Ah, those were the days...green shield stamps and the Merchant's dog 🐕 showing a bit of disrespect to Fahy's shopfront...1977 the year that Captain Robert Nairac disappeared in South Armagh where the Troubles were in full throttle but Athenry seemed so far away from such turmoil 🇮🇪🇺🇦🇪🇺

Niall, it was most likely my brother Noel Glynn who filmed the Fahy's store footage featuring Seamus and Tom Fahy Snr. as well as Rose Reillwho worked there. I filmed the 'Dancing in the Square' and the 'Steam train at the station' film in which your brother can be seen.

@@desiglynn3727 Tom was my uncle, Sean is my cousin. Your Da showed me the film Full Metal Jacket in early 80's I think.
