the air that I breathe
Yes to love you
All I need is the air that I breathe
And to love you
All I need is the air that I breathe
Yes to love you
All I need is the air that I breathe
Sometimes, all I need is the air that I breathe
And to love you
All I need is the air that I breathe
Yes to love you
All I need is the air that I breathe
Yes to love you
All I need is the air that I breathe
Yes to love you
I so miss the way things were in the 70's. Compared to this mess we have in 2023.
We had it all a mess then.
Listen to old Skyhooks songs... we were merely ignorant of the Satanic undercurrent.... SHOCKER!!! Better we know, stick together, SORT IT... kick them OFF.
You know what... I remember people saying the same thing about the 70's in the here and now.
In the '70s I was a teenager who always had money because I had a job and a good work ethic. These days you can have the same character and ethics but no job. Now I'm 65 and decided to apply for Social Security and all that money I paid into the system no longer exists. America is Bankrupt and headed for an economic collapse of epic proportions.
I'm out of polite words now to describe this bullshit. It's worse that a wad like Trump has causd it all with tons of unsavory, witless help from bullshit, worthless Republicans. As far as I'm concerned, those people, Trumpers, are lost, lie-swallowing bullshitters. There will be no "bygones will be bygones". There will be no forgiveness from me. Support for a pile of crap like Trump is just too far. NO respect for any of them.
So very true..
You will be hard pressed to find a better musical period than the 60's / 70's.
The very best ever
@@p.j.laperle355So glad I was young in the seventies, as you say 'the very best ever'. All the best to you...
Even the ‘50’s had great music.
Nunca será superada ésta música... Jamás!
Vdd !!
I have just reached my 70.. Not knowing what to expect in the coming years. I'm indeed grateful to God for bringing me through all these years. Life has been difficult. But now it's ok.
Life is a test pal....as in TESTament -- you are judged by each and every test.
Oh Henry we still have all our great music
The young Hollies had no idea of what they've just created when writing this masterpiece.
Sadly, The Hollies writing team did not write this Mike Hazelwood and Albert Hammond did the composing.
also albert hammond set the tune and melody that later versions adopt. @@LG-kl3co
They're not the same?? 😳
Who's young Hollies?? Is there another Hollies aside from these?
@@rosesuarez3372yes that Holly's nowadays does not have the same members only Tony Hicks is with the group now. The others have retired but I believe he's talking about is in the early days of The Hollies. Which I experienced as a youth and loved every song they had and every time I got a chance I plugged the Jukebox and played all their songs. While other people were playing The Beatles
When your young, you think those times will go on forever. It seems like a distant dream in another life. Truth was easy to come by then. Those days were cherished memories.
I was never that Lucky
Reminds me of the summer . I was a teenager in the 70s . Things were normal and life was simple . Miss those old days
YES Daniel!!! When you could:
1, enjoy life and being young.
2, look forward to finding TRUE love.
3, listen and enjoy music WITHOUT a CUSS WORD!!!
And...
4, appreciate music that MEANT SOMETHING, and even INSPIRED you at times...
Yes...bring me back to 'NORMAL'...
❤
Amen brother amen
Yes me too! Such good and bad days but I wouldn't change anything!
Agree with you! 👍🏴
My Late Mother loved this song and always shushed everyone when it came in the radio. Love you Mom, miss you & Dad every day.
Such a beautiful song and brings back a lot of memories of being a teenager in the 70’s. I want to go back there, it was over way too fast. Best time ever!
That's darned RIGHT!!
good times , sexy song! I’d like to visit! Set biden , & Killory , straight and then come back because my , son gave me great grandbabies !
I so agree
Could today’s musicians even begin to write a rock love song of this caliber? I don’t think they have it in them. Frankly, I think it’s beyond their ability.
Oh how's all those memories had been like blur ...please bring me back in ⏲️
I wish there was a time machine to take me back to those simple days 60s 70s. When I was young I couldn't wait to be all grown up. Now I just want to go back to those days. IT TRULY SUCKS BEING OLD
Feel the same way.
Agree, it all went by too fast.
It sure does suck! Never thought I'd make it to this age. But we're lucky to have been young when this great music came out.

