    It's really grown beautifully. Have you thought about a couple of cherry shrimp? Their color would pop!

    I can't get my husband into the hobby at all but at least he isn't completely against me having more than average tanks in the house.

      You're right! I stocked it with a ramshorn snail instead though. I figured he'd help clean up and make this a close to self-sustaining system

    That looks very nice...say I have a question I looking to get a plant for my 40 gallon tank but I have no idea what to get. I'm looking into plants that can by kept floating and was wondering if you had any in mind. Any that are easy and won't takeover my tank.

    • @RaccoonCreekAquatics
      @RaccoonCreekAquatics  6 лет назад

      Water wisteria and pennywort would be great easy stem plants that can be grown both floating and in the substrate. Plants like anubias and Java fern are also easy plants that can feed through the water column. You can mount anubias and Java fern to driftwood or rocks

      Raccoon Creek Aquatics thanks I've been looking at those exact plants for a while, but wasn't sure it they would do well with betta fish

    Dear Jake:
    Do you scrape the glass? If so, what do you use?
    This sure looks terrific!
    All my best,
    Brinegar

    • @RaccoonCreekAquatics
      @RaccoonCreekAquatics  6 лет назад +1

      Thank you!! I have never needed to scrape or wipe algae off the glass. I credit that to the snail I have residing in the jar. I do wipe the glass near where the water line normally is every water change.

    Beautiful jar and nice video.
    Just one other comment -- While I agree that making something aesthetically pleasing for your wife will assist in having her possibly support your hobby, you'd have to be married first. I'm sure you didn't intend to exclude every single male or straight female but you kinda did. :P
