I’m listening to this while I’m cleaning and I have to say I ran and grabbed my phone when you said your age. I never EVER say people don’t look their age(especially because you’re VERY YOUNG) but girl I thought you were like 23 😭
I always appreciate how even when you don’t like a book that you’re not mean about it in your review. Some people can be so brutal. I am really interested in shadow and bone. I remember watching the Netflix adaptation not knowing it was based on a book series. I also want to read the storied life of A.J. It sounds so cute and I’m here for it. Great video as always!
@@Ru.rehtaeh I know book opinions can differ for everyone! I never want to yuck anyone else’s yum so I try to find at least some good parts of books I don’t enjoy 😂❤️
The cat took me out!! 😄 A very good suggestion for a graphic novel/ manga is Yona of the Dawn. The genre is fantasy adventure (no smut at all) and morally grey characters so I bet you would love it too!
If the story has a sad ending, it's technically not a capital R "Romance" novel. You could call it a love story. I love a well-done love triangle. My favourite was the Infernal Devices Series by Cassandra Clare, book one of which was Clockwork Angel.
I'm new to your channel and I love it !! Whenever I want to feel cozy or get out of a reading slump, i juste watch your videos ❤ also your 31?! I thought you were in your early 20's ! Your beautiful, keep up the good work !
Nice recap!!! I keep seeing Half A Soul in stores and have been super tempted to pick it up, but hearing that it has Bridgerton and Autumn vibes is tempting me even more LOL
so glad you read and enjoyed hello strangers and the rom-commers! i’ve been enjoying more low spice/closed door romances these days so i absolutely adored katherine center’s books. i feel like closed door romances aren’t appreciated enough these days.
I am currently reading God of the Woods. Like you, I thought it might have a supernatural element. This is mainly because it is set in a summer camp which is adjacent to some dense woods. In the horror books I read, this type of setting would indicate a supernatural element. I didn't get very far in the book before I realized the story would be reality based. My top read for August was the audiobook of Funny Story by Emily Henry.
The fact that I kept adding your videos to my Watch Later, but only ended up watching you recently, & now you're one of my fave BookTubers. ♡ Based on your enjoyment of romances without spice, I wonder if you'd maybe enjoy Lily Chu's books? I read The Stand-In recently & was disappointed by the lack of spice, but I did like the romance in general.
I am planning to read half a soul maybe in winter i guess 😅. I still have a lot read for autumn season . Plz do make a video recommending some fall reads 😊.
I had a lot of dnfs in August and also didn't read that much, because I started at a new job and it's been awful, but I really liked What Feasts at Night by T. Kingfisher, The Librarian Spy by Madeline Martin and Check & Mate by Ali Hazelwood. (I'm not a romance reader and hate smut, so was pleasantly surprised by C & M, especially after suffering through Bride before.)
If you need some manga recommendations, I would suggest ‘I Want to Eat Your Pancreas’ or ‘5 Centimeters Per Second.’ These are standalone manga. For a silly series, I recommend ‘Nights with a Cat.’
Here's what I read Everyone on this train is a suspect by Benjamin Stevenson The mystery guest by nita prose Sex lies and sensibility by nikki Payne Your fault by Mercedes ron Iron flame by rebecca yarros Summer on sag harbor by sunny hostin Forever is now by Mariana j lockingington Midsummer mysteries by Agatha Christie Life and other inconveniences by kristan Higgins Summer reading by jenn McKinley Long past summer by noue kiwan
I’m personally not a fan of shadow and bone and the inheritance games but I just think I don’t like YA’s anymore. I haven’t read a YA that I actually liked in the past few years 😅
@@jaimefok yeah for me they are more frustrating then enjoyable. For example I’m reading Daughter Of The Moon Goddess right now and I actually like the story but the love triangle is really frustrating to me, I don’t get why so many YA’s love to add love triangles into their story because never once did I enjoy it.
I hate when people refer to anything in the regency period as Bridgerton. Has no one read pride and prejudice? Or any of the other hundreds of regency books
@@kidcurry7138 yep, I have read Pride and Prejudice! Bridgerton is just more on the top of my mind (and same for many others) because it’s more current. No need to hate!
