Brawler's has been a low key great landing spot. Usually 4 avengers chests, tons of regular chests and lots of barrels. I usually leave there with a solid loadout.

The new monarch pistol is stupidly broken: 70+ damage while aiming and 100+ headshot. Can't put ACOG and sniper scopes on it though. And the fact that it deals that amount of damage while being a light ammo weapon makes it incredible off spawn because you can't really run out of spare ammo.
132 on the legendary and 137 on the mythic for headshots. It has an outstanding range as well ive hit people in the body for 80 at around 50-60 meters and its a 2 tap to the head. Absolutely insane weapon but i love it

It's crazy how even though we still have barrage powers like doom + war machine, it feels less broken than the car weapons because its a normal player moving at normal speed.
The new shield is hugely OP especially in early game. It blocks better than the magneto gloves, it melees better than the nitro fists, and if someone is close enough to bash you with it, there's virtually no changeover time between block and bash. And there's a mobility boost when sprinting.

War machine turret, jetpack and cap shield is UTTER CANCER. Genuinely worse than the ballistic shield. 60 damage from the shield which basically auto aims, and bursts from the turret, then the invincibility prevents damage. I’ve had a worse time trying to break the shield too. Ballistic got broken quite easily with an SMG. Again, no snipers. Better long range would help counter the turret because it can’t aim far. Does Epic hate skill or something?
The jetpack dash is an interesting tech for mobility I don't press the boost button in the air, I do it from a ground sprint without letting the sprint button go

I’m actually enjoying this season. IMO besides the war machine items, caps shield, and siphon medallion; the rest of the mythics and medallions are trash. It’s fun to fly around with the war machine items but it’s also risky because you’re exposed and don’t go that fast so it’s easy to get shot out of the sky. Also this is the first season in chapter 5 where I feel like I can win the match just by looting anywhere on the map instead of only going after the bosses and medallions to win.
I am noticing the shoulder cannon pointing at enemies before theyre actually close enough for it to start firing. Coyld be wromg but I think it can do that 😮

ty for the bubble shield tip! and i personally think that the war machine turret is kind of eh, mostly because i feel like that it alerts BOTH players for mid damage. it's like a sidegrade of the frost medallion in which you exchange the ability to see multiple people for a weak "gun" that also alert the other player of your position. wish being targeted appeared in the sound visualizer to.
Something I noticed about the Aug (This is how the community usually calls the Striker Burst AR for those newer to the game) usually comes with red dot, of course not counting the gray rarity because doesn't come with mods
They did not MISS with the BP this season. Even the stupid fortnite meme skins that I usually dislike, I can at least appreciate the effort with this season’s. I’m hoping the upcoming quest reward pages have a Punisher war machine recolour and hydra cap jonesy.
Sad to see the Thunder Burst go, ive been using it since the Striker left as i preferred it over the warforged AR. The sadness is softened though by the return of the Striker AR (does it have less recoil than before, sure i used to need both attachments to keep it steady previously 🤔) the Striker is such a powerful AR though, glad to be using it again. Current loadout: Gatekeeper Striker AR Shockwaves or twin mag smg Jet pack Flowberry/fizz
@@tmoney1487 I like they do a lot of quick damage, so until gatekeeper has drum mag they can be a good switch, however, going by other comments I may try the monarch pistol in that slot for a bit
I've seen in an endgame how vital the jet pack is for mobility. I've enjoyed using the dual smg along with a shotgun. Considering Jake's point on shield bubbles, they may be the deciding factors in winning close battles and also avoid being third partied.
2 things i noticed that were annoying with green water dash . 1 skulls/ dashes are visable with mysterio medallion. 2. If you double tap jump and you have warmachine jet pack you use a dash as well as the jet pack always on even if you aren't toggled on that inventory slot
i'm really disappointed in the lack of mobility this season compared to last - i guess i just got spoiled with nitro but i've always been of the opinion that it's great fun to be able to move quickly in this game and now the only thing providing that is the jetpack (+ rings, if you land desert). it also almost feels like they nerfed sprint again but i haven't bothered to confirm that at all. idk. i need to give it another shot i guess, the sweaty kids that had been playing all day rolled my squad almost every single game we played last night so i'm feeling uncharitable towards this season so far lmfao
Great analysis Jake...I haven't played too many games so far and haven't experienced being overwhelmed by the war machine or Dr Doom attacks but I think the shield bubble defense is great advice and I'm definitely going to practice the jet pack movements as you recommended. Technically when jetpacking the crouch doesn't just descent, it just disengages the jetpack altogether. And you drop fully (unless you tap jump again), while also not taking fall damage. Felt it's worth clarifying.
But might this also not be based on your setting , click for sprint / crouch or hold for sprint /crouch . I have the same experience as you when I tap it disengages ,and mine is set where I click to sprint /crouch .
@@1andonlySella Hm, I don't imagine so. I'm holding to sprint and tapping to crouch. With the jetpack I just tap to activate the sprint mode, I don't think it's related to settings. And similarly, I don't imagine that the disengage is related to settings, you just tap it and jetpack is off.

