    The realisation came when I was watching this and the other video from an event: your approach is taking any piece of gear and make the best of it, concentrating on what you CAN do with it, rather than comparing it to other pieces of gear, and that's what pushes me to pick up my camera and just go and take pictures. And keeps my GAS in check as well, because you're showing how its not about any particular piece of kit, but rather how you use it. Cheers!

    I had the x100F and I credit it for really pushing my photography to another level coming from a DSLR and 18-55 zoom (Nikon d3200 APSC).
    I loved the form factor and being limited by the lens was beneficial long term. The x100 series was a stepping stone to Leica M for me

      It really can be a gateway drug into Leica M for sure. But it is also a fantastic sidekick as well.

    Lovely photos as usual John. I have just received delivery of a used 100V while I wait for the VI. I agree these cameras are fun to use and easily pocketable even in jeans front pocket. The photo quality of the V is excellent. I think I’m going to have to keep it until the VI eventually arrives. I tried the built-in flash on a coffee cup and it added a lovely sparkle. Still lots of settings to get to grips with and possibly adjust. I think you’ve sold me on your Godox set up for remote flash. Thanks for that and your channel.

    John, I know that you're a fan of the 50mm lens. I have the X100V (sadly, not the VI) and I have both the Tele and Wide auxiliary lenses. The Tele gives you a 50mm equivalent, the Wide is a 28mm equivalent. Never having been a fan of auxiliary lenses, I'm surprised and pleased with the results of both these lenses. If you can get your hands on them, give 'em a try.

      I’m sorry, I thought I commented on this, but it doesn’t look like it’s here. I have used the 50 conversion lens on the X100V. I thought it was really nice quality. But lately, I’ve really been enjoying the 35 mm focal length.

    Thank you for mentioning that battery charger! I've been looking for a usb-powered charger for those smaller Fuji batteries for years. I've been using an X100 for professional work for about four years (the V was the first one I felt comfortable taking on a shoot, and the VI has been a marked improvement in every way). I'm mostly doing editorial work, so I definitely wouldn't use it as my only camera on a commercial engagement, but I'm shooting an event tomorrow with the X100vi and an XT-50 for longer focal lengths and I'd definitely feel comfortable with that setup for almost any shoot.

    • @kaskoPhoto
      @kaskoPhoto  5 дней назад +1

      I think you will love the results. I used it in both natural light and with darker conditions at iso 800 and 1600 with the V350 flash, amazing.

    If just for fun, is it still X100VI or Zf or Leica D Lux 8 or Hasselblads X2D?
    And does the fun ou mentioned is from the dedicate dials and aperture ring and do camera ith spinning dials shoot like a computer instead od camera?

    • @kaskoPhoto
      @kaskoPhoto  4 дня назад +1

      I really think that is a question whose answer is dependent on you and your shooting style. What is fun to me is definitely not fun for others. You have to play and see what makes you personally happy.

    As if the Fuji X100VI needed any more hype 😂 The scalper prices on eBay are currently going UP!! Enjoyed the video. The built in ND filter is a great USP.

    • @dsimon9s29
      @dsimon9s29 5 дней назад +1

      @@RikMaxSpeed They are selling every unit they are making. Personally (and it is only my opinion), I would not expect them to increase capacity. Leica Q3 is in a similar position and instead of increasing production, they just announced a $300 increase in their price (increase in prices across their entire product line). Whether real or manufactured, a company gets a lot of publicity (free advertising) when a product like the X100VI is back ordered.

    I was let down many times by Fuji over the decade, I unfortunately used them for my main camera system. For paid events, and low light stuff, AFC etc, they were a nightmare. There's a real bad taste in my mouth still when it comes to anything Fuji. I'm rocking Nikon Z now for the last two years, and man, a world of difference. Even my clients commented on the magic in my images, that hadn't been there before. By business improved and so much happened when I swapped to Nikon. I'm just filthy with myself for slumming it with Fuji for so long. You are a brave man John!

      @@christophsauer2857 Two Z6ii's with 6 of their Z lenses. People complain about the AFC on the Z6ii, but i shoot fast moving events, bands, people dancing, demonstrations - very seldom ever miss focus. If you are familiar with your gear, have the right settings and know your schtick - then it's all good. Love the Nikon system - the images are gorgeous.

    high noon sun is never good for portraits as the lighting is terrible. You have her half in sun and half in shadow in some of these shots, it's very amateur looking honestly. Try again in better lighting maybe.

      @@kaskoPhoto doesn’t matter how long you have been doing it. Bad photos are bad photos. You should at the very least have a diffusion panel if you are going to shoot in midday sun. I’d imagine you’ve heard of one if you’ve been doing this for 40 years….
