I wanted to throw my phone when I invested 30 minutes of you going turtle slow through modern binders just to absolutely blow through the base set binder! Brooooooooo
I remember when I was about 9 or 10 I had 152 cards including what I considered a prized zekrom card (sentimental value of course) and somehow my parents lost them over the years. Here I am, trying to start my collection again!
Bro you and me are so similar. I love the nostalgia of cards, been hardcore collecting about the same time frame and you and love binder collecting because it takes up less space and it’s a fun way to store wealth. I do think pages of Pokémon is the way to go. I have a binder of all of my favorite Pokémon which each page is full of one Pokémon similar to your charizard page. Thanks for sharing!
My mum just found my old collection. Original ones and some fossil pack. I've now got the itch to collect more but I've not kept up with the modern world of pokemon, so many I don't know. Tempted to wait till 151 series gets released before splurging.
Thanks Charlie! I don’t buy from the same people all of the time, but probably what I’d recommend is finding my WhatNot profile and following all of the people I’m following. Hope it helps!
Great collection... I also just got into the hobby literally two months ago and I have a selected set of singles I have pulled (and a few that I treated myself too). I am looking to grow my collection slowly and within reason (most of the cards I want are from Evo skies) and I am on a similar path to yours! That first edition gengar is AWESOME
@@LegendofLuke that's fair! I just recently got into top loaders 😅 edit notices your most recent video I have a manga rare Zoro I wouldn't be against trading!
Your vintage set is very similar to my own! I also have that 1st edition machamp. I have some cards too from 2nd gen and that’s around the time I stopped, luckily those were kept in much better condition 😅 I had silver as well and yeah funds were limited I’d use birthday or Christmas money to get mine.
Hey legend, your video helped me out tremendously over half a year ago, when I was wondering about how to start my collection! One question remained though: where did you find your card display which can hold three cards next to each other? I just couldn't find any!
Hey, I checked it now but have no idea about the length. Do you by any means still now how many inches the card holder is long? I can choose between five to ten.
I don’t think it’s ever too late to start collecting. For your Base Set collection, I’d check out the Collectr app and you can enter all the cards you own and view the value.
@@amnezeak probably… I’d think if you stack too many of them, the weight could damage them, but at the same time, if it’s a good quality binder like VaultX it may not matter. I personally keep them upright.

I agree with collect what you want. I’ve started with resurgence of base set through evolutions. I really think you’d like my collection and the diversity I use with cards. Check us out on IG or whatnot.
I want to have all my cards from a master set in one binder. But i dont know if i should use more money and put every card in a toploader and then i an toploader binder. Or to use a normal binder but to have the risk that the expensive card are not in toploaders..
Yeah it’s taken time for me to be more comfortable putting more pricy cards in a binder. But I do recommend VaultX binders which are heavy duty, and I use Dragon Shield sleeves, which are pretty sturdy, before putting cards in a binder. I just feel like the top loader binders are going to be too bulky and heavy, plus extra $ to maintain.
Same boat. Started in the 90s, lost interest in the early 2000s, getting back into Pokemon now. Your journey & collection is inspiring.
That’s awesome! Let me know if you have any questions as you’re getting back into it.
Me too. I started all over again in July 2023 (which was last month as of writing). Nostalgia is real.
Same here!

Lol well we’ll definitely be doing another video for that! Don’t you worry!

fr tho, the yellow borders bro that's why I dislike the silver borders on scarlet violet cards bro they should have kept the tradition!!

In 1 year of collecting how much do you guesstimate\think you spent $ ?

Could you tell me what sellers you buy from on whatnot? Would love to pick up some singles for good price. Thanks! Loved looking at your cards!

That first edition gengar is AWESOME
That’s awesome! Yeah slow and steady is the key - there’s no rush, and you have to collect within your means for it to be sustainable long-term.
Heyy love you collection! Have you thought about getting top loader binders?
I have one, but I don’t use it for my personal collection as much.
@@LegendofLuke that's fair! I just recently got into top loaders 😅 edit notices your most recent video I have a manga rare Zoro I wouldn't be against trading!
I love the gold charizard and reshiram gx and im so happy its a promo so its not too expensive

fun fact. the machamp only came in 1st edition. It came in a premade deck
Great collection! Would recommend no ring binders tho
Yeah I don’t use ring binders - I use VaultX. The one I showed at the beginning was my binder from the 90s.
Awesome collection! You should get some top loader binders for those beautiful cards in top loaders
This channel is really well run and put together for it being a smaller channel. I’ll subscribe 😃
Appreciate the support Landon! 👊🏽
@@LegendofLuke no problem 👍

I’m so glad to hear that! The display is linked in the video description, but here it is: tidd.ly/3hmc6Co
@@LegendofLuke ouh my bad, I didn't see that! Thank you so much for the answer and have a great day :)

Good collection and good video..but IMO the best part of the video was when you said MJ is the 🐐
This happened to me in 2016 but I've consolidated to the first 6 sets.
Get an ultra pro or vault x binder. They will keep your nice cards safe
Good stuff...I started a little over a year ago but my sealed collection is way better than my binders...glad I got the celebrations master set tho
I really like your cool and relaxed videos.
A wonderful contrast to the fast talking screaming American RUclipsrs.
Glad you’re liking the vibes! 😎
Those binders are messing with my OCD 😆
Haha. How do you like to organize them?
Does he mean OBCD?
I'm torn between storing my good ones in a vault x binder or in top loaders in an elite trainer box like your end of your video
Well it depends cause if you like to pick up and use them i would go with toploaders but if you just like looking at them then a binder is best option
Dawg thats alot of money spent in one year
I have every base set holo in near mint ungraded. What is it worth? Non shadowless. I started collecting a month too late unfortunately.

Lovely content Luke
Thanks Luke 🙏🏽
What kind of collector are you? Do you get every new series and go for master sets?
I only collect certain modern master sets like Hidden Fates, 151, etc.
Amazing collection thus far bro. One of my main goals is to finish the WOTC black star promo set, just 2 cards away. Keep up the great content!
I never saw the shiny Magikarp in person before?
Nice!
Thanks!
Thanks for your support! 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
How do you store your binders when not enjoying them?
I keep them on a shelf. I open them frequently to add new cards.
@@LegendofLuke do you thinking keeping the binders vertical would be better than laying down?
@@amnezeak probably… I’d think if you stack too many of them, the weight could damage them, but at the same time, if it’s a good quality binder like VaultX it may not matter. I personally keep them upright.
@@LegendofLuke awesome! I went ahead and scooped a few more vault x binders so they can stand upright. Thank you-have a good weekend!!!
If you are just starting, I fully don't recommended buying previous packs to keep up. Buy singles from TCG, you'll end up paying MUCH less.
Yeah, that’s definitely true. If you buy packs, you gotta do it because it’s fun, not necessarily to build your collection.
You should do a 2024 update!
I can't add a phone number on whatnot so, so cant verify it, therfore can't buy on what not. Anyone have this issue?
You didn't go into your Star wars collection!

Nice collections. For me, sealed boxes makes more sense as collection / investment. How about your Metazoo cards? Thanks
I may have to do a separate video at some point showing my MetaZoo collection!
What’s the point ? You don’t get to see the cards smh
If you collect sealed boxes you are not A Pokemon card collector
My childhood collection was ruined in a basement flood.
F bro