Epic removed cars at the last minute. There is no reason to have nitro launch rings and them not exist. It suggests that due to all the negative feedback they removed it and didn’t have time to take them out the map.
I like the shield, its great tp use when your up against 2 players it ricochets and u can deflect thier shots, and ramming into them. That war machine man its insane lol loved using the rockets and the fists fire rapid shots that are like the mini gun. Cars also run outta gas quicker and the nitro circles dont give you a boost, i wonder why they kept them lol
W video Jake. Mixed thoughts so far. Battlepass is 10/10. Loot pool I don’t know yet. Caps shield needs a nerf, as does the war machine Arsenal. More movement is needed I think, I’d like to see shock spawn rate buffed.
Someone said that Dr. Doom killed Magneto and that explains why we don't have the gloves anymore. I'm personally enjoying this season so far. Its mostly gunplay for the most part and I am getting way more kills now. Learning how to aim better with ARs and not just relying on Thunder Burst. Those rockets are way overpowered cause its bullet hell. I enjoy the shoulder auto target turret but it gets confusing when my controller is vibrating when its getting hits on an opponent because it feels like I'm taking hits. I ran into one person with the Doom gauntlets and had no time to react. Ended up getting 2nd. No wins yet but I'm still having fun. There are gurantee spawn locations with the big chests at certain locations. So that can be useful when finding your drop point. Shield is a pain because as far as I know, they is no meter or damage input that knocks the shield down temporarily. I'm sure there's a way to still get damage, like headshots. Two main weapons are Striker AR and Burst AR both with red eye scope.
I found shield most annoying. Throwing is like meh I just kill u but blocking literally everything is just like whyyyy Also new umbrella is cool I lov it .
@@GShock411 except forbthe fact that you cant attack with it while blocking and when you do attack with it you lose its protective qualities entirely. I feel like everyone is having too much of a knee jerk reaction to it because of its similarity to the ballistic shield but aren't realizing that they took away the gun that made it so oppressive in the first place.
I also like the beginning of this season so far. I had no idea how to use the jetpacks though. Controller buttons are not explained and couldn't figure out how to go up. I guess I'll wait for one of your videos which will be explaining everything about it ;)
Genuinely enjoy using a mix of the new guns and mythics this season. My loadout consists of the Dr doom mythic and his pistol, a gatekeeper shotgun, a jetpack, and shields for heals.
Yeah I figured out the war machine dash pretty damn fast. REALLY fun. Glad it’s harder to pull off though because everyone dashing around in pubs would be a nightmare lol.
There seems to be an ongoing theme here, the pulse rifle, monarch pistol and sovereign shotgun, all high fire rate and less damage non ads, lower fire rate and more damage in ads Also depressing we have no more snipers
I like the new season on first impression, and I'm happy with almost all of the vaulted items except I'm going to miss my burst SMG. RIP until unvault. I had fun using the War Machine guns and rockets, but I wish they weren't in the game. The shield was easy to use and hard to play against, but I think that's how we felt about the riot shield / pistol thingy a few seasons back until we figured out how to easily counter it. I really like the new mechanic on the sovereign shotgun of differing fire rates. Is this the first gun with that feature? It seemed to me that the Monarch pistol also had two fire rates, but I can't be sure. GGs Jake! And thank you as always! I'll look forward to your next Inside the Mind video.

