I believe I have same bike vin# 3j6 004002. Can't seem to find the right carb info. Has same king and queen seat even. This bike has a production date of Aug 1979 titled as 1980. Any info you can help with would be great. Carbs must have been rebuilt but I pulled of and the enrichment screens were about plugged and carbs we all dirty. Looked like some kind of rubber or something in them. Need all new vacuum lines and carb to motor rubber mounts? And carb to air box? As with the right carb rebuild kit? Has all 110 mains. 42 pilots? Thank for your videos and any help you can give.
hey Mr. geezer moto if I send you my you my 686 carbs can you do them right for me, they feel funny I bought it off of someone and I don't think its done right, had to by a new airbox with the right setup and filter cuz he just screwed in the filter the the box? If so let me know and the info and I'll send it in to you. thank you in advance for your time
I'd have to check the carbs, standard airbox no lid air filter was screwed into airbox towards the carbs, not like the one In ur video with the proflow filter and adapter to the airbox. its jerks alot while mid throttle on every gear like about to shut off. 😊
@@Loso0315 that's fine as long as it has the baffle or "guts" that came with the yoshi pipe. If you have that and an air box lid, then you need the OEM mikuni carbs. I have done many 660's and these things are needed for the correct back pressure

Do the carbs say " Mikuni" on them?
Are you running standard airbox with the lid?
Are you running a complete exhaust with pipe silencer baffle?

You need an airbox lid and hunt for the word "Mikuni" on the carbs, and do not have exhaust pipe cut short or baffle removed
I know it has an aftermarket exhaust which 8s a yoshimura exhaust and its pretty loud😊

I got a 1980G I've been working on. I can hear the valves clattering away.
These engines have noisy valve train, just have the clearances right and let her rattle
