Temur ascendancy combined with garruks uprising is such a good combo. Hastey dragon bois with trample and a lot of "when a dragon attacks..." abilities is insane. And you're also drawing 2 for every dragon you cast.
I love how you say the discounted mana costs. The Ur dragon is basically like playing a dragon deck with a free mana rock advantage before the game even starts. Eminence is OP

I personally would replace arcane signet with chromatic lantern may cost one more but gets rid of any problem of not having a specific color especially in early game and unable to get those treasures just yet other than that looks amazing and quite powerful
Thanks for viewing and the feedback on the deck! I like Chromatic Lantern I just feel with my current land base I don’t require it’s fixing. Most of the time here it becomes just a 3 mana rock. Now if a deck didn’t have a perfect land base this would slot nicely. I have looked at The World Tree. I think the ability on a land ups the playability.

Loving how thorough you're being with the Ur-dragon tech, stands out from other YT content-machines deck teching lists they've never built or played ! I'd love to see you cover other high-power dragon decks outside of 5 colors & ur-dragon. I've been brewing with Ganax in the zone and was pleasantly surprised by the velocity he provides. A lot of backgrounds enhance or incentivize zone changes (see candlekeep sage, far traveler or my go-to haunted one) So they can really break your red staples like Scourge, Lathliss, Terror of the Peaks, etc. I think these combos can fly under the radar and rely less on combat, check it out :)

I'd love to see how Karrthus looks in 2022! Curious how green ramp and self-mill fairs with big black reanimation like patriarch's bidding, living death etc. I think we've gotten enough support from dragonborn champion, klauth, hellkite courser granting haste, etc. To make these plays an actual one turn table kill through raw damage, which sounds rad!
@@IDraken1221 Have you taken a look at some of the Dominaria cards for this deck yet? I was looking at two headed hellkite, Rivaz of the claw, Rith liberated primeval and timeless lotus. Iffy about to lotus but I figured there is enough cards in the deck to take advantage of wubrg.

@@trainsworth could be cool if you went real hard for the WUBRG casting strat. Include like Ramos, Jodah, and Fist of Suns. Toss in a bloom tender and Faeburrow elder with some of the new Multi color pay off from the recent set. Then, you have a pretty solid deck lol
I really like Scaled Nurturer! The fact it's not a "dead card" in late game due to it triggering all the Dragon synergies (like Dragon Tempest, Scourge of Valkas, Lathliss, Kindred Discovery, you even get a treasure with Ganax out!) 14:3542:44 Ayy that's me!
51:55 also don't forget the before mentioned Hellkite Courser! The second Courser obviously does pretty much nothing but bringing in The Ur-Dragon and making a Copy Token of it that is allowed to stick around at end step? YES PLEASE!

I was able to try out this deck yesterday and overall, I was really impressed but I didn't care for Renari or Thrakkus. Also, because the deck is quite strong, especially when I was able to resolve Gnawbone, I was a threat to everyone on the board, I feel like I need to adjust the land choices so that I take less self damage.