I noticed that distance was key for me. Either staying on the very edge of the wrong side of the circle or staying inside it waiting for players. It counters most of the "stupid shit" that the mental issue DEVs threw at us this Season. But yeah, pretty agressive Season. Quite common for me to be messing around and "Holly fuck, it's just us and another team and they have all medallions."
Could you talk about the sovereign more. Like how does aiming only a little effect the rate of fire? And can you aim in, shoot, then let go of aim to get faster rate, then aim again?
i experience this weird thing yesterday where my sprint did 150 structure damage even though i had no item to do so. I was wondering if it was a glitch or did i have a medallion that gives it to you or is it a new weapon mod or something? the animation looked like i took a frying pan out and smacked the wall while breaking through it
There's a weird glitch where the game thinks you have a shield and your sprint behaves as such (so it takes a second to build up speed, and you'll crash into objects and people dealing damage). I was so confused when it first happened to me before realizing it's treating it as a shield, at a later game I realized (I'm presuming picking up and dropping shield would have fixed it) but yeah didn't even have one in my inventory at the time.
I discovered something rather funny, the Peabody NPC located south of Nitrodome drops a gray pistol when you eliminate him With gray pistol I'm talking about the OG Pistol, hitscan and all

I was playing yesterday when the new season dropped and killed a player that was using the thunder burst smg, can you still get one somewhere on the map or did they decide to not vault them???
Is just a console thing where turning doesn't stop right after releasing the direction. Like I let go of the stick the gun keeps turning for a like split second? Is there an easy way to stop or is just a controller input lag

Yeah, it is insane up close. They hit you and you can't hit them unless you flank them or headshot.

Nah the jetpack is SUPER good. If you know how go use it, it’s practically infinite underworld dashes (albeit a bit clunkier).

Jet pack, auto turret and shield with the new pistol was an insane loadout for me earlier. Too op i stopped having fun and changed tactics
Monarch has two firing speeds as well depending on if you’re hip firing vs ads

Mysterio medallion is the most useless one ever. Maybe if it allowed you to get a few shots off while invisible it would be cool.
Or if it made you turn invisible when you got under 50hp

But might this also not be based on your setting , click for sprint / crouch or hold for sprint /crouch . I have the same experience as you when I tap it disengages ,and mine is set where I click to sprint /crouch .
@@1andonlySella Hm, I don't imagine so. I'm holding to sprint and tapping to crouch. With the jetpack I just tap to activate the sprint mode, I don't think it's related to settings. And similarly, I don't imagine that the disengage is related to settings, you just tap it and jetpack is off.
This season is a nice change of pace from the last and that’s what keeps this game interesting to me.

you can still get the thunder burst from drones and if you kill one npc i forgot her name nisha or something
that way of the npc is now vaulted and I assume the drone way is too the smg is completely gone

Great video. My kids and I were having the hardest time with movement today. Got killed in the storm a few times. RIP nitro 😢 you are so missed!!! Definitely going to try that jet-pak slide. I took the pack any time I found it just for a bit more mobility but the slide mechanic is genius.

