    Hope y'all do a video on the dehydrator function too. I'd love to hear y'alls opinion on it. Thanks for another delightful video :)

    NIce presentation Lizzie and Melanie...I would have liked to see you cut the fries(what kind of potato did you use?) Nice to know there wasn't much
    difference for those who don't want to use oil, etc. I so not use soy but look forward to all your other recipes. :) I think because the
    basket gets so hot (so I"ve heard)- I'd keep mentioning the need to use gloves or towel - as you did. Thanks you two !

      Congrats! These were fresh cut. you can also use frozen fries too. Subtract around 25º from the package directions and cut the time by about 1/3 and watch them. Good luck!

    Every picture I see, even in the manual, shows the basket going in the same way yo,u did it, with the end that opens to the user's left. The first time I used it I thought it was pretty dumb for IP to have the locking part the wrong way and allow the lid to loosen while turning. It turns out, the open end goes the other way. If you look at the box or any picture of of the unit online, this shows this. Also, the manual states when using the spit or basket, you're supposed to place the food in the unit before preheating. Hope this helps.

      @@yourcolorfulplate1263 I have to say, their manuals are horrible. I bought the Duo 6 qt pressure cooker 2 yrs ago and they didn't even put a slip of paper with it mentioning they changed the button names for the v-3.

      @@yourcolorfulplate1263 When I bought my Duo, the creator was on tv that morning while I was waiting for the Black Friday sale to start. He said he reads all comments and tried to better the products from them. I do believe that's why some newer pressure cookers have self-closing vents, but MANY complain about the manuals and they never get any better.

    Another great video ladies. Thank you 🙏 We can't get Instant Vortex Plus in Australia nor Instant Pot. However, we do have alternative air fryers and pressure cookers by Phillips etc. What is your opinion on making fries in air fryer compare to this new appliance if you have used an air fryer before? I've bought an air fryer from Aldi before n am thinking of upgrading to a branded air fryer in hoping that I would get a better result as I haven't had much success with my Aldi air fryer when making fries with no oil (some fries came out crispy but some were uncooked). What are your thoughts? TIA and have a fabulous weekend x

      (Lizzie) I have a Phillips air fryer and I have not loved it. Partly I don't like that I have to shake them sometimes. I love the rotating cage in this one. I also like that this one has the trays. I find the Phillips to be awkward. I love the Instant Brand products, esp for the price, but I think there are others that are similar. One of my least favorite things about my air fryer is that it can't stay on the counter because of space. Since this can toast as well it will earn the privilege of being on my counter, so I think I will use it more. All that said, many people love their Phillips air fryers. I have loved chicken wings and eggplant for eggplant parm in my Phillips. And for fries I had never tried anything but frozen before this video. Also, as much as I love Aldi ( and I really love Aldi) their electric products that I have purchased have not been my favorites. So, I don't think I am really much help. Let us know what you do. And hopefully Instant Brand products will eventually be available to you.

    Do you have to soak the fresh cut fries in water?

    • @yourcolorfulplate1263
      @yourcolorfulplate1263  2 года назад

      Hi Leon. It’s a good idea to soak them. It keeps them from sticking together and it helps reduce the risk of burning them. Three to four hours of soaking is recommended. Sorry we didn’t show that step. Thanks so much for watching! We appreciate your support!