Unfortunately with the lands it kind of comes with the territory of 5 color unless you have original Dual Lands. Wow ur dragon slaps!! Played a game where I had 10 dragons out and the last player had 0 creatures out. I told him I would give him 5 rounds before I attacked. On the 5th round he swung and I absorbed almost all of it except for 10 hp. I used sarkhan ultimate and it was over. Dragon tribal is so fun especially with all these high power cards.
@@IDraken1221 Scary if somebody can lock it out with your shot exiled though. ALSO, Probably mad clunky without tutors I feel like I would never want to see gorger without the right set up.
Rivaz of the claw works really well with scion. Use scions ability and then the next turn you can use rivaz ability to bring that dragon back from the graveyard!
As someone who had the deck since it’s released and updated the deck to be current with the new dragons. I’m amazed to sse how you have optimized it, finding place to a lot of 4-5 mana dragon. Caring fore the curve instead of being greedy and only playing super heavy dragons believing you always gonna have ur dragon trigger to have tour back is wise! Mana ramping, speacially below 2 mana is another game changing. 3 question’s: 1- what strategy seemed to be the most powerful the treasure focused or the current list on moxfield? 2 - what changes would you make to the deck if I didn’t have acess to mana crypt, lotus, demonic, vampiric, wordly tutor and enlightened tutor? 3 - why did you cut balefire?
Thanks a lot for the overwhelming and positive feedback! As for you questions 1- I feel the treasure version was a bit more powerful. I’m just trying to test all these new cards atm lol. I even went as far as to include Rain of Riches for additional power plays 2- As far as crypt and lotus. You can play really anything in those slots as I have a high ramp count. If you want to keep ratios the same I’d slot in a farseek and maybe a fellwar stone or possibly another mana dork. Could be Bloom Tender or anything that makes a treasure like Galazeth Prismari If you don’t have these I’d also cut Urza Saga for another land. Can be anything but maybe a Bala Ged Recovery . As for the tutors it’s not exciting. I’d fill them in with other redundancy cards and recursion if possible. Things that can help you in the grinds game. You can also slot in some other really good utility cards. Finale of Devastation, Defense of the Heart, Mystic Remora, Lightning Greaves, Obsidian Charmaw, Scion of Draco etc. Can even cut one or 2 for a splashy spell like Selvala’ Stampede or Majestic Genesis. 3- As for Balefire, I feel as if I already have enough board wipes. In addition he only hits one player at a time where as something’s like Silimgar can hit multiple. Just a preference
So I recently finished my Ur-dragon deck and along with the play testing and of course the meta in my play group I’ve found lozan dragons legacy to be very impactful on the game it is a worse terror of the peaks as it’s not triggering on tokens and it only triggers on cast and like you said the 4 mana slot just has so much competition , I’m also very high on scale lord reckoner
I agree with a lot you said here. I am going to try and a lot in Scalelord. I was looking for more “stand alone” dragons that can function independently, that’s why I omitted Lozhan
@@IDraken1221 i really like your take on the deck I tried to get mine as close to yours as possible,it’s really nice to high power dragon decks as many don’t believe that they can compete on high power level table however nothing like swinging giant sky lizards for face damage most of the time
I’m a big fan of the hierarchs in my ur dragon deck just because they are still dorks that can tap for multiple colors and can give u some bonus damage in the early game since ur typically not casting multiple dragons in the start of the game

Have you tried any of the extra combat cards like Aggravated Assault as mana sinks because of all the treasures we can create? I imagine at real high power tables the answer is it is win-more or a 5 mana do nothing (plus activation), but in creature heavy metas I have found it pretty powerful to take extra combats.

I've also got a few questions regarding your version: • I understand your inclusion of Scaled Nurturer (I'm trying to include it in my version) but why there are not present Noble and Ignoble Hierarchs? Especially the latter since it provides 2 of the most crucial colors for the deck to work. • Since you have 24 creatures in your deck (not counting Commander and possible tokens) why don't you run Garruk's Uprising? • Have you considered adding Selvala, Heart of the Wilds as another ramp option? Most of the time it would trade 1 green mana for 4-7 of ANY color combination desired • Have you tried using Glorybringer as an on-theme removal option? • What's your experience with (and with current build without) using FRF's Kolaghan and Dromoka? Thanks for the feedback and stopping by! These are great questions. As for the Hierarchs. I believe with such a high budget there’s a bit of a totem pole of spells and mana dorks. These 2 fell below the threshold in terms of what’s offered. For example Birds makes any color and Deathrite has great utility. Plus lots of the other ramp spells in the deck outclass these due to the above reason. Now if you change the direction or budget or even sun out some cards. The Hierarchs would perform well. Garruks Uprising - this cards is solid and great overall. With that said being in 5 colors we can play all the best card draw that sticks. So things like Kindred Discovery and Rhystic Study fill in first. I also like to balance static card draw and some burst card draw making some spots tough. Selvala - this does make a ton of mana but with the treasure generation here I don’t feel it’s super needed. Plus it being 3 mana value really falls awkward on the curve. I would play Bloom Tender first Glory Bringer - I have not yet! I will give it a shot though! Dromoka just doesn’t fit into the game plan enough and some cards do the boosting better but if you’re looking for more dragons to fit in the 4 value curve I can see it being included FRF Kolghan - I cut this and do miss it from time to time because it creates swingy plays. Trying to fit it back in. If you want to play this you can cut any dragon from my list you don’t want to play Those are just my thoughts! With that play any cards you like just because you want to! Hopefully this helped!
@@IDraken1221 Oh, I see. Thanks for feedback :) I personally prefer Hierarch over Deathrite Shaman but that might come down to meta. Also Birds of Paradise has synergy with Dragon Tempest - granting it haste. Next, RE: card draw, I use Night's Whisper and Chart a Course for burst and Sylvan Library, Rhystic Study, Garruk's Uprising and Temur Ascendancy for static. Also due to the amount of fetchlands I use Brainstorm for card velocity and increased card quality. However, I'm on the fringe of using Faithless Looting - I guess this is not a deck for it and I might finally find a place for Two-Headed Hellkite. And finally about FRF Dragons: I think I'd miss Dromoka because her pump ability stole me a few wins. Same thing with Kolaghan as these ladies work very similar to one another. @@IDraken1221can’t wait to see this. I have a love for dragons ever since I was a baby😂 my friend introduced me to this game a few months ago and I new immediately I wanted a dragon deck. So I ended up buying the Secret Lair Ur dragon since he told me it was the best dragon commander, and if it’s the best, only deserving I get the best art :). But as I dont know much about the game I made poor choices in obtaining cards😂 so I’ve just been researching and researching supporting cards and deck lists to see which ones I like and gather as much information as possible. Trying to compile everyone’s ideas and see which cards are used the most throughout. I absolutely loved this listing. Problem is definitely how much it costs, and my friend did warn me dragon decks especially tribal were quite expensive especially if your trying to make it decent and even more so good/great. But definitely something I want to obtain over the next coming months. But I also would like to wait as I know you’ve said there’s things you would change and on this thread you said you updated it. So I would really like to see these changes. Anyways I’ve ranted on long enough, amazing video my friend I hope to see much more. Earned a sub and like.
What do you think about Sivitri, Dragon master ? From Dominaria United. Seems like a good stax / tutor even though there are so many tutors to begin with.
I think it’s a neat card and def could have some cool playability. It def belongs in its own deck. It doesn’t really offer a ton for Ur Dragon. That said a blue black staxy or pillow fort deck with some dragons could be a ton of fun

