Just thought I'd mention this but it's a pretty huge oversight they didn't add spacers to this. The fact that I don't use all the tools shouldn't be a knock. Been getting a lot of comments saying this and that but honestly this is something that should have been included in the product. And hopefully this gets to the people who make this that this shouldn't be neglected.

I also recommend using spacers, I’m pretty sure that’s what they’re for.

My guy. You are not using the tool as intended. It needs a full complement of tools for it to work correctly. As others have mentioned fill it up or order some spacers.
I would also add - if you are only planning to use a very simplified tool set there are likely to be better and smaller tools to meet that need.

Just to elaborate. Maybe it isn’t a multitool that you want.
This one was designed expressly to include the maximum number of tools in your pocket.
I doubt it occurred to them that somebody might want to take them all out and use it with only one tool. It’s a use case that of somewhat antithetical to their philosophy.

Interesting take. I believe the regular pliers Flex comes with spacers. Maybe they assumed everyone would fill all the slots on the Companion? Perhaps try contacting Roxon for some spacers.
BTW, I am pairing the Flex Companion with the Roxon M3 on my keys or in my 5th pocket. The M3 is the best folding scissors on the market, and has in line locking tools such as an awl, #1 Phillips and combo opener. Plus tweezers, toothpick and micro driver.
This opens up the scissor and awl slots on the Flex Companion. My 3 constant tools on the Flex Companion will be D2 blade, diamond file and bit driver. The other 3 slots will rotate depending on need.

I mean yeah the tool is clearly not meant to be used basically half assembled, you could probably 3d print spacers if you wanted to keep the weight down or find modules you actually want to carry. I definitely think you're in the minority, I can't image there are a lot of people buying this tool with the intent to leave half of it empty
