I still don't see why it would be hard to modernize RE5. Take the same level of research you employed for RE2's remake in terms of setting and culture and apply that modernized approach to another country. The new AC Shadows is a game where an African man is going to Japan to presumably kill thousands of locals in a heroic role and people who aren't being idiots will be largely okay with this so long as the setting and culture is reasonably respected. Nioh has William Adams going across the country to be the hero as he kills thousands of locals. People mostly accepted this. These stories have been told before, are currently being told and could be told again in an RE5 remake. That said I'm happy with an RE0 remake. I assume RE1 will be next, Code Veronica after that and then RE5.

Hi-fi rush was cheaper and a great game. It was also around the same 12ish hour mark that South of Midnight is targeting.