Also how come you didnt choose - balefire dragon, Beledros witherbloom Urza incubator The goblin that reduces dragons cost by 2 Hellkite charger ( i assume the mana cost is to steep), not worth it with the combo potential with old gnaw bone etc ? -fiery emancipation
I would def try to slot in Rivaz the fact that it can give ramp give you some recursion will help. The downside is it’s not a dragon so it will just slot in as another dork As for omissions a lot of it boils down to having a high high budget and being able to just play the best cards in all 5 colors. Balefire - I cut down on overall board wipes so I only had room for the top 2 in slot. I also would prefer Silumgar as it can get around indestructible if I need a in Dragon slot board wipe. Beledros- this really just boils down to not needing it. I have Gnawbone and Copper which I prefer due to treasure synergies. Now if you don’t have Gnawbone or Copper. I would look to slot this in along with Klauth. Urza’s incubator - this one was tough. I really shy away from 3 mana ramp to begin with. Even though it gives a big discount on Dragons that’s only around 35% of all my spells. Instead I can slot in another ramp spell which would help cast 100% of my spells all the time. Really just comes down to overall consistency Hellkite Charger - not I’m just not a fan of having to pay to get the extra combats. Plus it’s a little slow. 5 to cast then another 7 for the ability is a lot. We can play cards that outright end the game for less. Dragonlord’s Servant - high budget and power just means I don’t have to go down this far for ramp spells. It is a solid card and I wouldn’t blame you for playing it Fiery Emancipation - This is one card I’m looking to slot in. With more testing will come with cuts making room. I’m looking to slot in this or Finale of Devastation. Or maybe both lol
@@cloudycalcifer7799 I forgot to touch base on Twin headed Helkite but its 100% going in here. Majestic Genesis just came out so it wasn’t in my last profile. But it’s on the list for big splashy spells to test along with Finale and the like.
@@IDraken1221 i've casted Majestic Genesis quite some times now and it was always hell coming loose, like, if you build your deck with almost only permanents it just means you get a minimum of 6+ permanents for 8CMC, including lands for other spells to play from hand. Will stay in my deck for sure.
Can I ask why you didn’t put any planeswalkers like sarkhon unbroken or some of the nico bolis’s or even oko thief of crowns cause that allows a lot of control and I ask because I myself am tryna optimize my ur dragon deck
Good question! Although thematically I enjoy Sarkhan, he costs too much for very little in terms of payoff. As far as others like Oko or Nicol Bolas, when going for high power most planes walkers make their way out due to lack of synergies. They are fine cards but usually you can get more value out of a dragon or a power spell. Hopefully this helps!
Enjoyed the deck tech finally I have a deck for my full art jeweled lotus. As I’m slowly building this deck I’m lacking key components although I love the list the life loss worries me some what especially cards like mana crypt and ancient tomb I’m wondering how many times you have natures claim your own mana crypt?
Thanks for the comment! I’m a firm believer life only matters when it hits zero. I have never natures claimed my own crypt. This deck will usually end the game before the life loss is relevant. You can always cut stinging study for your favorite swingy cards draw spell!
@@IDraken1221 appreciate the reply stinging study if I’m correct you pay 10 life to draw 10 cards. As I’m building the deck I’m lacking pretty much all the tutors I’m considering idyllic tutor and the three mana red spell search for dragon. Also with lands I’m missing I’m using basics so I can use for the time being so I can use kodama reach and cultivate. One card I’m looking at is the immortal sun it’s cost reduction extra draw and an anthem.
@@ashiy8310 don’t feel pressed to run any tutors at all! I also agree with basics being the way to go but do not shy away from some cheap good utility lands such as Bala Ged Recovery, Yavimaya, and other mdfc as well as more crowd lands and slow lands!
3 mana on the curve is a bit awkward for ramp. In addition it only discounts the dragons where as something like 3 visits casts every spell and fits nice in the curve

