I love the den! I am very fond of the paneling; I grew up in a house with paneling and so it is a comfort look for me. I especially like that it can be painted to now fit into this millennium! And that rock fireplace...wow! Just wow!!! By chance, will you post the color of the wall paint in the den? I can tell it isn't stark white but looks so bright and clean. Accolades to you, hubby and the young men!
Thanks, Coni! The wall color is Silver Drop by Behr. It’s one of those grays that looks warm or cool depending on the lighting and furnishings in a room. I have used it before and really liked it. We are using it through the entire house except for the boy’s rooms. They picked their own paint out.
Your den is beautiful!! SO inviting!! My husband and I are in our mid 50s now and every house that we have owned, we have updated to our liking but we appreciate the unique architecture of each house. We try not to make our houses look like all the rest of the houses that are being built at that time. We’ve been in our current home for 10 years and the ceilings are all vaulted, 12 feet high and are natural beams and planks. Can’t remember what that kind of ceiling is called! Lol! It looks like a lodge and we love it! We did some nice neutral-ish, yet fresh colors on the walls throughout the house so it’s not dark at all, just cozy. It was a bank repossession when we bought it, complete with sheep poo IN two of the rooms. We either refinished, or at least thoroughly cleaned every inch of this house over six months before moving in. It was horrendous! Now it is our favorite house ever! My husband is amazing at this kind of work; I’m good with a paintbrush and a scrub brush. Lol!! Looking forward to the future updates that you share with us. 🏡

The den looks so fresh and bright yet still cozy! ❤ let us know how you like having the microwave in th pantry. We are about to move our pantry and I’m thinking of putting the microwave in it.
I’m very happy with our decision to put the microwave in the pantry! The only thing I recommend considering is not having counter space to set something on before or after or if you need to stir something. I have adjusted, but it was kind of weird to begin with.
Thank you for the updates! Love your den! I also love that you placed the tv on your wall and not above the mantel. We have lived in our house for 29 years and we do updates out of cash and try to do the updates our self as well. It does take a little longer but it’s worth it.
