Brilliant series, it had an atmosphere and spirit none of the later takes on the legend have been able to match. When I saw it again, years later when it came out on DVD, it still worked perfectly.
Ooh! The HTV jingle still makes my heart race because it meant 50 minutes of lovely Michael Praed, Clive Mantle and the gang. Music by Clannad and just the best adventure series ever. Why don't they make shows like this any more? Thanks for posting this.
Yep Claire you're right this was the best version of the story done on TV..they couldn't do it now I think..the atmosphere was of that time. And they can't capture it now or ever again sadly 😞

OMG - this series was awesome. Reminds me of warm summer days of youth and got me interested in all things medieval. The best Robin Hood series ever put together
The film sequence is both marvellous and hilarious. I was brought up on the edge of the Greenwood by family and learned to handle the bow as a small boy, but the training is harsh and lasts for years. It's easy to laugh at the beautiful Judi Trott, but she only had weeks of training at the hands of a professional sports bowman to handle a common bow against decades taken by those who won our great victories at Agincourt, Crecy and Poitiers. If I took up a bow today, I would struggle to make a good mark because of the time I lost in muscle training during the last thirty years. Still, the telly series "Robin of Sherwood" was a historical delight to me as a young lad, and it pleases me well that there are those of you around the world who love it still, thirty years after it ended. Good on you all.
Loved this! My favourite programme ever and to get a glimpse of what was going on behind the scenes was great. Have never heard one of the actors say anything but good things about their time on the show, they seemed to have a lot of fun, despite the mud and the cold!

Love the horse pushing Judi into Michael 😅 He must have been shipping them!
Great show, glad ITV4 is rerunning it every morning and afternoon, I go to Sherwood forest at least 3 times a week to metal detect in search of anything related to this era, who knows may be I'll find the silver arrow 🏹🤞🏻

Think Mike Davey (sound engineer) on last shot on right behind the bloke? Bob Edwards was Lighting Cameraman on some of the shows along with Brian Morgan. Camera operators were..... Brian, Roger Pearce and think David Hillier might hv done the odd one too. Great film crew all shot on 16mm. Those were the days.
william wallace and robin hood went to the pub and although they were drunk and only got drunker as they returned homme after there night out in the borders william wallace got on the wrong train to euston london and robin hood ended up in far north of scotland, but when they tried to get back to there proper homes the train inspecter refused there entrance and stated THATS IT YOU STAY CAUSE ITS ONLY A ONE WAY TICKET AND YOU DID NOT BUY RETURN
