- Noel Quinn, chief executive officer at HSBC Holdings Plc, discusses U.S.-China relations, the challenges the company is facing in their pivot to Asia and the Global recovery. He speaks exclusively on "Bloomberg Markets: China Open" from the sidelines of the 4th annual Bloomberg New Economy Forum in Singapore.
This dude should rephrase that HSBC cannot decouple from China
It should be that the Western civilization cannot decouple from China.
@@baruasafi5880 but it can. It will take time but it’s definitely possible
@@jordie4423 China is the factory of the world. Read Sun Tzu on the Art of War and you'll never regret how China is working.
Look at the space station above your head twice each day, that's an excellent example of the result of decoupling.
Yes, just like the USSR.
I love how people like to compare China and India, as if there is any possibility for India to take over the labor intensive industry from China once the USA forces itself to decouple from China, if that's possible at all.
India cannot surpass China. They should find their own way to progress and advance rather than try to profit from US/China quagmire. India is not China and will never be like China.
The main problem with India being deep racism and hatred between Indians of different religions and castes.
It is, but it will take time. It is building a new world order
It's not exactly a news flash that industries are leaving China in record numbers despite what the halfwit at HSBC is saying.
These banks have no morals. They're the reason that our planet is a garbage can. They create the problem and sell us the solutions.
@@rebeccaaldrich3396 Well said
USA could always decouple from the world. As for china, it is not your business, you can do nothing about it.
They don’t have to decouple from the world. In the end , it will be the forces of good against the forces of evil. Different world views, and not enough recourses to sustain all. Better prepare for a fight for our values. The cost will be huge
@@jordie4423 “forces of good vs forces of evil”? You really mean it? Sounds like a cult.
@@tonywyli millions of Uighur in interment camps, state controlling all media and blaming the internal mess, power shortages and economic problems in the west. Doest that sound more than a cult???
@@jordie4423 OMG! You really believe that? You are indoctrinated by the lies of your government and media. Pathetic!
Explain how banking and finance can be sustainable? Yield, returns and rates are the imperative for growth. Finite resources, energy, ecosystems and communities are already over extended.
HSBC kowtow to China any way Beijing wants. If the world can't completely decouple from China, it can surely and slowly decouple most of it.
+John Ji When western/west leaning people say "the world" or "the international community" the actual countries this encompasses is the US empire and its immediate vassal states.
This is also the reason why there will be very little if any of decoupling from China as that would be like shooting them self in the foot as it would diminish their relevance on the actual international stage as China is the largest trading partner for most countries in the world.
@@ensteffo China joined WTO since 2001 and has played the US and its members like a fool. China has coerced countries all over the world when conditions don't favor them. International laws meant nothing to China when they don't work in China's interests. The list of unfair and coerced chinese actions on its trading partners are so many. It's long overdue for the whole world to bring China back into the fair trading environment or minimize economic and technogical interactions with China. US is the only country in the world that can effectively deal with China on this matter.
Right right
China says don't worry everything will be OK while they hammer away at the coupling. Soon my friend, soon.
Tesla cars are every where on road in China now
and half peoples hold iPhone in big cities in China
because we believe the power of opening
In the end we are not going to have much choice.
But we do. We can bring back vital industries. It will take time but we are awake now. Time to become less dependent on China and form new alliances
China is the largest developing country with a lot of opportunities. Cooperated USA China should be win-win!
But it’s not

you can, actually. Not the world

Well Africa will never decouple. We need China for our development.

The world doesn't have to completely decouple from China, just the high tech strategic industries that China is desperate to dominate. That will have to be decoupled for the safety of the free world.
Take another hit of fentanyl in your free world boomer
Actually, China has more freedom than US. Of course, that is something you can never understand and able to accept!
This feel that white people have of china. I think Chinese also have problems with high tech western firms in china. For the Chinese, they want safety from western tech firms.
