I always have a hard time with counter melodies / top melodies. My melodies always sound generic/bland/boring, or I end up trying too hard and they become too complex and distracting. I know it's just time put into training the ear, but the way you seemingly effortlessly add to your melodies is mad. 🔥
I have the exact same problem, i also think my counter melodies are sounding good until i stop listening for a moment and then hearing it back after a few minutes/hours, then i realise it sucks again

PLS HELP: Are there settings that can be adjusted so that an 808 sample changes pitch according to where it is placed on the piano roll, without the length of the sample changing? In other words, so that my 808s on higher notes ring out as long as the ones that are on lower ones.