It truly sucks when you see what the world has become.
I was dating my soon to be wife, imagining that the air she exhaled was the air "that I breathed" when this song was originally charting. We are still married nearly fifty years later, and I still feel the same way.
I was a teenager back in the 70'S and we had the best songs ever!! I would go back to that in my life. Oh, how I miss those days!!😢
I thought you were going to say..."we had the best "sex" in the back seat"...LOL 😂❤️
I cry with you for ever
When reading these comments most people share the same sentiments. My graduating year was '77 and yes those were the best years of my life. And now look what's happening....
Truer words were never spoken, it was for sure a piece of Heaven on this earth. Damn shame the 2000s couldn't be like the 70s. Peace signs and hitch hiking were a big part of our world. Love trumped hate.
Me too ❣️❣️
In a major way...(I rarely reply to comments) Last night while falling asleep....
I literally said out loud that I would go back there with zero hesitation...
My husband actually passed away while listening to this song in the hopital - when I blew a breath into his mouth. Love forever Russ
Hugs 😢
I clicked on this song because of Saw X (which I’m really excited for!) but now that I read your comment, I’m sorry for what happened.😞 Hope your better man/woman. ❤❤❤❤
❤
Sorry for your loss
Well, if I wasn't crying already. Air hugs to you.
This band was of the most underrated band of all time. So young and FULL of talent !!
Never under rated it played non stop world wide n most famous band in the world.
I was 14. It came on every night. I listened to it all the time. At 63 I am listening to it every night again.
Boomer here, great reading these comments and I couldn't agree more. We have a community.
I'm with ya, sir.

Yes its true! When you get old certain memories make you wish you could return to your youth and The Hollies make me feel that way. Surreal..
Com 70 anos, eu que o diga.

We were a truly blessed generation with our music, loved being young back in the 60's in Swinging London! 75 now with six grandkids who love to hear all my old stories!
All we need is air that we breathe to get through all the turmoil of 2023
How Swede it is (as I found out they once had a guy from Sweden singing in this group)!
AND NOW 2 KEEP THE ASYLUM SEEKERS OUT, CHEERS DUBLIN, XX
Standing on the front seat while my Mom was driving, singing along to the AM radio with great songs like this. RIP Mom, you were the most giving human being ever and I am so grateful to have been given the unconditional Love you gave to me 🙏🇺🇸
This song brings me back to my earliest memories as a kid in the 70’s. What a privilege to grow up hearing songs like this.
Oh, essa música 🎶 é de 70's?, adorei ouvir. Voltar aos meus 18 anos, foi mágico 😉😉☺️☺️🤗🤗
whiita privilege.
It sure was a privilege......I was 14 years old when I heard this song on the air. The songs of the '60s and '70s were the best songs the world has ever heard !
Too bad we cannot go back in time.
I wish these great times back again! Best music, best people, best memories, love, peace and freedom!
We grew up with the best music
I agree 1000%. Contemporary music is so sad .
This song doesn't get old. The lyrics mean so much.
Wish u were back in the 70’s boyle....hmmm 🇺🇸 wasn’t a 3rd world shithole....so stop whining about the past....n just take responsibility for ur leftist agenda....Mission Accomplished sadly 👎🏿👎🏿👎🏿👎🏿🇺🇸👌🇺🇸👌🇺🇸
Good Memories! ❣
Perfect
On planet earth the current oxygen content is 21%- as global warming continues killing the oxygen production of algae it will diminish=a shorter life span.
Noah & his clan were breathing an oxygen content of 30% that's why our ancestors lived so long.
All I need is the air that I breath...is apropos for our love for life-chemically speaking.
When I hear this song, brings me to tears, thinking of my late son, Izzy. "Sometimes All I need is the air that I breath, and to love him", he was my heart, 20 years missing from me.🦋🙏😇💔
The Hollies were bar none one of the best bands to ever hit the music scene. Alan Clark's voice is legendary. The harmonies spot on. Untouchable
You cannot say anything else. You've said It All.
I have always loved these guys Grew up with the British Invasion at 12. I’m 71 and have never strayed.
For sure!
I always loved the British Invasion groups. The Beatles were my passion-I was 12 when they hit the Ed Sullivan show . I became a huge fan of The Hollies,Dusty Springfield, almost all of the British music. I also discovered the Seekers. My kids also jumped on the wagon but they are in their 40’s now and I swear I’ll always love their music and they will love mine. We’re pretty lucky. Missing their dad and my greatest love.
Graham Nash adds a lot to the harmonies especially on the high end. He has also become one of my favorites over the years.
Some songs go way beyond classic status and this song reaches it with relative ease.
I was 13 when the British Invasion happened. These guys and others like them made an impression on me that has never gone away. I'm in my 70's now, but this music still moves me. I hope this feeling never goes away. With this music will guarantee it never does!!!
the hollies if i remember correctly were a part of the second invasion, i love it
63 with 3 older sisters to intro me to this beautiful time. This music was, is and I believe always be my frequency of life's journey. (I know deep right? 😃) It's like the saying, If you know, you know.
My Dad had a chance to join them back in the mid 60’s!
Me too in my 60’s 🙏😇😇

