This is actually a personal song about Ben, although anyone can relate. It deals with addiction, in this case I believe it was alcohol but it could work for anything. You are addicted to something and you hate it. You want it to go away and you try to fight but it keeps winning. You then hate yourself for failing again and feel lifeless inside. You desperately look for the strength to fight before the cravings return and you choose to fight hard. The addiction then comes at you and punches you in the chest and you fight as best you can knowing that if you don't kill the addiction it will end up killing you. The addiction wins again and it's like pouring salt in an open wound. And the cycle repeats over and over and over........
A song by them that I can easily go back to almost everyday!

It's how you want to decipher it with self addiction or relationships i'll take it as a relationship she takes a breath right out of me and left a hole were my heart should be he's got a fight just to make it through because she will be the death of you I'm going through heartbreak right now and this song relates I love her to death but she don't love me back and she wants her space it hurts so much breaking Benjamin really helped me

Seen them live about a half dozen times over the years, from 2004 till 2012, and they are amazing every single time.

Failure wasn’t the song that got me into the band, I’ve loved them since the beginning but failure is my all time favorite. It came out at a time in my life when I was going through a break up and I was in a dark place and it just hit me in my soul 😂
