He was extremely funny, at times, wasn't he though? And his scream, my god!! I know he didn't feel he should be treated like someone "special" or a "rock god", but he WAS. He was an angel at the least. The most down-to-earth, beautiful, angry, angel, I've ever witnessed. I miss him every single day. I hate how his life played out. I just hope we will be able to see him again, in some sort of afterlife!! We love you Kurt, RIP, so many are forever at your altar.
he was a comedian but he had that emo persona bcuz it was selling better at that time. you can see him messing around in the studio or in the demo tracks.and also he was shy so tahts why he is so serios in 90% of mainstream media about him. 1992 reading is thye biggest proof he likes jokes.
this is REALLY good for a 19 year old kid. the structure, the lyrics, the sarcasm & wit. you can really hear the genius of Kurt Cobain here even at such a young age.
If the footage existed, I'd love to see Kurt's face as he says,"...and oh my God I'm so embarrassed I could just scream. I swear I will never talk to him as long as I live!"
Kurt was mocking the "Average post-80's-teens" that attended his school. This was amazingly genius. I can almost feel the awkward aggression & facial expressions. Even though this was a different band named "Fecal-Matter", I can still feel the mood of Nirvana. Nirvana was a lot less comical, but emotional. So in a sense, it was Nirvana that finished him off..
Although I really prefer "Buffy's Pregnant" as a title, the song is actually called "Class of '86" and was never called "Buffy's Pregnant" other than by fans.
Because it says Class of 86 on the Fecal Matter demo tracklist and this song is the only song that features both "86" and "Class" and in lyrical content fits the description provided by the name and someone (I can't remember) described the song as "an attack on everyone else in Kurt's graduating class". None of the other songs have anything to do with it and Buffy's Pregnant as a title only appeared when fans called it that so it obviously isn't that.
Why thank you, but I usually get information about this sort of thing from a website called Livenirvana which is extremely useful and interesting to read. I recommend you check it out
it's known as both class of 86 and buffy's pregnant which were both on the fecal matter demo (or possibly both the same song but song had two names). Read the lyrics if you don't believe me
This song could also be called class of 86 also it’s from Kurt’s band from 1985 to 1986 called fecal matter and this song was recorded on there demo called illiteracy will prevail in 1986
Well, i am glad that somebody knows history of Curt Cobain evolution as artist. I grew up with grunge so Nirvana (Brits) and Pearl Jam (Yamkees) were heores of my youth. Still are..👍
Damnit Kurt! You can't be the best at everything 😂. Seriously though I wish I could have raced him with go karts. Dude seemed like he was such a down to earth person. He seems like anyone of my friends here in Washington. Just one of us.
That is exactly why. Nirvana were not only different but a complete change from the lame late 80s cookie-cutter metal bands. The songs were amazing. Simple, sing along songs that were little anthems for our generation. Nevermind is a milestone in musical history. Everything changed after that. I loved it. I am so grateful to have lived at the right age to live though it. late teens, early 20s. I fucking miss those days a lot.
Dale Crover played the drums on the Fecal Matter Demo, as well as bass, the original line up was Kurt , Vocals & Guitar, Greg Hokanson, Drums, & Dale Bass
Distortion pedal, lol. There are other artifacts involved. It's old 1980's reel-to-reel tape, transferred by a bootlegger. The guitar, the tone used, the chords used, etc. If I'm not mistaken, it wasn't a mic'ed amplifier, But a guitar plugged directly into the reel-board.
Hey, these go kart pictures were taken on August 5th 1993. And guess what today is? Fun song too. I'm not going to say its "great" or on the level of his best Nirvana stuff, but its a lot of fun.
You're welcome. I was on livenirvana... others had posted the lyrics. I just listened to it while looking at the lyrics carefully to see what was right.
This is Fecal Matter. This song and the rest of the Illiteracy Will Prevail demo were recorded during Easter break 1986. At this point the band was only Kurt Cobain, on guitar and "mouth" and Dale Crover on drums and bass. This is considered a seperate band from Nirvana, which was formed in 1987 with Krist Novoselic and Aaron Burckhard. Dale Crover would join Nirvana shortly in 1988 and 1990.
Your right, it's Fecal Matter. One of Kurt's first bands he formed with Dale Crover, Buzz Osbourne and had a succession of other people throughout the spand of the band, from 1985-1986.
@johnlennonmyworld I don't know if it is available for download anywhere unless you find it on a music app or something I just always go on here to listen to it! :)
It's nice to hear Kurt's humorous side.

Anthony Fazio This is a band, Fecal Matter, Kurt on Guitar and vocals and Dale Crover on drums and bass
nirvana's lyrics were extraordinarily tongue in cheek, sarcastic and playful.
We got it
Courtney finished Kurt off! That man was murdered!!
"and oh my god I'm so embarrassed I could just scream! I swear I will never talk to him as long as I live." Cracks me up every time
It’s great we have Kurt’s real time musings on the bullshit that happened and still happens in high school. Good stuff
Kurt should have been a voice actor.
+Jared Thompson In addition to singing and guitar, of course.
+Sean Nelson He sings and plays guitar? I didn't know that....(climbing out from the rock I've been under since 1985) :-P
@@flintironstag2381 Yeah he sing and play the Guitar
He should of been a son
I was thinking the same thing
I just remembered that in The Breakfast Club, Bender says "slip her the hot beef injection" I wonder if that's where Kurt took the lyric from
No
that would be likely
Roxanna Z He did. Good job

I’ve always love how unique this song is and it sounds like it’s recorded on a boom box which makes it even better
