    Great adventure, Bill. Little Mike did great and wrestling with a big catfish was quite the tug of war! Love that creek, too. The smallies and rock bass (goggle eyes in these parts) were a nice bonus. All the best and have a great week, Don

    Mike Jr. came out to catch the big ones. I think he is ready for a rod and reel upgrade, at least a spinning reel, that will make things easier for him. Awesome day out there.

    Nice kitties! Put the little guy on a normal spinning reel...when my 2 sons were that young they had a much easier time using a fairly standard spinning rod/reel combo. Those click-button casting reels are great for crappie and sunfish, but anything larger than that can be a challenge. It took some time for my sons to cast properly but I used to let them go in the back yard and throw rubber casting plugs around. They got the hang of it pretty quick!

      going to try to get him on spinning gear but he's still getting the hang of the zebco - maybe next year when he turns 6

    Wish we had decent catfish water around me but we really dont. Watching a kid fighting a big fish on one of those combos is stressful lol you can see why its your dad and grandads that teach you how to fish. All the time my daid spent untangling my messes...he got his revenge. Only 52 but his eyesight sucks so i always get cold hands tying his knots on the steelhead creek...after watching him cuss for ten minutes trying and failing.

    Hay Mike are you using circle hooks on those fish

    • @BillMikesAnglingAdventures
      @BillMikesAnglingAdventures  3 месяца назад

      i mainly use khale hooks or wide bend hooks for cats on slip floats - a lot of the time they drop the bait before a circle hook would hook them
