As you can imagine, my father was very happy to take some of these supplies home - he now has a box of gouache, a box of oil pastels, and the two small boxes of markers (including the bunny pin, lol). He may well end up with more markers once I've gone through them all and made up a giant set. There will be plenty of remaining duplicate colours, I'm sure!
Congratulations 🎉Arrtex, what a generous gift! It’s awesome you now have a wonderful supply of the brush markers you needed. 👍🏼 One of the things I’ve learned, when I have duplicate supplies, they aren’t as precious as they are when I only have one. Takes away the “fear” of not having it any more so it’s easier to use and create beautiful works of art! Have fun! Enjoy going through them and creating your rainbow of markers! 👍🏼 Fran
What a fun parcel to receive! Sounds like you’ll be able to put the items to good use too… lucky for your dad too, that’s fantastic there were some duplicates for him! I think the postage would be crazy, I’d be sharing locally, or storing them for backups later.
Hi, Becky! I watched this yesterday, but didn't get a chance to comment. What a box of goodies!!!! Skimming through the comments and your replies, I'm really glad that you've decided to share these locally, especially because you've said that they are mega-expensive in Australia. I think sharing them with friends is a really good way to go, but as others have said, don't forget to keep a few spares for yourself. I'd love to hear your dad's thoughts when he has tried his new supplies. Hopefully, the sick family members are recovering well? Hope the cats have enjoyed all their Christmas treats, too. Ours always loved their share of the Christmas roast beef. Special occasions were the only time that they had the same meat as we did, and they always knew when those occasions were. They'd be rubbing round my legs as soon as it came out of the oven, but they had to wait until we were served, so they had it with us (ie near, not at, the table! ). They always finished before we did, though. I had to keep an eye on them so that the one who finished first didn't try to get at the other one's bowl!!!
I'm sure he'll enjoy them! I can't wait to try the watercolours and gouache. I've used some of the markers and they're great too! I guess people are getting better? Haven't heard much for a few days - a lot of it going around though. Nick went to his work's Christmas party a few weeks ago, and that turned into a super spreader event, but somehow he and I have managed to avoid catching any lurgies over Christmas, thankfully! Cats enjoyed their snippets of dinner and Gandalf sat on the chair next to me for most of it. It was his third birthday yesterday!
That is very nice of Arrtx to send you all this materials so you can produce beautiful artwork for us to see ❤❤ I will definitely consider to buy their products next time I shop. Happy New Years Eve for all 😊
This haul is insane! It’s amazing and hilarious at the same time. What makes it even better was that fact that it was complimentary. Enjoy your goodies. Duplicates are good because you don’t have any refills. If you plan on giving them away it might be better to give the away locally. Shipping from Australia around the world might be prohibitively expensive. Who knows, it might be cheaper if people bought their own supplies instead of paying for shipping! 😅
Haha yes the international shipping rates are astronomical. Local giveaways or I'll keep spares. I had to drag the box through the house because it was too heavy to lift. 🤣
I kind of just left it for a few days because my brain couldn't comprehend the amount of boxes in there, lol! I am looking forward to using the gouache. 🙂
Wow, what a haul! So glad you can finally get stuck into the world of alcohol markers! I think giving it to your friends who'd want the spares/extras is a great idea, though you could probably keep some yourself in case a pen runs out or something down the line and then you'd have replacements. I've got Copics and Ohuhu's so I know it's pretty fun to play with. Happy arting this next year!
40lbs of art supplies!!😮😂 it was like a never ending box! Especially the amount of markers, that is insane. I am glad your dad can make use of some of them! It would be fun if you sent some of these to other Australian art RUclipsrs. Then the postage wouldn’t be too ridiculous, and maybe they could open them on their channels also🤔
Hi Becky, I am so glad you received these art supplies. What a wonderful gift. I bet your Dad was really happy to get some art supplies. I think giving away the art supplies you aren't keeping to your local area is better than paying an exorbitant amount of money to ship them.
@Becky Tregear Art I do think so. Maybe to a library or other social organization. Is there a senior center that could use them? Or even so a giveaway for Australians only.
What a gorgeous surprise for you and wow so many markers .. I'm keen to get some of those.and the vision paints omgosh !!! They're gorgeous too ..well-deserved enjoy
