Great review. I built this kit as a kid in the 1960’s. I just built this Atlantis remake kit and used yours as a guide. I was pleasantly surprised that it has the original “1956 Aurora, West Hempstead NY” on the bottom, so it’s the original mold. The model was more challenging to build than I had expected, though. I used Home Depot bought silver spray paint, Testors silver and gold and various acrylic craft paints from Walmart to paint mine. Testors tube glue (similar to the glue I used as a kid.). I love these old Aurora kits. I’m happy with the results!
Woohoo! I'm glad you got to relive some great memories and build this kit. Sounds like you had a great time, too. Thanks for watching and commenting. Have a great weekend 👍
Got the armor painted up. Very happy with what we are given to work with.
NICE! I really enjoyed the painting process on this kit.
Looks great. Love these old kits that Atlantic is bringing back. ~ Thomas
Thanks Thomas! I agree, they are bringing back some great kits. Thanks for watching, have a great week.
Great job!
Thanks! And thanks for watching. Have a great week. 👍
Nce build!! I did buy the original knights from 1963. Can't wait to build. I like your idea of contrast with the blue. Thanks!!!
Thank you! And thanks for watching and commenting. Have a great week.
Turned out really nice
Thanks Dan. Have a great weekend 👍
Really turned out nice, 😎👍✌️
Thank you, sir. I hope you have a great weekend 👍
Got mine started tonight. Not a bad kit so far.
It really is a nice kit. For as old as it is, I was really impressed.
It turned out really nice. Agreed, there’s a lot of flash. But it comes with the territory.
Thank you. And thanks for watching. Have a great weekend 👍
That's a great job, I happen to be building this one right now and wanted to get some ideas. I'll try a few. Hope they put out more of these I still have one my dad built over 50 years ago it's the Red knight of Vienna
Thank you! It's a really nice kit and goes together really well. I hope they release more of these as well. Thank you for watching and commenting. Have a great weekend.
Great review and build. Really like how you painted this one too. I may pick one up and add a skull head instead of the human head. It would fit in with the Aurora monsters then.
Thank you very much! A skull head would be really cool, great idea. Thanks for watching, have a great day.
Nice build, the suit of armor looks good.😊 I have 2 figures to build in my stash.😊
Thanks David! You should get those figure kits built. 😉 thanks for watching, have a great weekend 👍
great job,
Thank you 😊
Very enjoyable video of the kit, paint job and build. I have the old Aurora releases of the kits. I still have to get around to building them, and initially had given them a pass when I was younger. My view on the kits changed after seeing some of them in a video produced by Time Machine Toys many years ago. Seeing the video gave me a new perspective on the knights and other figure kits produced by Aurora. Now that some of these kits are being reissued I may end up buying a few extras to do some kit bashing. I've sometimes thought about modifying the poses of some of the Knights models to produce some displays with them in combat with each other. The reissues would probably make such a notion a bit less expensive to achieve. Great build and paint job. You've given me some ideas to be going along with when I finally get around to building the kits. Lots of things to do and never enough time.
Thank you so much for the kind words. I'm glad that my video has helped rekindle that spark to build these reissued kits. Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts. Have a great week.
It would be nice to see Atlantis bring over the Megaro Zamac kits.
I see those come up on ebay from time to time. Thanks for watching. Have a great day.
Have you thought about the black, red, blue knights or others?
Yes, at some point I will be building those as well. Thanks for watching! Have a great week.
Wonderful painting and color selection. I have this model so I shall refer to this. And steady hands as yours help make it. Well done you used acrylics? Thanks
Thank you! Yes, they are all acrylic paints. Enjoy building your kit and thanks for watching. Have a great week.
That turned out awesome. Itching to get to mine. Weren't there several more knight kits years ago?
Thanks! Yeah, there were 3 or 4 of them. Maybe someday we'll get more of them. Thanks for watching. Have a great weekend 👍
😊❤
Thank you!
Had to watch this again. Outstanding job. Was it Atlantis that made a 101st Paratrooper in a similar scale? Always regretted not grabbing that one when I had the chance.
Thank you very much, I appreciate it. I don't think Atlantis made the paratrooper. I did a quick search on scalemates and there are a few, but not by Atlantis. I checked out your Silver Knight video too, your making great progress. I'm looking forward to seeing your completed build. Have a great week and thanks for watching.
I’m more than a few months behind, but the 1/10 paratrooper was an Ideal (ITC) kit in the early 60s. Glencoe reissued it in the early 90s, but it has since disappeared again.
@@mjames70 thanks.
@@TI4438 Ideal was one of the many companies that got in the model business briefly in the 60s, but exited after only a few years of production. At some point, Glencoe acquired at least some of their molds, and has reissued them. But it’s been a long time on the paratrooper. Glencoe added a few new parts to the old Ideal kit to make it a ‘modern’ version, too. It was issued around the time of Desert Shield/Storm in the early 90s, and hasn’t come out again since. Glencoe is still in business, so you never know!