😢 My Mom's song R I. P. Mama
@@debbiepowers4562 Hello Debbie yes its a very nice song where are you from ? I am in Australia my mother passed away on the 12 March last year I was looking after her for a number of years, she was all the time falling down the doctors don't know why, but I do my mum when she was born had the mercury semisquare to Mars , Mars rules parts of the brain so does Mercury and she had this at an orb of 0 zero degrees in the Red no wonder she died she told me when she was 6 years young she had to stop in the gutter and sit as she was dizzy poor um and her mother never believed in doctors those days, now I am not just an Astrologer but a medical o ne too.
I'm 75yrs old and can remember all the words to most of the songs from my Salad Days . Does anyone remember those tiny radios hidden under our blankets ? Whichever way one turned the thing it cut out and the fear that a parent might catch we teenagers listening to Radio Caroline .
Just when most people thought the Hollies were finished. Then they come up with this classic.
The Hollies strongly represent an era of wonderful music and certainly give us old fogies something good to remember.
Lol, who are you calling old? We’ve just 🤔matured gracefully. 🤭
Such lovely memories
"THOSE LYRICS.......THOSE HAUNTING & BEAUTIFUL LYRICS, PLEASE TAKE ME BACK TO THAT TIME IN MY LIFE.....IF ONLY"
I didn’t have much money growing up but somehow found enough to buy this 45. Gave my record collection to my ex in our divorce and man I really regret it now. So much great music in the 60s and 70s.
I'm still looking for that damn genie in the bottle! First stop, Woodstock! 😊
That music is available, thank goodness.
Eight years of battling cancer and all I need is the air that I breath !!

One of the prettiest songs ever written.
The writing, harmony, and guitar work are timeless.
And the drums!
Simple song, simple lyrics, but WOW! they nailed it.
Great singers
So simple, yet none everyone is fortunate to experience a love that flows within every path that connects to the heart

Transported back to the 60's by the Hollies, what a wonderfully joyous ride! Undeniably , a great time to be alive.
The Hollies, one of the great bands of the 60s and 70s. Still going today.
Love it great song, good song for making love to a nice chick lol
I remember listening to this on an old tiny am radio as a kid and it kept me frozen listening to it almost like in a trance. It was just captivating and still is. Something about the harmony’s and chords etc. there’s nothing nowadays that seem to touch it for me, save a couple songs here and there and they don’t really come close. It’s a real stunner.
They were one of the best.
Walshy I remember those little AM radios though they were the greatest things. Cause it fit right in our hands and pocket. This song does make me wonder off and like you said captivating. And there hasn't been anything like this song since the 70s. All the stupid shit out now days my son's listen to the music from the 60s 70s they are in their 30s I guess it's from me always listening to music from back then.
Harmonies, not harmony's. I had a little radio like that too!it was a birthday gift and It got stolen from my desk
@@gramethyst2920 I know you might not mean anything. But it's really fucked up doing that SHIT. Correcting someone when they put the wrong word or misspelled a word. I had someone do it to me a couple of times. So I finally had enough of people out to make an ass out of someone. You see I told her why am not as great as all the perfect people who can spell use the right words. I was found not breathing when I was 4 days old. From the lack of oxygen I am a little bit slower in my brain than everyone else. But I still try to do my best so this is one reason why people who are perfect shouldn't show everyone how great yous are. The girl apologized but it was too late I was already feeling like I shouldn't be on here with all the perfect people. And when I went to school in the 60s they didn't know what to do with kids like me. So they never left me back a grade or two. I was pushed through school. I am sorry I don't mean to hurt you. But it does piss me off how people don't stop and think. Maybe that person has a learning disability. And my father fought the Japanese in the south Pacific. So he didn't know how to handle my problem. I was called stupid asshole my whole life. So please stop and take a minute before you say anything about someone else.
listened when i was in high school, with first girlfriend, great memories
I’m 76 And still love this
Me too.
I remember this song was on the AM radio in my mom’s 1972 Ford Comet GT when she nearly rear ended the car ahead of us. I was in the front passenger seat. She put her arm in front of my chest to hold me back as a reflex. I was 8.
What an amazing time to be a kid.
This song made me realize just how incredible group harmony is. As a trained musician and baby-boomer, I can really appreciate good music when I hear it - and this is way better than merely good...
Jamás se puede olvidar este clásico por favor, quien está conmigo.

