Pastor Tony is confused on the names here, but he does have some what of a point here. The given name for the Messiah is Yeshua. There is no j sound in Hebrew so all the words with a j sound are the English pronunciations. Yeshua in Greek (which also do not have J in the language) was pronounced Iesous (eeyaysoos), which is ok. Different languages pronounce names differently, and God understands all languages. The part that I agree with here is that some have taken Jesus and made Him different from his original character and look (the Bible does give enough clues for an artist to more accurately depict Christ if they wanted to), so have ultimately made him a different person altogether. This "new Jesus" so to speak is ok with everything a person decides to do with their lives and will still give you a pass no matter what, but the truth is that this is not the Jesus (or Yeshua if you prefer) of the bible. According to the Bible Though He loves us all He will not accept all not even those who have prophesied and cast out demons in His name. Jesus of the Bible did not turn His back on the 1rst covenant (Old Testament) or the Commandments, because the Old Testament was a foreshadowing of His coming and His life was a fulfilling of the commandments to our salvation. Pastor Tony is confused on the names here, but he does have some what of a point here. The given name for the Messiah is Yeshua. There is no j sound in Hebrew so all the words with a j sound are the English pronunciations. Yeshua in Greek (which also do not have J in the language) was pronounced Iesous (eeyaysoos), which is ok. Different languages pronounce names differently, and God understands all languages. The part that I agree with here is that some have taken Jesus and made Him different from his original character and look (the Bible does give enough clues for an artist to more accurately depict Christ if they wanted to), so have ultimately made him a different person altogether.
This "new Jesus" so to speak is ok with everything a person decides to do with their lives and will still give you a pass no matter what, but the truth is that this is not the Jesus (or Yeshua if you prefer) of the bible. According to the Bible Though He loves us all He will not accept all not even those who have prophesied and cast out demons in His name. Jesus of the Bible did not turn His back on the 1rst covenant (Old Testament) or the Commandments, because the Old Testament was a foreshadowing of His coming and His life was a fulfilling of the commandments to our salvation.
While Jesus did go out among sinners and ate with them and loved them, He did not condone their sin but told them to depart from their wickedness and become reborn as a new person who walks in the light of truth and love unto eternal life. Now theres a lot of church folks who think "well i believe that so i'm saved and free to commit all the sin i want", but that isn't the case. Jesus said you must love the Father and if you love me (Jesus) you would keep my Fathers commandments. There is a list of people given in the Bible that will not be allowed to enter into YHWH's kingdom simply put. That is why Jesus said there will be those who say Lord, Lord... and His reply to them will be "Depart from me child of disobedience, I never knew you.