I haven’t put much thought into that. Looking at things I would probably cut something in the ramp or card draw package. There’s an abundance of those in there and Seal can grab that kind of stuff if needed
Hey! Instead of thrakkus the butcher, you can just put in Unnatural Growth. It's an enchantment so harder to kill and power/toughness double on EVERY combat, not just when you attack. 5 mana just like thrakkus. Just food for thought.

@@IDraken1221 So we have people running a lot of Enchantments and Artifacts. We got Stax players and Sythis players so I slotted in Aura of Silence and Hellkite Tyrant. We have Elf ball players and Token players so I slotted in Balefire Dragon. There is some stuff that I just put in just because 🤣 Like Morophon the Boundless and Fist of Suns so I just play all my dragons for free. I got all the tutors so I'm able to consistently get what I need for a situation. I also got Helm of the Host for infinite combat phases with Scourge of the Throne as well as Hellkite Charger paired up with Old Gnawbone. I threw in Aggravated Assault as well for redundancy. Just for giggles, I also have Rite of Replication for near-infinite damage with Scourge of Valkas or Terror of the Peaks 🤣 Finally, Worldgorger Dragon with Miirym, Sentinel Wurm (of course with Dragon Tempest on board or either Terror of the Peaks or Scourge of Valkas for infinite blink and ping).
Appreciate the comment! So in regards to the land I kinda count Urza’s Saga as a ramp spell some of the time. With that said I am looking to maybe cut a land especially if the curve stays this low. It’s crucial I open with at least 3 lands that why I keep it a bit higher.

Favorite Ur-Dragon deck I've encountered so far. I have questions! Imposing Grandeur is a bit like Stinging Study, though high CMC draw seems to be competitive in this deck. What are your thoughts? Realmwalker seems like a really good option with ten fetches and all of those tutors - have you considered it? Have you considered adding a single basic land for enemy Assassin's Trophies and such? Would it be worth it? Thoughts on Stubborn Denial vs Swan Song? Thoughts on Hellkite Charger vs Scourge of the Throne? No Dragonlord Kologhan surprised me, but after seeing your existing haste options I guess I can see why. Have you tried it before? Thoughts on Scalelord Reckoner vs Steely Resolve? Thoughts on Plaza of Heroes?
Hey! Thanks for stopping by! I like to answer these kinds of questions Imposing Grandeur - I contemplated this. I don’t really enjoy everyone drawing. More importantly this is a sorcery and Study is an instant. That’s where I feel the biggest difference is Realmwalker - it’s not bad but being in 5 color means you have access to the best draw spells in the game. That with the fact that this only hits 30ish percent of the time is why I omit it. If you play something a little different or more budget that’s where I would a lot this Assassins Trophy and basics - this rarely comes up but when it does it not too much of a feel bad. Stubborn Denial - they are interchangeable and both very effective. I think Swan song it just less conditional and can counter things all all stages of the game where as Stubborn needs some set up. Solid choice all the way though Hellkite Charger - even with things like Gnawbone I don’t like having to pay mana. You have to cast Hellkite then pay into it. It’s too much of an investment mana wise. Scourge costs literally nothing to activate. The only condition is to attack the highest life player. It’s basically a free extra combat Dragonlord Kologhan - this is nothing short than I have lots of haste in here plus tutors. Fine card but we’re are at peak performance here with the tutors so there was no room Scalelord Reckoner - I haven’t really thought of the comparison a ton. Steely being a 2 mana enchantment is in its own category. I would compare this more to the new Rith. Both have there moments. The double White and the aspect of choice kind of turn me off here. I guess the same could be said about Rith. I just find Ward to be a bit more efficient in high power, given mana optimization is important every turn. In addition if there’s nothing really threatening or important on that players board, Scaleords effect becomes much less powerful Plaza of heroes - honestly I really like this card and even tested for a while. Free protection in a muti colors land is great. I would tweak things ever so lightly to make this more live when producing mana though. This might make its way back in Hopefully this helps!
In a vacuum I agree with this solely based on mana value. Atarka being a dragon is a huge bonus though. The knight does save on mana, I might have to try this out!
@@IDraken1221 I agree with you that it is a bonus but that’s not worth 3 mana more in my opinion. And atarka only grants double strike if you attack. If you compare atarka with other dragons for 7/6 mana she is just not strong enough, imo so I ended up cutting her. BUT I am playing no fast mana and no tutors out of personal preference thus I end up with more than 30 dragons nevertheless :-)
Klauth is strong, but I already have Ancient Copper and Old Gnawbone in the higher end of the curve. There is just no room for 3 big rampy dragons. Now if you don’t have those Klauth would a lot I’m nicely
@@IDraken1221 i found running the zero rocks like crypt were actually hurting the deck more than helping it. When you go that fast you become target number one really quick and you need to conserve life as much as possible.

