For the generous souls who wish to bestow upon me the blessing of books! www.amazon.com...
Scratched the surface.... 😂 Great review! I think I need to re-read this one before I start Shorefall.
Did not even realize the pun! Niiice.
I feel like the world is just willing me to read this book!
You must. It is a need, not a want.
LOL omg I loved your description of Orso 🤣🤣 it was scrumming perfect!
This was such a scrumming awesome review Allen! You know I’ve already read it but you just made me wanna reread it with this review lol 😂
It's so scrumming good. And that's literally how I picture Orso. :p
I enjoyed this review and agreed with a great deal of your opinions.
😃😃
I scrumming love your descriptions of the characters! Also love Orso - he only gets better in Shorefall
I REALLY want to read this now! I haven’t read any by him either - but your excitement and enjoyment is contagious. I hope to pick it up very soon!!!
Lezlie, it's SO GOOD. It's just a super exciting read.
I guess I'll have to move this up my wishlist.
Doooo eeeet.
I love your rating system!
Thanks! :))
I haven't read it
I realllly want to read Foundryside! Great video- you’ve managed to move it up on my TBR 😄
Yeeessss! Doooo eeeet!
Awesome review Allen! :)
Quick question - did I see it right, that this edition you have is a floppy paperback??
Yes! I have the paperback of this one, but the HC of Shorefall!
I may have to check this out! I just finished Misery by the great Stephen King
It's a great read.
"She's not the quipster, so we don't have like 80 qpms up in here." I broke into uncontrollable laughter after hearing that. Absolutely hilarious. And the complaint about villains telling henchmen to kill heroes for them, YES. I'M SO SICK OF IT! IS EVERY VILLAIN INCOMPETENT? JUST DO IT YOURSELF!
YES THANK YOU. IF YOU'RE A POWERFUL VILLAIN GO KILL THE HERO FOR THE LOVE OF HUMANITY
YESSSSS LOVE FOUNDRYSIDE! i gave this 5* too, same with shorefall, and i need the 3rd book asap ;A;
orso was my favorite character too xD
JUSTICE! Love this review, can’t wait to get further into Foundryside 🥳
I love me some Gregor!!
The magic system kind of reminds me of Brandon Sanderson's The Emperor's Soul. But the difference is one of tense. Emperor's Soul it's about rewriting the history of the object rather than "tricking" it, but I haven't read Foundryside yet so I don't know the extent of difference. Just a random thought.
Ooooo very cool! I haven't read any Sanderson yet, so I'm in the opposite boat!
@@TheLibraryofAllenxandria If you ever want to dip your toe in without super committing to something massive like the Stormlight Archive, I'd recommend Emperor's Soul. It's a novella and it's pretty much entirely standalone. Also one of his better works, in my opinion.
@@Auron200004 oh heck yes. I haven't even heard of that story!
@@TheLibraryofAllenxandria Well then, I'm certainly glad to inform you. You've added Django Wexler and Foundryside to my TBR, so glad to return the favor! Love your channel, by the way. You deserve a ton of views.
Thanks so much!
I want to read this book! I actually saw this book on a YA recommendations video, so I think it could appeal to either audience. Not a fan of some of those weak points, like villian monologues and formulaic info-dumps, but it still sounds like a worthwhile read. By the way, if you dislike made-up curse words, you will probably find Sanderson annoying. He does it all the storming time!
It's so good. And I completely get not liking those particular tropes and I don't love all of them (I'm ok with monologuing), I think this book really manages to transcend all of its flaws. It's a great example of how a flawed book can still be a 5 star read for the right reader!
I think Orso was also my favorite character! Completely agree with you about the characters rising above their archetypes. I was kind of surprised by how much I liked them all. I'm really curious what you will think of Shorefall, because it was a big letdown for me, largely because of an (in my opinion) overpowered villain, a weird timeskip in between books, and excessive expository flashbacks. But a lot of people seem to be enjoying Shorefall as well, and I'm still excited for the next book whenever that comes out.
LOOOOVE Orso. And ooooo...now I'm curious about Shorefall. I REALLY want to make some guesses, but that falls into what I was talking about in the video about not really wanting to know despite my predictions. Timeskips I love less.
OMGGGG! I am so behind with this one! I have my copy and I am for sure picking it up really soon! This was a great video. I enjoyed your review and I can't wait to dive into this world.
It's so good!
I have been waiting on my library hold for this for what feels like forever but in actuality has probably only been like 2 weeks. I can't wait to get my hands on it.
Oh man, read as soon as you get it. I loved it!
"Very tolerable" = a positive review when Allen discusses rogues
I laughed out loud at this.
I loved this book and shorefall 🙈❤️I plan to read city of stairs soon so happy u liked it too love your channel
Thanks so much! I'm excited to read Shorefall!
