Wonderful video! What about the 25% VAT? Is this tax not collected when purchasing real estate?

Thank you for your question. It is actualy mentioned in video. When purchasing property in Croatia you pay 3% real estate transfer tax but only when seller is private person. If you are buying property from Croatian company which is in VAT system than you do not pay real estate transfer tax. In this case this company needs to pay 25% VAT to the government, but you do not have anything with that, because you do not pay anything in that case. I hope I helped.

So VAT is not the same as Real estate transfer tax. VAT is 25% and Real estate transfer tax is 3 %. Buyers of the property do not have anything with VAT.