Temur ascendancy combined with garruks uprising is such a good combo. Hastey dragon bois with trample and a lot of "when a dragon attacks..." abilities is insane. And you're also drawing 2 for every dragon you cast.

I personally would replace arcane signet with chromatic lantern may cost one more but gets rid of any problem of not having a specific color especially in early game and unable to get those treasures just yet other than that looks amazing and quite powerful
Thanks for viewing and the feedback on the deck! I like Chromatic Lantern I just feel with my current land base I don’t require it’s fixing. Most of the time here it becomes just a 3 mana rock. Now if a deck didn’t have a perfect land base this would slot nicely. I have looked at The World Tree. I think the ability on a land ups the playability.

Loving how thorough you're being with the Ur-dragon tech, stands out from other YT content-machines deck teching lists they've never built or played ! I'd love to see you cover other high-power dragon decks outside of 5 colors & ur-dragon.
I've been brewing with Ganax in the zone and was pleasantly surprised by the velocity he provides. A lot of backgrounds enhance or incentivize zone changes (see candlekeep sage, far traveler or my go-to haunted one) So they can really break your red staples like Scourge, Lathliss, Terror of the Peaks, etc. I think these combos can fly under the radar and rely less on combat, check it out :)

I'd love to see how Karrthus looks in 2022! Curious how green ramp and self-mill fairs with big black reanimation like patriarch's bidding, living death etc. I think we've gotten enough support from dragonborn champion, klauth, hellkite courser granting haste, etc. To make these plays an actual one turn table kill through raw damage, which sounds rad!

@@IDraken1221 Have you taken a look at some of the Dominaria cards for this deck yet? I was looking at two headed hellkite, Rivaz of the claw, Rith liberated primeval and timeless lotus. Iffy about to lotus but I figured there is enough cards in the deck to take advantage of wubrg.

The fact it's not a "dead card" in late game due to it triggering all the Dragon synergies (like Dragon Tempest, Scourge of Valkas, Lathliss, Kindred Discovery, you even get a treasure with Ganax out!)

I was able to try out this deck yesterday and overall, I was really impressed but I didn't care for Renari or Thrakkus. Also, because the deck is quite strong, especially when I was able to resolve Gnawbone, I was a threat to everyone on the board, I feel like I need to adjust the land choices so that I take less self damage.

Unfortunately with the lands it kind of comes with the territory of 5 color unless you have original Dual Lands. I would highly recommend trying Domri, Anarch of Bolas as a Planeswalker. I run it in my Ur-Dragon deck and it does wonders.

Wow ur dragon slaps!! Played a game where I had 10 dragons out and the last player had 0 creatures out. I told him I would give him 5 rounds before I attacked. On the 5th round he swung and I absorbed almost all of it except for 10 hp. I used sarkhan ultimate and it was over. Dragon tribal is so fun especially with all these high power cards.

Rivaz of the claw works really well with scion. Use scions ability and then the next turn you can use rivaz ability to bring that dragon back from the graveyard!
I’ve been doing some testing with Rivaz. Some good and there’s been some clunky lines of play. Def good paired with Scion though!
As someone who had the deck since it’s released and updated the deck to be current with the new dragons. I’m amazed to sse how you have optimized it, finding place to a lot of 4-5 mana dragon.
Caring fore the curve instead of being greedy and only playing super heavy dragons believing you always gonna have ur dragon trigger to have tour back is wise!
Mana ramping, speacially below 2 mana is another game changing.

1- what strategy seemed to be the most powerful the treasure focused or the current list on moxfield?
2 - what changes would you make to the deck if I didn’t have acess to mana crypt, lotus, demonic, vampiric, wordly tutor and enlightened tutor?

