Way to go with all the PSA 9’s! Cool items to add to your growing vintage SW collection. With regard to getting a Gem Mint 10 on these vintage packs, it is possible. I’ve seen some. Just because a pack “looks minty” to our naked eye doesn’t mean it’s going to get a mint grade. As you alluded to in the video, “centering” of the wrapper’s front image is critical to getting a 10. Everything in the wrapper image has to be perfectly centered (left to right) and (up to down). For instance, the writing at bottom, “1 STICK BUBBLE GUM” can’t be partially tucked/folded at bottom of pack. It has to be fully readable and sitting up from the bottom and perfectly centered from (left to right), and not angled. Also, like a card, the wrapper can’t have any creases, tears, scratches, dimples, or any surface or ink issues, and the wax seal on back has to be strong and evenly folded on the back. MTFBWY in your quest on getting a 10 on a sealed wax pack. Given your persistence and striving for excellence, I’m sure you’ll achieve that goal one day.

Yah… I can imagine how hard that is to get. A perfect pack, with all these potential minor flaws. I’ve never really looked at packs with this lens. Will be fun to look at some like this. Like maybe when I open this box of Series 5. Maybe I’ll keep an eye out for a “perfect pack” to send in maybe. Interesting. Thank you!

As someone who has never submitted packs to PSA(and would like to!), it would be great to see a video on how you do that exactly(Ex: How do you package them? etc. etc. = I think I saw one video with a guy putting a rubber band around the packs?). Ty.

Yeah, these things are so delicate... I put my packs in a team bag, put the team-bagged pack between two card savers and put that sandwich in a graded card bag and then bubblewrapped... Not my method: picked up from someone else...

Cool! Just sell those 8s and keep one set of 9s. I Want to do this too in the future. The wax packs look great. But just like you I would only send in the best. The rest is better for opening. :)

Nice return! Congrats! Believe it or not, the gum moving around, especially during shipping, can cause those slight tears in the wax. I wouldn’t have believed it if I hadn’t experienced it.

I think the Protagonist got it right, but after getting my SW ser1-5 packs(1 of each) back from PSA I'll be darned if I know why some are 8s and the others are 9s...

Wish PSA could simply fill out a grading form with every PSA return, where grader check ✅ boxes different categories that brought down the grade. They could make a simple form with categories like: wrapper crease, stain, image centering, wrapper tear(s), surface issue, etc… I don’t understand why they don’t implement that-quality issue check boxes to be included along with the return paperwork. They should do this for anything they grade.

For a guy called "Rippin'Stuff" there sure is a lack of ripping in this one! 😆 More like "E-dub Keepin'Stuff Sealed"!! JK. Interesting to see the results. Don't know too much about how they grade these. Probably similar criteria to cards with some nuance due to them being wrappers etc. Probably don't give out 10's too often...as per usual. I'm kind of curious if/what you're planning on doing next since you've kinda made your way through all the old sets.

Too damn funny… you’re right though. I’m changing my name to “E-Dub Keepin’Stuff”. Has a good ring! Might be a little boring though, if my videos are all of me putting stuff in cabinets for safe keeping 😂🤣.
Good question about what is next… I really didn’t plan on this being anything permanent. I still have like 5 returns to do, as well as open a box of 5. I’d also like to redo a couple boxes… but ultimately, the. It will be just completing sets and upgrading the grades that I have. Only time will tell I guess. I got a couple PSA returns yesterday. Will be making a video tonight I think. Thanks Ryan!! …as always
