  • Serey Chea explains why she used blockchain FinTech to develop Asia's first 'digital currency' Bakong in her country of Cambodia. As Director-General of its central bank, she led the initiative for the peer-to-peer payment system which combines e-wallets, mobile payments, online banking and financial applications within a single interface. She breaks down how blockchain works and explain why it's revolutionary for improving financial gender inclusion for women.
She passionately advocates how financial independence for women is vital as a means towards gender equality. She draws from her own life experience and unanticipated divorce after 20 years of marriage as example.