I like that the Striker AR from ch5 s1 returned since i would mostly use the Nemesis AR during that season.
Epic removed cars at the last minute. There is no reason to have nitro launch rings and them not exist. It suggests that due to all the negative feedback they removed it and didn’t have time to take them out the map.
Crazy how few cars there are now.
I like the shield, its great tp use when your up against 2 players it ricochets and u can deflect thier shots, and ramming into them. That war machine man its insane lol loved using the rockets and the fists fire rapid shots that are like the mini gun. Cars also run outta gas quicker and the nitro circles dont give you a boost, i wonder why they kept them lol
W video Jake. Mixed thoughts so far. Battlepass is 10/10. Loot pool I don’t know yet. Caps shield needs a nerf, as does the war machine Arsenal. More movement is needed I think, I’d like to see shock spawn rate buffed.

I'm personally enjoying this season so far. Its mostly gunplay for the most part and I am getting way more kills now. Learning how to aim better with ARs and not just relying on Thunder Burst. Those rockets are way overpowered cause its bullet hell. I enjoy the shoulder auto target turret but it gets confusing when my controller is vibrating when its getting hits on an opponent because it feels like I'm taking hits. I ran into one person with the Doom gauntlets and had no time to react. Ended up getting 2nd. No wins yet but I'm still having fun. There are gurantee spawn locations with the big chests at certain locations. So that can be useful when finding your drop point. Shield is a pain because as far as I know, they is no meter or damage input that knocks the shield down temporarily. I'm sure there's a way to still get damage, like headshots. Two main weapons are Striker AR and Burst AR both with red eye scope.

@@GShock411 except forbthe fact that you cant attack with it while blocking and when you do attack with it you lose its protective qualities entirely. I feel like everyone is having too much of a knee jerk reaction to it because of its similarity to the ballistic shield but aren't realizing that they took away the gun that made it so oppressive in the first place.

Genuinely enjoy using a mix of the new guns and mythics this season. My loadout consists of the Dr doom mythic and his pistol, a gatekeeper shotgun, a jetpack, and shields for heals.

There seems to be an ongoing theme here, the pulse rifle, monarch pistol and sovereign shotgun, all high fire rate and less damage non ads, lower fire rate and more damage in ads

I like the new season on first impression, and I'm happy with almost all of the vaulted items except I'm going to miss my burst SMG. RIP until unvault. I had fun using the War Machine guns and rockets, but I wish they weren't in the game. The shield was easy to use and hard to play against, but I think that's how we felt about the riot shield / pistol thingy a few seasons back until we figured out how to easily counter it. I really like the new mechanic on the sovereign shotgun of differing fire rates. Is this the first gun with that feature? It seemed to me that the Monarch pistol also had two fire rates, but I can't be sure. GGs Jake! And thank you as always! I'll look forward to your next Inside the Mind video.

With the jet pack I figured out on my own how to do everything but always gets stuck in the crouch but the slide is definitely helpful

Mythic Monarch Pistol has just a red dot attached, but for some reason it carries 9 bullets per round instead of just 7
I noticed that distance was key for me.
Either staying on the very edge of the wrong side of the circle or staying inside it waiting for players.
It counters most of the "stupid shit" that the mental issue DEVs threw at us this Season.
But yeah, pretty agressive Season. Quite common for me to be messing around and "Holly fuck, it's just us and another team and they have all medallions."
Could you talk about the sovereign more. Like how does aiming only a little effect the rate of fire? And can you aim in, shoot, then let go of aim to get faster rate, then aim again?

i experience this weird thing yesterday where my sprint did 150 structure damage even though i had no item to do so. I was wondering if it was a glitch or did i have a medallion that gives it to you or is it a new weapon mod or something? the animation looked like i took a frying pan out and smacked the wall while breaking through it
There's a weird glitch where the game thinks you have a shield and your sprint behaves as such (so it takes a second to build up speed, and you'll crash into objects and people dealing damage). I was so confused when it first happened to me before realizing it's treating it as a shield, at a later game I realized (I'm presuming picking up and dropping shield would have fixed it) but yeah didn't even have one in my inventory at the time.