One of the most underrated songs ever. Timeless.
Not underrated to any of us here ...
Not underrated. Got to number one in UK charts l think in March 1975. The Hollies were a fantastic group
@@maureenfishwick6530 "it reached number two in the UK Singles Chart. In mid 1974, it reached number six in the United States on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and number three on the Adult Contemporary chart.[3] In Canada, the song peaked at number five on the RPM magazine charts." It was never number one in the UK. It's not on Billboards. top 100 songs. That sounds underrated to me.
When it is timeless it's never under rated so I don't understand where you get off.
@@lynneburridge9082 ...It's underrated by Magazines like Rolling Stone, and music "experts. Lists of the best longs ever. Didn't you read my OTHER comment? Love this song ,wish I could go back to the sixties, they were the best time to be alive.
Yes timeless and so beautiful, it's to bad our generation of kids don't know what real music is.

Thank god my parents listened to some of the best music. This song always take me back to growing up in San Francisco❤
One of my favorites. BEAUTIFUL SONG .❤
Sitting in a classroom. Lunchtime at school, and as ever the transistor radio was gently playing in the background. Then! this tune came on...... WOW!!!
One of THE GREAT pop songs of all time. Superb harmonies, superb song and the incredible voice of Alan Clark. The Hollies should be recognised as of of the truly great bands.
That’s why they’re in the R&R Hall of Fame
Love it
I've heard other artist try to sing this song. However none of them come to the emotional sincerity captured by Alan Clark. It is as if he is singing only to you!
Sometimes I get nostalgic for a little Brit-pop, and for the last couple of days it's been The Hollies. The song structures, the voices and instruments are brilliant and outshine most of today's crappy music. The British had a gift of taking American pop-rock and making it infinitely better and blessing a whole generation of us with amazing memories of the soundtracks of our lives.
Today's crappy music.....AMEN!

I just found this video and song this week. I lost my dad exactly 1 year ago at 12:29 A.M., May 28 to end stage kidney failure. Every line in this song is exactly what I felt the last 5 months of his life. I had my hand on his as he passed. What a tribute to your father, James! Thank you for sharing. I am your newest fan!
To your dad you will always be his biggest fan.
Listening in 2023, memories rolling down this 70 yr olds cheeks. Missing my youth.
I know what you mean. I will be 71 in a few weeks. This song always makes me cry. When I was 23, my boyfriend, David was 25. He was drinking and driving, and was killed in a car wreck. He was a wonderful and romantic man. We danced and sang this song to each other. I can’t believe it has been so long, since he has been gone. Rest In Peace, David. You are truly loved and missed. ❤️🌹❤️

Great, perfect comment. My parents just celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary on Thursday. You are so right!
And when they do come to pass our hearts will still hold them in that special place, that's reserved just for them.
I was born in 1960 and the 70's and 80's through 95 were the best times for music. After that the writing, performing, and class left most acts.
Another classic song, with feeling and emotion in the lyrics. Brings back so many memories.

This beautiful song describes precisely what is like to be loved by the person you love, a once in a lifetime feeling...but it is not lost...it comes back every time I hear this song.. to remind me it was real.
You are soooo right.
Absolutely. I lost the love of my life in February and he and I both loved this song.
It takes me back and I feel my love's presence is nearby.
Beautiful song.

Yeah okay
Those Tony Hicks guitar licks... phenomenal...
Couldn't agree more
This is why I have loved The Hollies 50 years
Nobody can take us take these beautifel years and time.
If I could make a wish
I think I'd pass
Can't think of anythin' I need
No cigarettes, no sleep, no light, no sound
Nothing to eat, no books to read
Making love with you
Has left me peaceful, warm, and tired
What more could I ask
There's nothing left to be desired
Peace came upon me and it leaves me weak
So sleep, silent angel
Go to sleep
Sometimes, all I need is the air that I breathe
And to love you
All I need is the air that I breathe
Yes, to love you
All I need is the air that I breathe
Peace came upon me
And it leaves me weak
So sleep, silent angel
Go to sleep
Sometimes, all I need is the air that I breathe
And to love you
All I need is the air that I breathe
Yes, to love you
All I need is the air that I breathe
Sometimes, all I need is the air that I breathe
And to love you
All I need is the air that I breathe
Yes, to love you
All I need is the air that I breathe
And to love you
Thanks
Good Lord what a great song.

The Hollies were one of the most lyrical and vocally best bands of their time. They were in an age of so many legendary bands. If all things were equal, they would be BY FAR, the best band today.
People have such praise on the Beatles and the stones .....But they also forget great bands like the hollies the kinks and so many more .
