I don't think I have ever seen a more confident orphan than Satchmo. No matter what or who he encountered he plowed straight ahead and kept a cheerful, playful attitude. Thank you Dave and all the staff at VMF for all that you do. You help keep hope and love and appreciation of nature alive.
Precious little Satchmo seemed to fit right in and didn't appear traumatized at all!! He was having sooo much fun playing in his new troop! Once again, Dave, this is a fantastic recap, thanks so much and please keep these recaps coming!! 🐒🥰
Another successful rescue he is one lucky little guy he ended up in the right place. Now he has a better chance of a long life. Thank you for everything you do for the Monkeys, etc.
Love following Satchmo's story - of course he has been special to many of us for some time - and having the whole story laid out for us in one place is heavenly. He is such a darling, and so ready to adapt to whatever with which he is presented - he's a joy and so is this video! Thank you!
Just loved this video Satchmo is a great little monkey so glad he gets on so well with the other two.You are always aware of all possibilities and fortunately all is going very well. They seem to have a beautiful area to live in

He is just so stinking cute and funny and his noises are so happy!!! Although your Vervets have stolen my whole heart- Satchmo, Mango and Zea have squeezed their way in also (and I guess my kids have room in there too🥰)! Very special little Samango’s! I’m sure you have given lots of Zea’s background but I’d love to know more about her arrival and introduction to Mango, someday, not now, y’all are busy!! Side note: Can’t believe baby season came early... those monkeys don’t know that this is the wrong year to be over achievers in that department!!
Mango was acting like a sibling, you're right. It seemed that way right from the start. The Samangos seem like very nice monkeys. Satchmo is a very likable little guy!
The one hopping around reminds me of Pepe LePew, the cartoon skunk who tried to romance kitty cats, who PePe thought were the same, a skunk like him... When he was in the mood for love, he would happily hop around just like this little Vervet! As for Satchmo, he’s an adorable little guy and I love his “fringed” eyebrows! Very dashing!
Satchmo is so darn adorable. Mango has such a sweet face. So much fun to watch them playing. Zea is warming up to the baby. I really like the 'My Story' format. Thanks.
Satchmo is so adorable. He is a spunky little guy. So cute watching him play with Mango. Compared to Satchmo the vervets seem a lot more cautious when meeting members of the troops. Is this typical of Samangos? Thank you all for your hard work to make sure these monkeys are taken care of properly.
I just love little satchmo he is such a little fun guy just plays for hours never tired of that but I like the samango monkeys best of all they just enjoy life and get along with all the monkeys they are around
Really awesome video. I love the "who can push who out of the treer' game lol. I think my brothers and I might have played that. Thanks for the upload!

The male & female sure don't look 15-17 pounds wow. The baby is so cute. Between the Vervet and now this little Sykes I definitely be a foster failure just as I am with the cats and dogs I have her at my house.
I just love this channel I love the way Dave and the other fella tell the stories of the baby monkeys Its like national geographic close up I only wish they could go out the bush and see the monkeys that have left the camp but I guess that's to invasive Keep up your quest saving and giving many baby monkeys new life
A lone Samango has arrived in my garden canopy ( Zoutpansberg Mountain ) … I’m putting out an Enquiry & offering my mountain farm as an area for release as there is no commercial farming here, but a very sufficient area of Zoutpansberg mountain Forest Canopy for Samango’s to be re-introduced or first time introduced. I have been observing the loan one here in my garden, who seems to have decided to stay as my garden canopy has quite a large amount of wild fig , white stink wood and other indigenous trees.
Could he have had an allergic reaction to something out near the intro cage? Idk if they even have allergies but with being so closely related to humans I just thought that they could. They definitely don't have the same vocals as the Vervets but they still let you know without a doubt that they're not happy at all! I just love this lil guy and wish him all the best in life! Be happy, be healthy, and most of all BE SAFE!!! Love and well wishes to you all AND your families! 🥰💖🥰💖🥰💖🥰💖
Your video style has gotten better and I hope it helps get more views. Would love to hear some of your thoughts on pet monkeys sprinkled in to educate the viewers. Thanks for all you do.
What a beautiful little family! Mango took the little guy into the troop with an open heart. And Zhea will be able to teach him and comfort him when he needs it. I love how seamless this integration was. Sachamo was so easy going and willing to learn. Thank you for everything you do for these endangered species!! I have thought of an idea that would help with the very young infants you get in. A way to keep things even more natural up until they are slowly integrated to a foster mom. Is there an address that I may send you a gift? It will be able to be sterilized either by bleach or autoclave after being wrapped by autoclave paper, thus keeping it sterile until you use it. You can also have one assigned to each individual infant or per human mom. Where could I send it? I rather not say here what it is until you decide if you would want to use it with the rearing of infants. It can be adapted to different species as well. I love the work you do and only wish to help. How many infants are with one human mom at a time? How many human moms are there currently working at the center? And how many infants, on average, are there at any given time? Also, you rear them until they are no longer dependant on milk correct?
At the moment the only way is via courier and you have to mark it as a donation, to: Vervet Monkey Foundation Plot 35 California Tarentaalrand Letsitele, Limpopo South Africa We normally have 3 or 4 baby moms currently none, we get between 15 -30 orphans a year, they need milk for a year they are reared by the foster monkey moms and we just supply the milk, humans are only involved for a month or 2

If it helps the babies adjust through quarantine and everything before they have their foster moms and helps their human moms as well it will be win win. Thank you. And thank you for the countless hours you spend doing this for them!!
@@Bethsabee_Sheba_Newrose I am still waiting for the rest of the material (got a slow start and waiting on materiels) but I have made vests with fur material on them so it is more natural for baby. Also a milk pocket so baby can access it when ever and human mom can record amount drunk easier. It would allow for a more hands off approach. They only handle them for a little bit, but the less they are handled the better. I have used mesh vests that are large so the human wearing it will not over heat. I have only put a small strip across the back by the neck. I was also considering the handlers. Hopefully they won't suffer as many scratches this way. I have only 2 more to make 😁. I should be able to send them hopefully by November and then we may see them in the videos.
