I bought one earlier this year. Very impressed with it, built like a tank, gorgeous to look at, and versatile, excellent '60s pick ups. Nothing sounds like a good old fashioned P-bass, it's my go to ax.
I have this bass and love it, put LaBella’s on it! Price is steep, but love that Sweetwater (and others) allow monthly payments. I got mine at about $60 per month.
I've tried one of these, and it played awesome, and sounds fantastic, but the very lightweight swamp ash body paired with the massive maple neck and vintage tuners meant it didn't balance very well at all. Works ok if you're playing sitting down most of the time, but I would never use it live.
That’s definitely a sweet looking bass and also has that undeniable tone!!!! Ps. your bass playing isn’t to shabby also, just kidding you’re a gifted awesome musician!!!
@@iamLexxKelsey it's worth 2 grand if you still love it in 10 years, if not it's not gonna lose any value. You won't get rich of an investment like this but there's something to be said for getting to play a great axe for a while and not losing money on the deal - sort of like renting it for free. That being said, ya gotta have the 2k to float first. There's the rub lol for me at least
Beautiful, just beautiful. But I’d have to have a stack of money laying around that I truly had no other use for. I just cannot justify a bass this expensive with my limited playing skills. I went crazy(for me anyway)and bought a brand new Player series Precision recently, and I’m very happy with it and I hope it will stay with me forever. Tbh I’m also just as happy with my squier jazz bass, I just wanted to have both a p and j. The only thing I’m GASsing for is one of those harley benton 50’s p basses, and I blame that entirely on you Bully!
Gotta love honeyburst. Everyone loves honeyburst. But I feel weird holding it. I got my first honeyburst a little while ago...it's very distracting when I'm holding it lol maybe that's the problem. After I acclimatize to it the connection should start flowing the good energy. It needs some TLC, but don't they all. The question is: are you ready to step up to the commitment presented to you when the instrument is ALWAYS ready to play and do so WELL? If I lost all my arts and crafts projects, I'd definitely have to spend some of that time practicing. ;-) There are a couple stages of instrument rehabilitation...there's don't work, works, and works well. Everything I have is the first two lol and someday I hope push a bunch of them into the third category. BUT being a technician by trade I also know what that means - when your tools are working, then you get to work at max hardness, so there is consideration involved in what happens AFTER an instrument is rehabilitated, and the responsibility assumed by owning not just a functional tool but one that *performs* brilliantly and lends clarity and refinement in expression to your musical ideas instead of another demonstration of man's inhumanity to man, or as we've found out, man's inhumanity to self. Be well. My honest opinion after seeing your face is that you should pick three basses to cut loose and use the funds to acquire that one. The problem is that you can go find another 75th ann. bass but it won't be *that* 75th ann. bass you already played and sprouted a yearning for.
The Squier basses have a shitty finish on them. If you ding one, you'll see the flakes fall and notice how bad they are. The sound is so so, but they are OK for beginners who don't have a lot of dosh to spend. I would not waste time & money on trying to upgrade them. Just get a MIM bass and the quality jump will instantly be obvious.
That seems like a pretty decent bass. Good, wide tone control, action is decent, trim amenities is nice, finish work decent. Did you notice the pickups were a little tilted? Do you have a discord channel?
yes i did notice that. i believe its so the mid range is more present and to conture to the fretboard. i do have a discord but i havent launched it yet
When you open the Discord. I'll be one of the first to join. I also had a question for you and was wondering if you'd be interested in doing a review of a bass I just sent to Lobster. It's a very "one of a kind" bass. Lobster has a photo of it. I've posted it in his channel. It's an RKS. It's the most expensively produced bass in the world. Since it was out taking a "review" tour. I was just curious if you'd be interested.
Many P Basses are set up with tilted pickups. It helps balance the volume between the strings, since (as Bully said) the radius of the fingerboard necessitates a contour to the string height set at the saddles. If you pick up one of these and it seems like it's tilted too much (like a string is too loud or quiet, for example), it only takes a moment with a screw driver to adjust it to your preference.
Bro. I always wanna play the super nice guitars at guitar center but i feel bad asking them to get down a $2000 bass knowing damn well i cant buy that sucker lol
@@TheGAMEGod_YT If I had a music store I'd flow people like 10 bucks an hour just to come in and (gently) demo the instruments. Nothing gets your GAS going like walking into a store and hearing a couple really good players fiddling on stuff around the floor. Literally everyone will go check the booths if there's a BOOM goin on, so honestly making your store dude pull down the bass might get them a commission if the right person walks by when the right person is playing it. And the fact that he said "hell the next guy will" only shows again that he had an eye and it was on point - if people didn't have crap like medical bills and shoes for the kids, I'd have new stuff instead of what I've got. I'm not ungrateful but I can appreciate that if I found an instrument that compelled or even tempted me to unload several of the ones I have just to fund ONE instrument. For example, I'd probably have to sell at least 5 pieces of my "junk" to come even close to getting an MTD, much less Pedulla. There are some of these channels that are pushing so much content from guitar stores of them just checking/trying stuff out that I'd like to think that occasionally they get to keep one if they really really like it. That would be a sweet side hustle for sure...
I played a 60th anniversary edition P Bass a while ago and loved it. Wish Fender would make them all this nice.

my head was boppin when you went into that anderson paak bassline!
What a great work of art, it's great and it also sounds great !!

Great video! Love the P bass! I got one in Olympic White. Thanks for sharing.
Great demo, appreciate your using the different styles and playing around with the tone control.

its nice. i have the American ultra pj
Yessir, a week or so ago. I tested out the fender plus series PJ, it wascheaper than this but both pack a punch. Nice playing.
I want a elite J or ultra J that sure is a. Beauty for sure!!
That's a really nice classic Mo-Town sound!
this is gonna be a huge collectors item one day. i mean , it looks gorgeous.

It’s a beautiful Bass and great feeling too but it’s not worth 2 grand
I wonder how it will hold up in 50years like the basses from the 60s that's now for sale for big💰 might be a good investment 🤔

In name only.
I’d pay the 2k but my issue is I’m such a damn sucker for stingray basses I’d just buy another one lmao
I agree l paid less than that for my 78' which is a beast and with more than l paid
I like it except for the gold hardware, I own a Rarities Jazz bass I got for the same price, I love it!
Allen! Get away while you can! Don't reach for that credit card! You can do it! 😁

Bully what if I put a custom shop pup in a squier P bass wouldn't the sound be close?
yeah in theory, But quality of materials might still be an issure
Capacitors, Pot values... Neck feel.

Is it me or high quality p bass sounds way more versatile then a low end p bass ....my cheap ps sound life less compared to this one
Facts homie!
Sweet Bass ask them can I put a Lil something down on it an do $ 100 a month 🤣🤣🤣
It’s a pretty bass but that price tag is 💰💰!
This bass is really nice totally slapable too a little expensive but I'd save my dollars for it