1- I feel the treasure version was a bit more powerful. I’m just trying to test all these new cards atm lol. I even went as far as to include Rain of Riches for additional power plays
2- As far as crypt and lotus. You can play really anything in those slots as I have a high ramp count. If you want to keep ratios the same I’d slot in a farseek and maybe a fellwar stone or possibly another mana dork. Could be Bloom Tender or anything that makes a treasure like Galazeth Prismari If you don’t have these I’d also cut Urza Saga for another land. Can be anything but maybe a Bala Ged Recovery . As for the tutors it’s not exciting. I’d fill them in with other redundancy cards and recursion if possible. Things that can help you in the grinds game. You can also slot in some other really good utility cards. Finale of Devastation, Defense of the Heart, Mystic Remora, Lightning Greaves, Obsidian Charmaw, Scion of Draco etc. Can even cut one or 2 for a splashy spell like Selvala’ Stampede or Majestic Genesis.
3- As for Balefire, I feel as if I already have enough board wipes. In addition he only hits one player at a time where as something’s like Silimgar can hit multiple. Just a preference
So I recently finished my Ur-dragon deck and along with the play testing and of course the meta in my play group I’ve found lozan dragons legacy to be very impactful on the game it is a worse terror of the peaks as it’s not triggering on tokens and it only triggers on cast and like you said the 4 mana slot just has so much competition , I’m also very high on scale lord reckoner
I agree with a lot you said here. I am going to try and a lot in Scalelord. I was looking for more “stand alone” dragons that can function independently, that’s why I omitted Lozhan

I’m a big fan of the hierarchs in my ur dragon deck just because they are still dorks that can tap for multiple colors and can give u some bonus damage in the early game since ur typically not casting multiple dragons in the start of the game

Have you tried any of the extra combat cards like Aggravated Assault as mana sinks because of all the treasures we can create? I imagine at real high power tables the answer is it is win-more or a 5 mana do nothing (plus activation), but in creature heavy metas I have found it pretty powerful to take extra combats.

Hello! Amazing deck tech. I've also got a few questions regarding your version:
• I understand your inclusion of Scaled Nurturer (I'm trying to include it in my version) but why there are not present Noble and Ignoble Hierarchs? Especially the latter since it provides 2 of the most crucial colors for the deck to work.
• Since you have 24 creatures in your deck (not counting Commander and possible tokens) why don't you run Garruk's Uprising?
• Have you considered adding Selvala, Heart of the Wilds as another ramp option? Most of the time it would trade 1 green mana for 4-7 of ANY color combination desired
• Have you tried using Glorybringer as an on-theme removal option?
• What's your experience with (and with current build without) using FRF's Kolaghan and Dromoka?

Thanks for the feedback and stopping by! These are great questions.
As for the Hierarchs. I believe with such a high budget there’s a bit of a totem pole of spells and mana dorks. These 2 fell below the threshold in terms of what’s offered. For example Birds makes any color and Deathrite has great utility. Plus lots of the other ramp spells in the deck outclass these due to the above reason. Now if you change the direction or budget or even sun out some cards. The Hierarchs would perform well.
Garruks Uprising - this cards is solid and great overall. With that said being in 5 colors we can play all the best card draw that sticks. So things like Kindred Discovery and Rhystic Study fill in first. I also like to balance static card draw and some burst card draw making some spots tough.
Selvala - this does make a ton of mana but with the treasure generation here I don’t feel it’s super needed. Plus it being 3 mana value really falls awkward on the curve. I would play Bloom Tender first
Glory Bringer - I have not yet! I will give it a shot though!
Dromoka just doesn’t fit into the game plan enough and some cards do the boosting better but if you’re looking for more dragons to fit in the 4 value curve I can see it being included
FRF Kolghan - I cut this and do miss it from time to time because it creates swingy plays. Trying to fit it back in. If you want to play this you can cut any dragon from my list you don’t want to play
Those are just my thoughts! With that play any cards you like just because you want to! Hopefully this helped!

I personally prefer Hierarch over Deathrite Shaman but that might come down to meta. Also Birds of Paradise has synergy with Dragon Tempest - granting it haste.
Next, RE: card draw, I use Night's Whisper and Chart a Course for burst and Sylvan Library, Rhystic Study, Garruk's Uprising and Temur Ascendancy for static. Also due to the amount of fetchlands I use Brainstorm for card velocity and increased card quality. However, I'm on the fringe of using Faithless Looting - I guess this is not a deck for it and I might finally find a place for Two-Headed Hellkite.
And finally about FRF Dragons: I think I'd miss Dromoka because her pump ability stole me a few wins. Same thing with Kolaghan as these ladies work very similar to one another.

