    Art, Thanks for the great video. I was calibrating my monitor a Pelco (Model #: PMCL643 345) and if I did anything under a Luminance Level under 250 dc/m2 it looked HORRIBLE. Once I bumped the luminance to 250 or Native it was great. Can you speak to the reason? It took me about a 8 hours of work to figure out the solution (just bump the Luminance level). You said something about the colors get compressed on lower levels? I realize this monitor is not designed for photo work . . . . but I would love to know the reason why. Thanks in advanced!

    That was very thorough but I only understood about 10% as I have just got the x-rite for my PC and it was difficult enough to find the software on the website. I’ll do a walkthrough and see what happens.

    For notebook display RGB is non adjustable and set white point to D65 cast the screen to quite yellow. Normally what people do? Set white point to D65 and live with some color cast/little dim or change setting white point to native and live with quite off white point? I'm on stage that can't decide.

    Hi, thx for this vidéo. The support of XRite sounds useness, to be polite.. I eventually calibrated two laptops with Win 7 and 8, but Lightroom cant be used with these OS.
    I have a little tower PC (HPline with 32Go and a I7 but the chipset is on the main card) with Windows 10 and a BenQ screen, bought to edit and print photos. Usually the screen is used with the max setting, something as 2K, 2500x1450, this BenQ is a starting model, calibrated 509 aso, ..
    I have two "sondes' (sorry, Im french), one is probably a Colormunki renamed by XRite, the other is made to calibrate the screen but the prints too.
    The problem is apparently the same with the two devices : when connected to USB 2 or 3, I get the usual sound when a new device is connected, but when the program runs, it always indicates that no 'sonde' is connected, so I cant go to the following screen and calibrate the screen nor the prints (I forgot, I have a chart to photography too). I downloaded several programs hoping that the 'sondes' will be recognized, with no result, and after all the programs worked under Win 7 and 8..
    All the upgrades of Win 10 are done.
    Could anyone tell me what happens ans what to do ? This was bought at.all about 700€-800€ in France, for nothing..
    Many thanks again for the video. And if somebody can help me..
    Sincerely yours, Milos.

    Art, thank you so much for your very thorough tutorial. It was very helpful. I referred to when I did my last calibration on my laptop. The final trending graph shows a slight increase and I wonder if it might have been do to my adjustment of the screen brightness during the calibration. I couldn't adjust it to exactly 100 -- 102 was the closest I could set it to. Could that have caused the difference in trending? The new monitor brightness level is 80, the previous level was 70. Should I leave it at 80 or adjust it back to 70. Thank you in advance for your help.

    Hi I would like to know if Calibrite X-Rite i1Display Pro can be installed on Windows 7 Professional 64 bit? Intel (R) Core i7 4770 GPU, 3.40 GHz, 8.0 GB RamCon Nvidia GeForce Gtx 650 Ti video card. From the official site Calibrtite indicates that it is fine from the Windows 8 version onwards, but it does not indicate if it is also fine for a version of Windows 7.
    My monitor is NEC MultySync P242W is suitable with this calibration tool? I await your reply, cordial greetings. Thank you.

    Thank you for the video. This Dell XPS is supposed to be 500 nits. Why is it showing only 392? I have the LED version and using i1 Display Pro Plus it shows only 250 nits, where the spec is 500 nits.

    Most laptops have 2 switchable video cards integrated and discrete graphics. What video cards calibrate X-Rite i1Display Pro and if it calibrates the main intel card, when changing the card on the nvidia icc profile won't it be wrong?

      In windows they are saved in: C:\Windows\System32\spool\drivers\color
      It is either ICC or ICM files.

    Can this be used to calibrate a TV?

  • @piotrrutkiewicz6632
    @piotrrutkiewicz6632 4 года назад

    Calibration results are good if you have a good laptop and a display like the XPS 15. But what if you have an older laptop with a TN display and the results Compare profile are not what you wanted? Can it be corrected with some settings? Can I do anything about it and do I have to accept it?

    • @ArtIsRight
      @ArtIsRight 4 года назад

      If you have an older laptop display with TN Panel, your best option would be to get an external display. There's not much that can be done on an internal alto calibration to especially if the display cannot show the calibration well.

    What if you have a higher All Patches result. Like I scored 4,2. I'm going to guess and set the Max delta threshold a bit higher like 8. Anyone knows how to set these thresholds and what are they determining in the normal functioning of the device?

    • @APBXylon
      @APBXylon 2 года назад +1

      Delta E means average deviation from the reference colours. Lower is better. A value of 0 means your measured colours are surgically accurate. A value of 4,2 means your colours are noticeable to the naked eye that some colours are different when comparing 2 different monitors. The results from this person (0.7) means the colours are accurate enough to be unnoticeable, but still not absolutely perfect. This is due to physical limitation of the technology and the way the panels are cut. This value is totally acceptable even for accurate colour work personnel.
      Changing average threshold just means that the program will show you what patches or colours are different compared to the reference. Setting a threshold of 0.1 shows you all the tiles where the deviation is above 0.1, for instance. Settings maximum threshold is just you setting a target for yourself; this person set a max threshold of 5, meaning his calibration will be deemed 'pass' if his average deviation reaches below 5.