So I ended up buying the Secret Lair Ur dragon since he told me it was the best dragon commander, and if it’s the best, only deserving I get the best art :). But as I dont know much about the game I made poor choices in obtaining cards😂 so I’ve just been researching and researching supporting cards and deck lists to see which ones I like and gather as much information as possible. Trying to compile everyone’s ideas and see which cards are used the most throughout. I absolutely loved this listing. Problem is definitely how much it costs, and my friend did warn me dragon decks especially tribal were quite expensive especially if your trying to make it decent and even more so good/great. But definitely something I want to obtain over the next coming months. But I also would like to wait as I know you’ve said there’s things you would change and on this thread you said you updated it. So I would really like to see these changes. Anyways I’ve ranted on long enough, amazing video my friend I hope to see much more. Earned a sub and like.

This deck with the variants is about 2500 but honestly you can make a really good deck for a few hundred still!
What do you think about Sivitri, Dragon master ? From Dominaria United. Seems like a good stax / tutor even though there are so many tutors to begin with.
I think it’s a neat card and def could have some cool playability. It def belongs in its own deck. It doesn’t really offer a ton for Ur Dragon. That said a blue black staxy or pillow fort deck with some dragons could be a ton of fun

I would def try to slot in Rivaz the fact that it can give ramp give you some recursion will help. The downside is it’s not a dragon so it will just slot in as another dork
As for omissions a lot of it boils down to having a high high budget and being able to just play the best cards in all 5 colors.
Balefire - I cut down on overall board wipes so I only had room for the top 2 in slot. I also would prefer Silumgar as it can get around indestructible if I need a in Dragon slot board wipe.
Beledros- this really just boils down to not needing it. I have Gnawbone and Copper which I prefer due to treasure synergies. Now if you don’t have Gnawbone or Copper. I would look to slot this in along with Klauth.
Urza’s incubator - this one was tough. I really shy away from 3 mana ramp to begin with. Even though it gives a big discount on Dragons that’s only around 35% of all my spells. Instead I can slot in another ramp spell which would help cast 100% of my spells all the time. Really just comes down to overall consistency
Hellkite Charger - not I’m just not a fan of having to pay to get the extra combats. Plus it’s a little slow. 5 to cast then another 7 for the ability is a lot. We can play cards that outright end the game for less.
Dragonlord’s Servant - high budget and power just means I don’t have to go down this far for ramp spells. It is a solid card and I wouldn’t blame you for playing it
Fiery Emancipation - This is one card I’m looking to slot in. With more testing will come with cuts making room. I’m looking to slot in this or Finale of Devastation. Or maybe both lol

@@cloudycalcifer7799 I forgot to touch base on Twin headed Helkite but its 100% going in here. Majestic Genesis just came out so it wasn’t in my last profile. But it’s on the list for big splashy spells to test along with Finale and the like.
@@IDraken1221 i've casted Majestic Genesis quite some times now and it was always hell coming loose, like, if you build your deck with almost only permanents it just means you get a minimum of 6+ permanents for 8CMC, including lands for other spells to play from hand. Will stay in my deck for sure.

Can I ask why you didn’t put any planeswalkers like sarkhon unbroken or some of the nico bolis’s or even oko thief of crowns cause that allows a lot of control and I ask because I myself am tryna optimize my ur dragon deck
Good question! Although thematically I enjoy Sarkhan, he costs too much for very little in terms of payoff. As far as others like Oko or Nicol Bolas, when going for high power most planes walkers make their way out due to lack of synergies. They are fine cards but usually you can get more value out of a dragon or a power spell. Hopefully this helps!

Enjoyed the deck tech finally I have a deck for my full art jeweled lotus. As I’m slowly building this deck I’m lacking key components although I love the list the life loss worries me some what especially cards like mana crypt and ancient tomb I’m wondering how many times you have natures claim your own mana crypt?
Thanks for the comment! I’m a firm believer life only matters when it hits zero. I have never natures claimed my own crypt. This deck will usually end the game before the life loss is relevant. You can always cut stinging study for your favorite swingy cards draw spell!

As I’m building the deck I’m lacking pretty much all the tutors I’m considering idyllic tutor and the three mana red spell search for dragon. Also with lands I’m missing I’m using basics so I can use for the time being so I can use kodama reach and cultivate. One card I’m looking at is the immortal sun it’s cost reduction extra draw and an anthem.
@@ashiy8310 don’t feel pressed to run any tutors at all! I also agree with basics being the way to go but do not shy away from some cheap good utility lands such as Bala Ged Recovery, Yavimaya, and other mdfc as well as more crowd lands and slow lands!

3 mana on the curve is a bit awkward for ramp. In addition it only discounts the dragons where as something like 3 visits casts every spell and fits nice in the curve

None atm due to price. They are marginally better than the shocks. But with the market taking a dive I might scoop up a set!

I don’t play those due to not have really any counter synergies. Those are great cards but no additional value here. So I opt for more synergies.

I haven’t put much thought into that. Looking at things I would probably cut something in the ramp or card draw package. There’s an abundance of those in there and Seal can grab that kind of stuff if needed
Hey! Instead of thrakkus the butcher, you can just put in Unnatural Growth. It's an enchantment so harder to kill and power/toughness double on EVERY combat, not just when you attack. 5 mana just like thrakkus. Just food for thought.
Yeah, I was playing Thrakkus due to him heing a dragon. I wasn’t super impressed so I ended up cutting him anyway lol

@@IDraken1221 So we have people running a lot of Enchantments and Artifacts. We got Stax players and Sythis players so I slotted in Aura of Silence and Hellkite Tyrant. We have Elf ball players and Token players so I slotted in Balefire Dragon.
There is some stuff that I just put in just because 🤣 Like Morophon the Boundless and Fist of Suns so I just play all my dragons for free. I got all the tutors so I'm able to consistently get what I need for a situation.
I also got Helm of the Host for infinite combat phases with Scourge of the Throne as well as Hellkite Charger paired up with Old Gnawbone. I threw in Aggravated Assault as well for redundancy.
Just for giggles, I also have Rite of Replication for near-infinite damage with Scourge of Valkas or Terror of the Peaks 🤣
Finally, Worldgorger Dragon with Miirym, Sentinel Wurm (of course with Dragon Tempest on board or either Terror of the Peaks or Scourge of Valkas for infinite blink and ping).

Appreciate the comment! So in regards to the land I kinda count Urza’s Saga as a ramp spell some of the time. With that said I am looking to maybe cut a land especially if the curve stays this low. It’s crucial I open with at least 3 lands that why I keep it a bit higher.

Imposing Grandeur is a bit like Stinging Study, though high CMC draw seems to be competitive in this deck. What are your thoughts?

Hey! Thanks for stopping by! I like to answer these kinds of questions
Imposing Grandeur - I contemplated this. I don’t really enjoy everyone drawing. More importantly this is a sorcery and Study is an instant. That’s where I feel the biggest difference is
Realmwalker - it’s not bad but being in 5 color means you have access to the best draw spells in the game. That with the fact that this only hits 30ish percent of the time is why I omit it. If you play something a little different or more budget that’s where I would a lot this
Assassins Trophy and basics - this rarely comes up but when it does it not too much of a feel bad.
Stubborn Denial - they are interchangeable and both very effective. I think Swan song it just less conditional and can counter things all all stages of the game where as Stubborn needs some set up. Solid choice all the way though
Hellkite Charger - even with things like Gnawbone I don’t like having to pay mana. You have to cast Hellkite then pay into it. It’s too much of an investment mana wise. Scourge costs literally nothing to activate. The only condition is to attack the highest life player. It’s basically a free extra combat
Dragonlord Kologhan - this is nothing short than I have lots of haste in here plus tutors. Fine card but we’re are at peak performance here with the tutors so there was no room
Scalelord Reckoner - I haven’t really thought of the comparison a ton. Steely being a 2 mana enchantment is in its own category. I would compare this more to the new Rith. Both have there moments. The double White and the aspect of choice kind of turn me off here. I guess the same could be said about Rith. I just find Ward to be a bit more efficient in high power, given mana optimization is important every turn. In addition if there’s nothing really threatening or important on that players board, Scaleords effect becomes much less powerful
Plaza of heroes - honestly I really like this card and even tested for a while. Free protection in a muti colors land is great. I would tweak things ever so lightly to make this more live when producing mana though. This might make its way back in

I think the double strike knight is better than atarka
In a vacuum I agree with this solely based on mana value. Atarka being a dragon is a huge bonus though. The knight does save on mana, I might have to try this out!
@@IDraken1221 I agree with you that it is a bonus but that’s not worth 3 mana more in my opinion. And atarka only grants double strike if you attack. If you compare atarka with other dragons for 7/6 mana she is just not strong enough, imo so I ended up cutting her. BUT I am playing no fast mana and no tutors out of personal preference thus I end up with more than 30 dragons nevertheless :-)

Add Klauth
Klauth is strong, but I already have Ancient Copper and Old Gnawbone in the higher end of the curve. There is just no room for 3 big rampy dragons. Now if you don’t have those Klauth would a lot I’m nicely

@@IDraken1221 i found running the zero rocks like crypt were actually hurting the deck more than helping it. When you go that fast you become target number one really quick and you need to conserve life as much as possible.
